Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first scene was at Highland High School. What did the duo try to do?

Answer: Take the flag down

The episode started off at Highland High School where Beavis and Butt-head were outside by the flag pole. Beavis tried to bring down the flag by tugging on the strings so Butt-head told him he was not doing it right. Butt-head unraveled the strings and the flag immediately fell down on top of them.
2. Who yelled at Beavis and Butt-head near the beginning of the episode?

Answer: Buzzcut

The duo now wanted to try and get the strings completely off the flag so they struggled hard to do this. Midway through their task, Buzzcut noticed them and ran over to yell at them for what they were doing. He gave them a tongue lashing on why it was important to always respect the American flag.
3. Someone claimed that America stood for truth, justice and what else?

Answer: Democracy

Buzzcut decided it was time for the boys to receive a civics lesson about America so he brought them into a classroom. He pointed to the flag and said how it represented something far deeper than what the boys felt. His claim was the American flag constitutes three pertinent ideals: truth, justice and democracy.
4. Beavis and Butt-head were assigned to write a paper on American history.

Answer: True

Buzzcut realized that he was not getting through to both Beavis and Butt-head so he punished them. For the next hour, he assigned them a paper in which they would pen several paragraphs explaining what they felt American history meant to them. The duo of course did not react kindly to this project.
5. Beavis and Butt-head fell asleep. In Beavis's dream, a symbol from what country was shown?

Answer: England

Beavis and Butt-head immediately went to sleep in their desks the moment that Buzzcut walked outside the room. The first dream we saw involved Beavis, who imagined himself on a battlefield during the American Revolution. There was an image of the Union Jack represented, which imbibes the nickname towards England's official flag.
6. Butt-head had a dream in which he was which person?

Answer: Paul Revere

After Beavis's dream completed, Butt-head's dream got a spotlight that showed him on a horse. While he rode the equine, Butt-head shouted out to numerous people, "The Yiddish are coming! The Yiddish are coming!" This was of course him misstating the famed cry from Paul Revere when he warned colonial Americans about the British's arrival.
7. In Butt-head's dream, Beavis was represented by which of these historic figures?

Answer: Betsy Ross

Butt-head rode into town and fell off his horse right outside a huge place. He went inside and noticed someone sewing a flag, which indicated that Betsy Ross was being parodied as she was most famous for piecing together the American flag. He noticed that it was Beavis who took on the role of Betsy Ross.
8. Beavis awoke for a little bit. He claimed to be doing which of these?

Answer: Homework

Butt-head's dream frightened him so much that he awoke screaming a little bit. He realized that Beavis was still asleep so he told him to wake up. Beavis did just that so Butt-head then asked him what he was doing. Beavis replied sarcastically that he was doing homework and then went right back to sleep again.
9. In Butt-head's second dream, he represented which President?

Answer: Abraham Lincoln

Butt-head had a second dream in this episode where he attempted to unite Union soldiers via the Gettysburg Address. This impassioned cry was obviously most related to President Abraham Lincoln so Butt-head clearly represented the popular Commander in Chief for this dream. In typical Butt-head fashion, he fumbled the first line to that aptly debated oration.
10. In Beavis's second dream, he was at which historical event?

Answer: Signing of the Declaration of Independence

Beavis had another dream in which he was at Independence Hall where he was a signer to the Declaration of Independence. This was evident by the speech given from Thomas Jefferson in which he claimed that Americans were endowed inalienable rights, among them the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These are often the most cited words from the Declaration of Independence.
