She did not want anyone to know so that she could be at peace for the holiday. The broken window was an accident. Lorna's guitar accidentally hit the window while she was packing. This was why the police thought she may have been kidnapped.

Answer: Seven kids who ran away from a mean orphanage

Lorna fell asleep and awakened to find seven kids who claim to live in the cabin. Oddly enough, there was no adult who lived with the kids. Lorna suspected the kids were orphans, which she later found out to be true. The kids and Lorna made a pact that she wouldn't tell anyone they were there if they wouldn't tell anyone she was there.

Then, after Christmas, they would figure something out. The children agreed, even though the oldest boy, Jake, was more withdrawn and cautious from losing his mother.

After awhile, all of the kids took a real liking to Lorna and wanted her to be their mama.

Dan Hedaya is a great actor and was so funny in this role! Harry spent most of his screen time snapping pictures of Lorna, trying to expose her everyday activities to the world for entertainment. Harry ended up helping Lorna in the end of the film. Way to go Harry!

Mountain Dan was played by none other than the very talented Lee Majors! You find out in the film that Mountain Dan is a good guy in this movie. However, the kids were scared of him because he lived in the woods and was kind of withdrawn from the world.

The children believed that he ate little children and used their bones for weapons! You learn that Dan was also living in the mountains to escape the stress of his life in the big city where he worked as a lawyer.

Anita Morris played Jezebel. She was a witch who was in love with the sheriff. The sheriff was bad news and not a very good fellow. He was not in love with her because, although she was beautiful, she was very controlling and, of course, a witch! She knew the sheriff's every move and saw him flirt with Lorna.

This made her very angry and she was convinced that Lorna was trying to steal the Sheriff away. She spent all of her screen time trying to cast evil spells against the innocent Lorna.

Jezebel was bound and determined to make Lorna's life hell. You see her in her creepy cabin making a spell to put her to sleep for a long time. Lorna did take a bite of the pie and fell asleep but Jake's love for Lorna hit her face through a fallen tear and the spell was broken.

When Jezebel found out that she was not asleep, she became very angry. Lorna tricked her into tasting her own pie by telling her the spell didn't work but that the pie was delicious. She took a bite to see what she did wrong and she was the one that went to sleep for a long time! Good thinking, Lorna!

He granted custody to Lorna, of course! She made a beautiful speech and told the judge they had changed her life and she loved them as they did her. The judge made good rulings regarding all other parties, too. He told the sheriff he would no longer be sheriff.

He also told the terrible Applegate sisters that they would no longer be running the orphanage. They really got what was coming to them all.

Mountain Dan and Lorna fell for one another! They kissed each other when custody was granted to Lorna in the courtroom. In the ending scene, Lorna was singing a beautiful song as they passed around presents on Christmas, and Harry was there too! They became one big happy family - a perfect ending to such a wonderful holiday film!
