Walter O'Brien, with an IQ of 197, is the leader of this band of intellectual geniuses and social misfits. Walter O'Brien is a real person on whom the show is based. He is an Irish businessman who is the founder of Scorpion Computer Services and is both the inspiration and the executive producer of the series. Walter is played by the actor Elyes Gabel who shows both the brilliance and the social inadequacy of the man.

Cabe Gallo is played by Robert Patrick who was John Doggett on "The X Files" and T-1000 in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". Gallo works for the Department of Homeland Security; he employs the team to help fight cyber crime and high tech threats. He's the one on the show who winds up getting into the fist fights with the evil-doers so the gifted group doesn't have to get their hands dirty.

Happy Quinn is played by Jadyn Wong. If it has to do with anything mechanical, Happy can understand it, build it, take it apart or create something new. Her mother was Vietnamese and she never knew her father until she searched for him and found him working in a car repair shop.

Ari Stidham plays Sylvester Dodd, the brilliant statistician who can figure out anything that has to do with numbers. He is a large man with a great many phobias, and a father who is in the military and does not relate well to his son. He was able to find love with Walter's sister before she died.

Riley B. Smith plays Paige's gifted son Ralph; Brendan Hines is Drew Winters, and Jamie McShane is Happy Quinn's birth father, Patrick Quinn.

Meagan was Walter's big sister who helped him get out of trouble when they were kids. She was probably the only person with whom Walter was comfortable.
Played by Camille Guaty, she was dying from MS but, before she died, she married Sylvester to become Meagan O'Brien Dodd. She also helped Sylvester get over some of his fears.

You may remember Alana De La Garza who played Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa on both "Law and Order" from 2006 to 2010, and "Law and Order: LA" in 2011. De La Garza only played supervisor Adriana Molina for a few episodes; apparently she thought the team was expendable after they risked their lives to save the world, so she was summarily fired.

I highly recommend this show even if it is a little difficult to 'suspend disbelief' at times. The acting is good and the plots are very inventive.
