Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Remember, each of the three questions only has one correct answer. In addition, all three questions have the same answer. Also, you may want to read the questions about shows you don't know - they may help clue you in to the answer. If you do all that, this quiz should be a piece of cake! Go on! 1)In "7th Heaven" Annie, Mary, and Lucy have all gotten what? 2)In "Gilmore Girls" Christopher got Lorelai what? 3)In "Smallville" Clark and Jonathan were happy when Martha got what in season 2?

Answer: Pregnant

1)Annie gets a dog for Simon in season one, and Lucy and Kevin have dogs by the end of the series, but there is nothing to make viewers think that Mary has a dog. Annie was pregnant with the twins in season 3, Mary announces her pregnancy with the baby to be named Charlie in the second episode of season 8, and Lucy turns out to be pregnant with what will be Savannah after the season 8 finale.

2)The basis of "Gilmore Girls" is that Lorelai and her daughter Rory are very close - and this is due to the fact that Lorelai had her at a very young age. The fact that Lorelai got pregnant at 16 is mentioned periodically, and so is the fact that Christopher is Rory's father. The back story is explained beautifully in the season 3 episode "Dear Emily and Richard".

3)Martha always wanted a child, but couldn't get pregnant, so when she and Jonathan found Clark (or rather, Clark found them), it was a dream come true for her. However, everyone was so happy after Martha actually got pregnant in season 2 episode "Fever". Apparently Clark's ship somehow healed her in this episode. In fact, one of the things that drove Clark to Red Kryptonite in the season 2 finale, "Exile", was the fact that he caused his mother have a miscarriage, and truly was "hurting all those whom he loved".
2. 1)In "7th Heaven", Annie's ______ dies in season 8, after suffering for years with Alzheimer's disease. 2)In "Gilmore Girls", Luke keeps the diner and office upstairs as close as possible to the way his ______ had it. 3)In "Smallville", Jor-El is Clark's biological ______.

Answer: Father

1)Annie's mother dies in the third episode, "In the Blink of an Eye". But Grandpa Charles Jackson, Annie's father, dies shortly after the actor that played him, Graham Jarvis, did in the season 8 episode "Two Weddings, an Engagement and a Funeral".

2)Luke also honors his father's memory by spending a lot of effort to give his uncle a proper burial (even though Luke didn't really like Louie), having a day each year set aside to remember him, and keeping his old boat that he never finished building.

3)Clark's "real" father, as is stressed numerous times, is Jonathan Kent, the man who "adopted" and raised Clark. When Jonathan dies in season 5, it is very hard on Clark. Clark's biological father is the Kryptonian Jor-El, who named Clark Kal-El. Jor-El appears, from seasons 2-5, to be evil, although some plot twists at the end of season 5 involving Braniac (Milton Fine) start to change how Clark and viewers perceive the "father" figure. One of Jor-El's main detriments is that he has already planned Clark's future, and keeps on reminding Clark of his "destiny". Clark defies his father numerous times, on the basis that people can choose their own destiny.
3. 1)In "7th Heaven", Mary doesn't do what to Wilson, even though he asked her to? 2)In season 5 of "Gilmore Girls", Lorelai decides to do what to Luke that she didn't end up doing with Max? 3)In one season 5 episode of "Smallville", Lana actually agrees to do what to Clark (before time is reversed in the same episode to save her life)?

Answer: Marry him

1) In the season 6 episode, "Work", Wilson proposes to Mary, but she needs time to think it over. After Wilson walks in on Ben Kinkirk kissing Mary in the following episode, they apparently brake up for good, because Mary returns home in the episode "Prodigal", and eventually tells Ruthie and Matt that she kissed another guy and they broke up. Mary ends up marrying Carlos, and has a child with him.

2)In the season 5 finale, Lorelai proposes to Luke. Lorelai remains engaged to Luke for the entirety of season 6. Lorelai was going to marry Max Medina after he proposed in the season one finale, "Love, Daisies, and Troubadours", and she accepted in the season 2 opener. However, it's only two episodes later that Lorelai calls off the wedding, because she isn't truly in love with Max, despite how much she wants to be.

3)In "Reckoning", Clark reveals his secret to Lana, and proposes in the Fortress of Solitude. She is shocked and doesn't know what to think, but realizes that, however freaky being an alien with superpowers is, Clark told her the truth, and is still the same person. She accepts, and the two are engaged and happy for a very brief time. Then, to summarize, Lana is hit by a bus and dies. Clark reverses time and stops Lana from ever dying, but also decides that he can't reveal his secrets and propose this time around. Lana never knows that she agreed to marry Clark...
4. 1)In "7th Heaven" both Eric and Lucy work in what profession? 2)In "Gilmore Girls", Lane's strict mother is mainly guided by what? 3)In "Smallville", there is very little (if any) mention of what?

Answer: Religion (the church)

1)Eric Camden and Lucy Camden-Kinkirk are ministers for the Glenoak Community Church. Matt Camden and his Wife, Sarah, are doctors.

2)Lane's mother, Mrs. Kim, is strongly guided by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Kim appreciates education, but it comes after God. Lane originally attended a very religious college, before defying her mother and dropping out.

3)"Smallville" has many scenes in Metropolis Hospital and the Smallville Medical Center. Krypton, where Clark and all other Kryptonians are from, is a planet in outer space. There are also a few spaceships on the show. And for the first 4 seasons of the show, Clark and all of his friends are in high school. They then proceed to college.
5. 1)In season 7 of "7th Heaven" Eric has to have surgery on his what? 2)Finish this quote of Lorelai's from season 1 of "Gilmore Girls": "I'm afraid that once your _____ is involved, it all comes out in moron." 3)In the season 3 episode of "Smallville" entitled "Truth", where must Clark inject the antidote for the truth serum Chloe inhaled?

Answer: Heart

1)Eric finds out in "Bowling For Eric" that he must undergo a double bypass, and can't figure out how to tell his family. He has the surgery in the following episode, "The Heart of the Matter". Eric's heart problems were established in the season 4 premiere, "The Tattle Tale Heart".

2)I find this quote from Lorelai to Rory in the episode "Kiss and Tell" memorable. Rory likes Dean, and thus, for what is most likely the first time in her life, can't express herself in words! It, instead, all comes out in "moron".

3)Clark, as Chloe says, "Pulp Fictioned" the needle into her chest- with much more strength mustered than one would think Superman would need, as a matter of fact. In this episode, remember, Chloe develops the amazing ability to force people to answer whatever questions she asks and truthfully, but unfortunately it's also killing her. That's when Clark saves the day with his injecting the antidote into her heart...
6. 1)In "7th Heaven", Simon is the only Camden child to do what? 2)In season 5 of "Gilmore Girls", in the episode "So... Good Talk", Lane realizes that, because of her upbringing, she can't do what? 3)Alicia and Clark actually don't manage to do what in season 4 of "Smallville"?

Answer: Have sex before marriage

1)None of the Camdens are ever anorexic. All of the children date, even Sam and David if you count the season 10 episode when they claim to have "girlfriends". Matt, Mary, and Lucy are all siblings of Simon's that manage to get married.

2)Lane can't believe, after everything else she did to rebel against everything her mother stood for, that not having sex stuck. In the season 6 episode "I'm OK, You're OK", Brian asks what will happen when Lane and Zack get married, and even though Brian is talking about their living situation, Zack is excited and says that he and Lane will finally be able to become intimate.

3)In the episode "Unsafe", Alicia "drugs" Clark with Red-Kryptonite and almost has sex with him, before deciding to make him take her to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, Clark and Alicia get married, and almost have sex again, but then Clark rips off the necklace and gets his perception back. According to Clark in a much later episode, he and Alicia actually never had sex! He was still a virgin when he had sex with Lana for the first time in season 5... And Clark's marriage to Alicia marriage wasn't legal.
7. 1)In the first season finale of "7th Heaven", it is made clear that Mary's knee was badly injured in the what? 2)In "Gilmore Girls", Rory is supposed to be tutoring Jess in the season 2 episode "Teach Me Tonight" when they get into a what? 3)Lex commonly mentions (during the first few seasons) what incident from the pilot episode of "Smallville" as his proof that something about Clark is unusual?

Answer: Car accident

1)Mary will not be able to play basketball for a while after her surgery is completed in "Dangerous Liaisons (2)". Michael Towner hit Mary with his car, and then drove off because he was afraid people would think it was on purpose.

2)Rory breaks her wrist in this episode, and everyone besides Luke blames Jess. Jess leaves town after Lorelai fights with Luke. The car accident caused a lot of problems!

3)Lex drives his Porsche into Clark and off the bridge at 60 miles per hour. Lex would have drowned in the lake, and Clark would have died, but he's "not exactly from around here" and saved Lex's life. Clark ripped the top off of Lex's car, grabbed Lex, and performed CPR. Lex, however, knows something that no one else does. Lex knows Clark didn't jump into the lake after Lex's car - Lex remembers driving into Clark. Lex also has the car analyzed and knows that the roof couldn't have possibly been ripped off in such a way from impact.
8. 1)In season 10 of "7th Heaven" Rose's parents must fly in from where in order to attend Rose and Simon's wedding? 2)After Rory graduates from high school in season 3 of "Gilmore Girls", where to Lorelai and Rory go? 3)Where does Lana meet Jason, her boyfriend in season 4 of "Smallville"?

Answer: Europe

1)Mary, George, Ben, The Colonel, and Ruth originally live in Buffalo, New York. Wilson also ends up there. Lucy goes there for a brief time to be with her fiancé, but when they break up, she goes back to her house where the rest of the Camdens live in Glen Oak, California. By the end of the series, Matt and Sarah are the only people ever mentioned that live in New York (because that's where they attended medical school).

2)It had been Lorelai's dream, as shown in "Dear Emily and Richard", to backpack across Europe when she graduated from high school. But she had a baby instead. When Rory graduates, however, they both get to do what they'd planned on for Rory's entire life. In the season 4 opener, "Ballrooms and Biscotti", the trip across Europe seems to have been a success!

3)Lana decides in season 3 to go to Paris (a city in France, which is a country in Europe). She goes to a school for the arts, and the season 4 opener shows Lana and Jason together. Lana ultimately decides, due to some paranormal events, to go back to Smallville, but Jason loves Lana, and thus follows her and remains her boyfriend.
9. 1)Eric agrees to ask Matt to take Connie (who turns out to be a "harlot") where, after her father asks Eric to in the second season of "7th Heaven"? 2)Where does Rory take Dean in the 9th episode of the first season of "Gilmore Girls"? 3)In order to save Lana from tornadoes, where does Clark abandon Chloe at the end of season 1 of "Smallville"?

Answer: The dance

1)Connie, despite her reputation, is actually a nice girl who doesn't have a mother. One of the things I personally remember from this episode is her green prom dress Annie made for her out of the curtains!

2)Dean doesn't really want to go, but he goes because Rory wants him to. At the dance, Madeline and Louise fawn over Rory's tall "Prince Charming", and Dean meets Tristan. Rory hates Tristan, but Dean makes the accurate observation that he likes her. Rory and Dean take a break on their walk home at Miss Patty's, and accidentally fall asleep. They're consequently out all night, and Emily, who is staying at Lorelai's house because Lorelai hurt her back, finds out. Emily yells at Lorelai about Rory not coming home, because she thinks that Lorelai is a bad parent. She says that Rory is going to get pregnant just like Lorelai did.

3)Chloe is heartbroken when Clark leaves. She had been hoping that Clark would ask her to prom since before the mind-reading Ryan revealed it 5 episodes back. She even wore her pink dress! It is a basic love conflict: Chloe loves Clark, but Clark loves Lana. Lana actually has now been acting like she still loves Whitney, although she definitely also has some feelings for Clark. Whitney is going off to war, and Lana is saying goodbye when the tornadoes start to come. She's actually in her car, getting swept up by a tornado, when Clark grabs the car and flies up too. Clark saves Lana's life, and Clark never thinks twice about the fact he abandoned Chloe. Chloe ends up deciding that she and Clark should remain friends, although Chloe still loves Clark.
10. 1)In season 7 of "7th Heaven", viewers meet one of Ruthie's classmates, Peter Petrowski. What is his mother's name? 2)When Rory starts Chilton in season 1 of "Gilmore Girls", this person hates the "farm girl" Rory, and the feeling is mutual. By the time Rory beats her by becoming Valedictorian in season 3, they are friends. In season 6 Rory actually chooses to become roommates with her! What is this girl's name? 3)In season 3 of "Smallville", Lana decides to go to a school for the arts in this city. Later on, she magically gets a tattoo while there! What city am I referring to?

Answer: Paris

1)Soon after his first appearance in the season 7 episode "Lost Souls", Peter and Ruthie become close friends. Peter's mom is overworked and single, because Peter's father, Vic, is an alcoholic. Vic eventually gets sober, and even remarries Paris! Paris actually gets pregnant with another one of Vic's children, and Peter becomes involved in Ruthie's life again in season 10, when the two are in 10th grade. (The writers sped up Ruthie's aging, as in season 1 she wasn't even in pre-kindergarten yet.)

2)Paris Geller first appeared in the second episode of "Gilmore Girls", "The Lorelais First Day at Chilton". She is all of Rory's competition in everything, and they are also paired up a lot. Paris, not Rory, is editor of the school paper, but they are on the debate team and win the senior student government election together. Paris gets a life coach by the beginning of season 4, and she makes it so that they become roommates at Yale. And while this is portrayed as almost torture for Rory when she finds out, it's also good. Rory has become Paris's best friend, and Rory has started to like her too.

3)Starting in the season 3 episode "Truth", viewers find out through Chloe's truth serum that Lana is thinking of going to the Paris School for the Arts. Lana does end up going to Paris, but returns to Smallville after seeing a symbol she'd seen in Smallville's caves appear as a tattoo on her back. The tattoo actually was proof that she was now a vessel for her 16th-century-witch-ancestor, but she didn't know that at the time.
