I loved her "Ain't No Sunshine". She was the 5th to be done away with, on 8/7/02. Strangely enough, that day she was hospitalized for a throat infection and couldn't be there to be voted off.

Rocker-punk Nikki might have been terribly off-key, but she was quite the underdog, so I loved her. But after she butchered "Always Something There", I completely turned. =) However, her rendition of "I'm the Only One" and "Black Velvet" were great. She was 3rd of the 10 finalists-- lucky girl.

It was a big shock for everyone but me when she was kicked off as the number 4 finalist on 8/21/02. I was so done with her... however, her "A Fool In Love" wasn't bad.

Ghoulish AJ was kicked off 7/24/02. With 9 siblings and a horrible voice, I agree with Simon-- AJ was only in the top 10 because we felt sorry for him.

He was called in after one of the finalists was found out to be lying about his age. The limits are 16-24 and the guy was 29, so EJay came in. Voted out 1rst, however, on 7/17/02, after a sweet performance of "My Girl".

How "easy" it was, too, to vote him off second, right after EJay on 7/17. Deaf parents didn't do anything for keeping him in the show.
