4. You turn to another contestant and ask who these judges are. Maybe, just maybe, you will be able to impress them with your knowledge about them, you think. He can't think of their names, but he tells you about the first judge. She is a cheerleader, choreographer, and a singer. She has worked with Janet Jackson extensively and has choreographed the Academy Awards. Her music hits include "Opposites Attract" and "Forever Your Girl". What judge was this?

Making records and breaking them, in the last 10 years, he has achieved sales of over 25 million albums, over 70 top 30 records and 17 number 1 singles. 7. With loads of information about the judges, you are called to the audition room. You nervously enter. You tell the judges about yourself. Then you sing. They are all impressed! They then confer amongst themselves, before unanimously deciding: YOU ARE GOING TO HOLLYWOOD! You were one of the 120 moving on. You wow the judges and are narrowed down to the third round. 9. Unfortunately, the judges found out you were born on a leap year, and thus you are only six years old, and ineligible for competition. Yet, you are allowed a behind the scenes look on the rest of the competition. With the final 30 in hand, you watch from the red room as the first group of 10 are getting ready to perform. One of them goes out there. With a flower in their hair, she takes the stage with confidence. Introducing herself as a 21 year-old from LA. She then expresses, why she wants to be the "American Idol": "I have lost both of my parents at a young age, grew up on the streets of L.A. literally by myself, been broker than broke and still I keep keepin' on, livin' and dreamin' for the love of music." She then sings the song, "Daydream Believer" (originally sung by the Monkees). It comes out wobbly, and Simon is not very happy. Who is this poor girl?
10. After Tamyra Grey, Ryan Star, and Jim Verraros have moved on to the top 10, the new group of 10 comes out. A 23-year old from Manhattan takes the stage. Yet someone is destined to fail: Whose performance is considered "boring" by Simon?
14. The top 10! Talented singers! Accomplished judges! And of course screaming teenagers top off this exciting night. The theme is Motown, and you can't wait to here the soul that many have to bring. Yet, the top 10 get their first taste of stardom with a little clothes shopping. Provided by a show sponsor, how much money did each top 10 contestants get to spend on clothes?
15. The sixties theme and episode has also been completed, and you are ready to move on after AJ, Ejay, and Jim were eliminated. The show moves onto another era with the seventies. The judges were quoted as saying Nikki was leaving, but it turned out to be Ryan Starr. Yet, to your delight, before she left the group did a fully choreographed performance of what song?
16. With four eliminated, night of the Big Band theme is upon us. You are excited to see everyone backed with a live band. But the pressure was too much for some people: Who of the following did NOT forget the words to parts of their song?
17. With Christina Christian now gone, we move on to none other than Burt Bacharach songs? That's right, and you take the news strangely too. Expecting a boring night, you are shocked by an amazing performance. Whose performance did Simon call "one of the best performances on television in a while", when they performed "A House Is Not a Home"?
18. RJ may have been booted, but you are too depressed by Tamyra's departure to recall it. It's now the final three: Nikki, Justin, and Kelly. You like all of them, but now it's time for the judges to choose their songs. Nikki is told that she butchered her songs, as usual. And as expected she got the boot. 19. You made it through ALL the episodes! You have gone through heartbreak and happiness, and it comes to an end with the finale. You see Kelly and Justin perform songs chosen and written for them. Each do a great job, and you're not sure who to root for. Ryan and Brian get ready to announce the results. But before it, you are pounced with two top 5 countdowns. The first is "The Worst Auditions". Derek Stilling is surprisingly only ranked 4th, while the chick that sang "Genie in a Bottle" gets the award. Then "The Best Auditions". All those shown are in the top 10: A.J., Christina, Justin, Tamyra, and Kelly. Then ANOTHER list (the top 5 Simon-isms). You think it's time for the big results. Nope! Another top 5 (People with most attitude). NOW! Time for the results. Over 15 million people vote, and the winner is...you collapse of nervousness: Who wins the first "American Idol"?
20. You are partly relieved, and partly sad it is over. You didn't win, but you know that one day you will make it. You are warped back to your house. You hear Kelly speaking on the "Today Show". Complete her famous phrase: "Ducka, ducka, _____."
