Robert Blake was born Michael James Vincenzo Gubitosi on 18th September 1933, in Nutley, New Jersey. In 2002 he was arrested for the murder of his second wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, who was killed on 4th May 2001. He was subsequently acquitted of her murder.

The theme song to 'Baretta', was called "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow", and was written by Dave Grusin and M.Ames. It was initially an instrumental, but lyrics sung by Sammy Davis Jr were later added.
