Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many sponges is Elaine surprised to learn come in a case of Today Sponges?

Answer: 60

This from the episode, "The Sponge". Elaine learns that her favorite method of birth control, The Sponge, is about to be discontinued, and she decides she must get her hands on as many as possible before they're all gone. This also leads her to have to re-think who she is willing to use one for, and whether or not someone is "sponge worthy".
2. Which actor portrayed Slippery Pete in the episode, "The Frogger"?

Answer: Peter Stormare

You might recognize this actor best from his role in Joel and Ethan Coen's film, "Fargo". He played Gaear Grimsrud, Steve Buscemi's character's tight-lipped partner-in-crime. Steve Hytner played Kenny Bania, Kay E. Kuter played the older priest George went to see to convert to Latvian Orthodox in "The Conversion", and Jack Shearer played Mr. Tuttle, one of George's bosses at one of his many short-lived jobs in the episode, "The Barber".
3. In the episode, "The Kiss Hello", George goes to see a friend of Elaine's, Wendy, who is a physical therapist. How much does the receptionist tell George he actually owes when he tries to pay for his session?

Answer: $150

George had to cancel an earlier appointment, and the receptionist informs him that their policy is that they need twenty-four hours notice for all cancellations, otherwise he'd be charged. George: "Well, I couldn't come. I had to drive my mother to the chiropodist." Wendy: "Well, I'm sorry, that's our policy". George: "Oh, you have a policy! The delicate genius has a policy!"
4. In the episode, "The Beard", Elaine poses as a date for a gay friend of a friend, Robert, and they are taken out to a ballet by Robert's boss, who Robert is afraid could not handle his orientation. What is the name of the ballet they went to see?

Answer: Swan Lake

Elaine has a strong attraction to Robert, and he has feelings for her as well. She actually convinces him to "convert", and they start dating, but alas, it doesn't last long.
5. What was the reason George ended up losing his great new apartment to Elaine's ex, Alan Mercer, in the episode, "The Andrea Doria"?

Answer: Alan gave the super fifty bucks

In this episode, George is trying to get into a new apartment he really likes. He almost loses it to Clarence Eldridge, a survivor of the Andrea Doria shipwreck, whom the tenant's association took pity on because of his suffering, and almost gave it to. George is able to convince the board that he has suffered much more, citing examples of his sad life, such as the time he was handcuffed to a bed in a hotel, and left there in his underwear by a woman in the episode, "The Subway".

After hearing the "Astonishing Tales of Costanza", the board decides George deserves the apartment more than Mr. Eldridge.

But at the end of the episode, George discovers the apartment has actually ended up going to Alan Mercer, and ex-boyfriend of Elaine's who is a "bad breaker-upper". Alan had been stabbed and had hot coffee poured on him by girlfriends he broke up with, as well as being stabbed with a fork in the forehead by Elaine, which is what George assumes are the reasons that the tenant board gave the apartment to him. Turns out, though, slipping the super fifty bucks is all it took.
6. What country did Jake Jarmel get his glasses from in the episode, "The Scofflaw"?

Answer: Malaysia

Jake, another ex of Elaine's, thinks he's pretty special because of his unique eyeglasses, and he doesn't want anyone else to have them. After an altercation with Elaine, she wants a way to get back at him. As she's riding in a cab, she notices a man walking down the street wearing a pair of glasses that look exactly like Jake's.

She buys them from him on the spot, then shows off to Jake that she has the same pair, and that he's not so special.
7. What is the name of the employee at Ross' Department Store that questions George when he brings in a rocking chair for the security guard to sit in?

Answer: Evan

George takes pity on a security guard at Susan's uncle's clothing store he notices is required to stand in one spot all day. He decides he's going to bring in a chair for the guard to sit in. When he brings the chair in, he's questioned by the clerk in the store, who asks him if Mr. Ross told him to bring the chair in. George asks the clerk his name, at which point he tells him, "Evan Fayne". George says, "I'm engaged to Mr. Ross' niece. I'm probably gonna be taking over this whole place someday, so if I were you, I would stay on my good side."
8. Matt McCoy played Lloyd Braun in the episode, "The Non-Fat Yogurt".

Answer: False

Matt McCoy played Lloyd Braun the episodes "The Gum" and "The Serenity Now", but another actor played him in this particular episode.
9. In the episode, "The Dinner Party", which date does Jerry tell Elaine was the last time he vomited?

Answer: June 29th, 1980

Elaine and Jerry are in a bakery to pick up a chocolate bobka cake to take to a dinner party. They ended up having to settle for a cinnamon bobka after they just missed the last chocolate one. Jerry had eaten a black and white cookie while at the bakery, which ended up making him sick.

After his vomit streak had officially ended and Elaine asked him how it was, Jerry replied, "Good as it gets".
10. What is the name of the clothing shop Jerry buys a crested blazer from in the episode, "The Wig Master"?

Answer: The Andover Shop

At the opening of the episode, we see Jerry at The Andover Shop, talking with a salesman, Craig, who shows him a Joseph Aboud crested blazer. Jerry tells Craig he's not quite sure if wants to buy it, that he'll think about it, and come back later with someone to see what they think, to which Craig gives a sort of "yeah, right" response. Back in Jerry's apartment, he relays the encounter to Elaine, and asks her to go back down to the store to pretend to look at the coat to show Craig he wasn't lying, even though he was.

When they get back to the store, Jerry says to Craig, "Remember me? I said I'd come back with someone and I did. Surprised?" Craig: "No, I believed you".
