1. On day 44 in the house, the all-seeing one set the housemates a new task - the "Big Brother" boot camp. What did "Big Brother" re-name itself for the duration of that task?

Answer: Big Brigadier

For this task, Jason and Michelle were the Sergeants, whilst the remaining housemates became Privates, with all of them wearing the appropriate uniforms. Each morning the "Big Brother" flag was hoisted in the garden, and tasks such as potato peeling and sentry duty were given. Sergeants Jason and Michelle had a separate bedroom, had their meals cooked for them by the Privates and did not have to take part in the tasks. To add to the boot camp feel, the diary room had some camouflage decorating it, and the duvets in the bedroom were removed and replaced with army style blankets.

2. On the 16th July 2004, Nadia was set a mini task by "Big Brother". She was given one hour to make every housemate laugh, without telling them it was a challenge set by "Big Brother". What was Nadia's reward for achieving this task?

Answer: A chocolate cake

Nadia won a large chocolate cake for her efforts in getting each housemate to laugh, which, of course, she duly shared with the others. Nadia had a strong tobacco addiction, and would get quite irritable if her supplies ran out. As tobacco could only be ordered with the housemates weekly shopping list, this was sometimes a problem if Nadia ran out before the week was up, resulting in tantrums and a lot of swearing!

3. "Big Brother" made the most of its new evil personality in 2004, and gave the housemates a real treat for their Saturday challenge on the 17th July. Split into pairs, one housemate had to answer general knowledge questions whilst the other had to stand on a slide. If the question was answered incorrectly the other hapless housemate had to slide down the chute into a tank of fish guts! When Nadia got her question wrong which housemate had to take the smelly plunge?

Answer: Dan

Oh dear. The housemates managed to lose the sum of �15,000 from their prize fund on this task, with Dan, Victor and Shell all taking the slide. "Big Brother" very kindly offered the housemates the chance to win back �5,000 if one of them would be prepared to drink a fish milkshake. Strangely, they all declined this generous offer!

4. The "Big Brother" house of 2004 saw the usual backstabbing and muttered comments common when a group of people are shut up together in a small environment. Which housemate said "Dan sits on more fences then Worzel Gummidge"?

Answer: Victor

Housemate Victor Ebuwa became somewhat legendary amongst "Big Brother" fans for his witticisms, or Victor-isms as they became known as. He was, however, sometimes perceived as being aggressive, and was evicted from the house on 23rd July after viewers saw him shouting at Shell, reducing her to tears.

This then left Jason as the only remaining member of the self styled jungle cats. Hairdresser Dan was considered the peacemaker of the house, quietly trying to sort out any disputes that started to occur.

5. "Big Brother" certainly excelled itself this year with the new and different tasks it came up with to challenge the housemates. On day 53 the task was to stage a "Big Brother" wedding, complete with hen night, stag night and the actual wedding ceremony. Which housemate played the part of the clergyman during this task?

Answer: Jason

Stuart was the father of the bride, Shell. Victor was the groom, with his best man being played by Dan. Nadia was the bridesmaid and Michelle was the chorister. The task started off quite well, with the girls providing entertainment for Victor's stag night, and the boys then performing a dance routine for the hen night. (A parody of "The Full Monty").

Unfortunately, things disintegrated by the time the, umm, happy couple were to take the floor for the first dance, when Victor and Shell had a heated argument.

The whole "Big Brother" wedding task had a total of six fails, earning the housemates a week on basic rations.

6. For their weekly challenge on day 58, the housemates were invited to the diary room to guess who was behind the voice of a celebrity "Big Brother". Nadia correctly identified the voices of which well known duo?

Answer: The Cheeky Girls

The housemates were allowed to ask each celebrity "Big Brother" ten questions, but the celebrity was only able to answer with a "yes" or "no". As well as Nadia, Dan and Shell also correctly identified Jim Bowen and Sir Patrick Moore, but Stuart, Michelle and Jason were unable to recognize the voices of Roland Rat, singing duo Chas and Dave and magician Paul Daniels.

7. One of the most talked about events in the 2004 "Big Brother" house was the romance between housemates Stuart Wilson and Michelle Bass. Even Stuart's friends appeared in the media giving their comments. What was the name that Stuart and his three best friends gave themselves?

Answer: Team Handsome

The boys obviously thought of themselves as a good looking bunch! Stuart's three friends, Tom, Matt and Tom, appeared on "Big Brother's Little Brother" television show, giving their comments on his progress in the house and on his developing relationship with Michelle.

8. "Big Brother" really seemed to have a strange taste in music for series 5, gleefully waking up the housemates each morning with a cheesy pop song. Which classic hit by the Wurzels got the housemates up and bopping on the 27th July?

Answer: Combine Harvester

After dispensing with the assorted alarms previously used, "Big Brother" dug out some cheesy songs from the 70s and 80s. Other treats from the "Big Brother" record collection included "Agadoo", "Ace Of Spades" and "Rabbit". Incidentally, the Wurzels "Combine Harvester" hit was a parody of the Melanie song "Brand New Key".

9. For the week commencing 26th July 2004, the housemates were given a chain gang task. Shackled together in pairs for three days, the housemates had to do almost everything as a duo, even sharing the same bed and cooking together. Michelle was not very happy to see Stuart shackled to whom?

Answer: Shell

Prior to the task taking place, each housemate was called to the diary room to be weighed. There were one or two protests from the female housemates of course, with Nadia trying to conceal the results of the weigh-in from "Big Brother". The housemates were then paired up according to their weight, with the couples being Jason and Michelle, Dan and Nadia and Stuart and Shell.

The housemates, shackled at either the feet, hands or waist, were only allowed to take off the chains when visiting either the diary room or bathroom, and for ten minutes to use the shower each morning and evening.

They even had to clean the teeth of the housemate they were shackled to. When Stuart and Michelle wanted a cuddle, poor Shell was forced to look away. "Big Brother" viewers began to tire of the Stuart and Michelle love affair after this task, and Michelle was evicted on 30th July 2004.

10. The housemates successfully passed the chain gang challenge.

As a reward for passing the challenge, the housemates were each treated to a video message from their friends and family, bringing smiles and a few tears to the faces of the housemates.
