Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Roj Blake
Answer: Gareth Thomas
Blake's charisma and experience as a resistance leader made him the obvious choice as leader, indeed he was probably the only one who could have kept the band of criminals together as a coherent force. After leaving the Liberator in an escape pod following the battle for Star One, he is not heard from until Avon tracks him down to the planet Gauda Prime.
2. Kerr Avon
Answer: Paul Darrow
Avon was often at odds with Blake's leadership but never enough to go his own way, although he threatened to do so more than once. Once Blake was gone Avon took over as leader, but his plans lacked Blake's strategic vision and eventually he became desperate enough to seek Blake out, with disastrous consequences!
3. Vila Restal
Answer: Michael Keating
Vila could open almost any lock in the galaxy, a skill that made him very useful on many occasions. But he was also an inveterate and self-confessed coward, which was less useful! His verbal exchanges with Avon were some of the most memorable moments of the series.
4. Jenna Stannis
Answer: Sally Knyvette
Jenna was a convicted smuggler and expert pilot. She left the Liberator in an escape pod after the battle for Star One and was never seen again.
5. Olag Gan
Answer: David Jackson
Gan had been found guilty of murder and had a "limiter" implanted in his brain to prevent him killing again. He died helping the others escape from Control.
6. Cally
Answer: Jan Chappell
Cally was a telepath who had been sent from her home planet of Auron to Saurion Major to assist in their rebellion against the Federation. When that failed, rather than return home in disgrace, she stayed on as an insurgent force of one until the Liberator crew arrived and she signed on with them instead. She died in the destruction of Terminal.
7. Zen/Slave
Answer: Peter Tuddenham
Zen was the computer on the Liberator until his circuits were eaten away on the way to Terminal. Slave was the computer on Scorpio until it crashed on Gauda Prime.
8. Del Tarrant
Answer: Steven Pacey
Tarrant commandeered the evacuated Liberator following the battle for Star One along with a band of Federation troopers who thought that he was a Federation Space Captain. After Avon and Dayna came back on board, Tarrant killed off the troopers one by one before joining the crew as their new pilot in place of the missing Jenna.
9. Dayna Mellanby
Answer: Josette Simon
Dayna and her father Hal were weapons researchers on the planet Sarran. Once her father was killed by Servalan, Dayna threw in her lot with Avon and the Liberator crew.
10. Soolin
Answer: Glynis Barber
Soolin was the companion of Dorian who rescued the remaining Liberator crew from Terminal and took them back to his base on the planet Xenon. After Dorian's death Soolin realised that her only way of surviving was to "sell her skill" (with firearms, which was considerable) to the new crew of the Scorpio.
