Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Only Fools and Horses" is probably Sullivan's most famous work, and was partly responsible for making David Jason (Delboy) such a huge star. But what is the name of the actor who plays car dealer Boycie?

Answer: John Challis

Roger Lloyd Pack is of course Trigger (my fave!), Patrick Murray is the sleazy Mickey Pearce and Paul Barber is the highly strung Denzil.
2. In "Dear John" Ralph Bates plays newly divorced John. He joins a club for divorced and separated people called "The 1-2-1 Club". Who runs the club?

Answer: Louise

Louise was famous for asking everyone if there were "Any sexual problems"? This was a great comedy with fantastic characters.
3. One of John's later creations was "Roger Roger" which was set in a mini-cab office. What was the name of the cab firm?

Answer: Cresta Cabs

I really enjoyed this programme but it seemed to disappear around the late '90s. The cast was quality and included Robert Daws, Keith Allen and Phillip Glennister.
4. Which John Sullivan creation used to shout "Power to the People" at the beginning of each programme?

Answer: Citizen Smith

Wolfie was the leader of the "Tooting Popular Front", but had his street cred ruined everytime his girlfriend's mum called him "Foxy".
5. What is the name of the actor who played Rodney and Delboy's grandad in "Only Fools and Horses"?

Answer: Lennard Pearce

Lennard sadly died in 1984 and was replaced by Buster Merryfield in the role of Uncle Albert. Although Albert is great he never (for me)had the same comedic impact as Grandad. My favourite episode with Grandad is the chandalier cleaning one. The timing of all three actors is perfect.
6. "Just Good Friends" was a gentle, but funny romance centred around two characters - Vince Pinner and Penny. What was Penny's surname?

Answer: Warrender

I remember watching this and wanting to be Penny. Not only was Jan Francis lovely looking, but she got to be with Vince (Paul Nicholas). I'd had a crush on him since he had a cheesy hit with "Dancing with the Captain"!
7. What is the name of the actor who played Kirk St. Moritz in "Dear John"?

Answer: Peter Blake

How cool was Kirk St. Moritz? Not very - as when he returned home he was a bit of a saddo who lived with his mum. Kirk was a complete gem of a character though and was played to perfection by Peter Blake.
8. In "Just Good Friends" Vince had an accident prone little brother. What was his name?

Answer: Clifford

He was his mum's "Little Cliffy". Whenever Cliffy was around there was usualy a crash and then Cliffy muttering "I never touched it".
9. Which John Sullivan comedy starred Diane Bull as Annie Briggs?

Answer: Sitting Pretty

Thankfully "Sitting Pretty" only lasted for two series as every character was extremely annoying. John must have had a bad few days when he wrote this one.
10. Which John Sullivan comedy starred Tim Healey as Harry Springer?

Answer: Heartburn Hotel

I usually love Tim Healey (Dennis in "Auf Weidersehn Pet") but after one episode of this I just gave up. Not my cup of tea.
