(Duane recently got into hot water for some very unfortunate remarks he made in a private phone conversation.) Which show is it?

Answer: Dog the Bounty Hunter

The Dog spent 18 months in prison for murder as a young man, and became a bounty hunter after his release. Duane Chapman's crew includes his fifth wife Beth, his sons Leland and Duane, daughter Lyssa and long-time friend Tim Chapman.
In June 2003, Duane, Leland and Tim Chapman apprehended Max Factor heir Andrew Luster. Luster had jumped bail after his conviction on 86 counts of date rape. There was a massive manhunt for Luster by law enforcement and bounty hunters. He was living the high life in Acapulco, Mexico when the Chapmans found him and grabbed him up. He is now serving a 124 year sentence in a California prison.
The Chapmans were immediately arrested by Mexican police on charges of bounty hunting, which is against the law in Mexico. A Mexican court finally dismissed all criminal charges against the Chapmans because the statute of limitations had expired.
In November 2007, Duane Chapman became the latest celebrity to have been caught using racial slurs which subsequently became public. This during a private phone call with his son Tucker, who recorded the conversation and sold it to the National Enquirer for 15,000 dollars. Dog's television show was put on indefinite hiatus, and he has made a public apology.

Answer: What Not To Wear

Everyone appearing on "What Not To Wear" for a makeover receives a five thousand dollar credit card and a trip to New York to shop for clothes. They also have their hair and make-up done over. All with the expert advice of hosts Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, of course. Everyone looks smashing at the end of the show, although it can't be too much fun to hear that one looked like a hooker/bag lady before the makeover.

3. Round up forty young people, all under fifteen, and plunk them down in a ghost town called Bonanza. Have them run the town, elect a town council to call all the shots, do all the cooking and cleaning-with no adults involved, except for the show's host. Which show is it?

Answer: Kid Nation

The kids stay in Bonanza for a month, seemingly fending for themselves. It is difficult to tell how much might be "staged." The kids elect a council of four members that govern the town, and competitions are staged to determine which of the four competing teams will be upper class, merchant class, cooks, or laborers for awhile.

There is a showdown every week, for prizes, and several deserving kids have been selected by the council to receive a gold star worth twenty thousand dollars.

4. MTV's "Real World" is one of the granddaddies of reality TV, and it's still going strong. What city played host to the very first season of "Real World"?

Answer: New York City

The first edition of "Real World" took place in New York City in 1992. The cast was made up of seven people, living in a loft, and is probably best remembered for a very heated clash (over a phone call) between young Julie and poet Kevin. The cast: Julie, Eric, Becky, Andre, Heather, Norman and Kevin. "Real World" is still going strong.

5. Can you whip up a frock made out of a garbage bag in 15 minutes? Design an entire collection in a week? Then "Project Runway" might be your cup of tea. Which top model is host of the show?

Answer: Heidi Klum

Supermodel Heidi Klum is also a fashion designer and the producer of "Project Runway". She became well-known as a model for Victoria's Secret lingerie. "Project Runway" is a popular showcase for the talents of upcoming designers. The winner receives one hundred thousand dollars to start their own line of clothing.

6. Are you a good cook? I mean really good-you'll have to be to become a contestant on this show. Participants might be asked to concoct a gourmet dinner with an onion and a sack of potatoes, and they usually come up with some wonderfully tasty dishes. Padma Lakshmi is the host of this one. What is it called?

Answer: Top Chef

The contestants on this show are amazing, at least to me. They are asked to prepare gourmet dishes under difficult circumstances, and come up with what looks to be really delicious food. The winner receives one hundred thousand dollars, to start up their own restaurant, among other good prizes. There is a panel of four judges, including the gorgeous Padma.

7. Ever had a desire to get a tattoo, cold sober? Would you like a dragon tattoo perhaps, a map of your home state, a portrait of your grandmother? Kat von D is the host and owner of a tattoo shop, with a crew of really talented artists. For a price, you can get a tattoo and be on television to boot. What is the name of the show?

Answer: L.A. Ink

Kat von D has assembled an incredibly talented group of tattoo artists: Hannah Aitchison, Kim Saigh and tattooing legend Corey Miller. On the show, people come to the shop to get their tattoo, and tell the story behind it (there's always a story). A portrait of a baby that died, the Chicago skyline, someone's beloved pet cat, all of these have been tattooed on somebody for the cameras.

8. Ever feel like you want to see the world, paired up with your best friend, your new love or your grandfather? This is the reality show for you. It's a tough competition, with everyone performing difficult tasks, and always dashing to catch a taxi or a plane to the next destination ahead of their rivals. The host is Phil Keoghan, the prize: one million dollars. Which show is it?

Answer: The Amazing Race

Contestants really get to travel the world on this program. The tasks can be strenuous, and the stress often gets to the participants. The Amazing Race is one of the best of the reality shows; it's great fun to see the world through their adventures.

9. In 2007, "Big Brother 8" aired. In this version there were several twists. One involved "America's Player", one of the house occupants who was selected to secretly do the bidding of the U.S. public, for a cash prize at the end of the show. Who was "America's Player?"

Answer: Eric

Eric Stein had to keep his role as "America's Player" secret from the rest of the house, including the girl he was having a romance with. He received forty thousand dollars for his work. Eric was instructed to act goofy or vote certain people off the show. The season 8 winner was Dick Donato, the runner-up his daughter Danielle.

10. This reality show is about dancing, and is an enormous hit in the United States. It involves celebrities who are paired with professional dancers, and couples are eliminated one by one through judging and viewer participation. What's the name of the show?

Answer: Dancing With the Stars

Incredibly popular in the U.S., the 2007 version of "DWTS" featured such celebrities as Jane Seymour, Marie Osmond (who famously fainted after a strenuous number), boxer Floyd Mayweather, and singer Wayne Newton. The 2007 version was won by Brazilian race car driver Helio Castroneves and his talented partner Julianne Hough.
