In this episode Allison Janney was the guest host of "The Disaster Show".

In the show within a show guest hosts played themselves. Felicity Huffman was the host of the pilot, whilst Lauren Graham appeared in the episodes "The Long Lead Story" and "The Wrap Party". Diana-Maria Riva is a member of the cast where she plays Lilly Rodriguez working alongside Cal in the control room.

Answer: Local 44 of the Prop-masters Union

It was Local 44 of the Prop-masters Union holding the wildcat strike. The official name of the prop-masters union is International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE).

Danny had lost his rag in negotiations, and the prop-masters had walked out early as the strike was supposed to start at midnight. Apart from the teaser we do not see Danny in this episode as he is supposed to be negotiating on the phone. Cal says that Danny's tyres are being slashed by the Teamsters.

Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union is the British equivalent of the prop-masters union, whilst members of International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers were not involved with this dispute.

Answer: "Nancy Grace"

Harriet is opening the show, impersonating CNN/Court TV's Nancy Grace. The striking prop-masters have spiked Harriet's on-screen coffee mug with grain alcohol.

'Peripheral Vision Man' had been dropped from the Studio 60 roster, 'All you need is love' was a programme that had been pitched to NBS, and 'The Nicholas Cage Show' was a Studio 60 regular where Alex Dwyer played by Simon Helberg impersonates Nicholas Cage.

Answer: The prop table

Cal breaks the prop table, and the props are scattered over the floor.

In the teaser we also see Cal break the table in the writers' room. Cal does not visit Matt's office, but in this episode we do visit the reception desk. We also discover that the cast members do not know where their props are stored!

Answer: German

The LAPD use German to restrain the dog from sniffing Cal's crotch.

In Britain the breed name German Shepherd is interchangeable with Alsatian.
For a time the breed were also known as French Police dogs. The name Alsatian was used after World War I when things German were not that popular.

Answer: Stephanie

Stephanie had dumped Simon at the start of the show within this episode because of his wandering eye. We do not see Halley in this episode. Simon goes on the prowl to the Green Room where he tries to hit on Jennifer, the wife of the head of NBS Legal Dept., and then almost succeeds in reviving his relationship with Claire.

Then things get worse for Simon.

Answer: "The James Bond Sketch"

The sound effects of Machine Guns and Squibs go off in the "James Bond" sketch.

The 1st sketch we see is "Le Bistro De La Finis" which does not need the squibs, and sound effects, but has an empty purse.

The 2nd sketch needed the squibs and blood, this was the "Gangster Sketch" where Allison then mimes being shot.

The 3rd sketch, "James Bond", sketch in which the machine gun noises and squibs go off. This is when Allison switches on the music system.

It is believed that "Mohammed the Thin Skinned Prophet" causes the bomb threat, and does not involve Allison.

Answer: Robbie and Robby

The teenagers who made the hoax bomb threat were Robbie Wyatt and Robby Clarke. They were arrested by the LAPD when they returned to collect the mobile phone that they made the call from. They had lost it at the studio, where they attended the dress rehearsal.

Answer: Blue

Television is currently recorded and broadcast in the colours red, green and blue. Due to an equipment malfunction, the dress rehearsal was only recorded in red and green. The colour blue was not recorded.

John Logie Baird broadcast the first RGB colour transmission in 1928.

Answer: Mohammed Ali

Mohammed Ali is probably the world's most famous heavyweight boxer and Mohammed Al Fayed used to own Harrods store in London. Mushtaq Mohammed captained the Pakistan Cricket Team in the late 1970's, and was coach to the United States Cricket Team, whilst the Prophet Mohammed founded Islam, the Muslim faith.
