Answer: A remote control

Aeryn and John are hiding out in Pilot's den as everyone is ready to depart, the guys to a mental training camp, the girls to go find a part for Moya. Aeryn gives John a remote and John asks if something else comes with it. Aeryn says "It's big. It's taking over your room." In a later episode we see a big screen TV in his room.

Answer: Macton

Macton is his former brother-in-law who killed his own sister, D'Argo's wife, Lo'Laan. D'Argo attacks him, but the teacher, Katoya, breaks up the fight.

Answer: Mrs. Krabappel

Katoya tells John that everyone must participate when John says he is only there to watch, not wanting to have the Juxtowi crystal put in his head which allows him to battle opponents in a mental arena. John tells Katoya, "It ain't gonna happen, Mrs. Krabappel. Fail me, give me an F on my report card. I ain't going in your icosahedron." Mrs. Krabappel is Bart's teacher on "The Simpsons."

Answer: Do you know what a "crock" is?

Macton tells John that D'Argo killed his wife in a fit of hyper-rage. He asks, "Do you know what Luxan hyperrage is?" John replies, "Yes, I do. Do you know what a 'crock' is?" Macton tells him that hyperrage causes blackouts and D'Argo may not remember doing it.

Answer: A Charrid

Rygel takes on the Hynerian's greatest nemesis, a Charrid, and defeats him, though he falls into a coma from the effort. John goes to save Rygel during the fight, but Katoya knocks both he and D'Argo out and John is then moved to "remedial training."

Answer: The Bridge on the River Kwai

John whistles the tune "Colonel Bogey March" which was featured greatly in "The Bridge on the River Kwai." John is in a cage with hot coals under him, to train him to deal with Scarrans. Katoya gives John the key... by dropping it onto the coals.

Answer: The Cat in the Hat Comes Back

John, visited in his cell by Scorpius, is told by his nemesis that he is not safe, that the Scarrans will come for him and his wormhole knowledge and that he can't protect him from them. John says, "Little Cat A - I don't want you to protect me because, Little Cat B - you haven't been doing such a bang up job of that in the first place which brings us to Little Cat C - Get me out of here!" This references the book "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" which had a lot of little cats, from A to Z.

Answer: Scorpy-Sue

Scorpius tells John, "Without Katoya's training, when the Scarrans find you, they will take your wormhole knowledge and then they will kill you. I would never allow that." John says, "Ah, Scorpy-Sue, after all we've meant to each other, you'd kill me first." Scorpius adds, "You have such a limited mental capacity, John, but apparently an abundant will to prevail. Well, my advice to you is to use that will right here, right now. Katoya is the only one that can give you the tools to resist the Scarrans!"

Answer: To ban D'Argo and Rygel from the training

Scorpius asks his old mentor for three favors, to intensify John's anti-Scarran training, to do something about Macton before he tries to kill D'Argo, and information on the creature who attacked John's family on Earth.

Answer: Lo'Laan killed herself

Macton kills Katoya while he is in the sphere with D'Argo, showing him that D'Argo had once hit his wife in a rage. Macton enters the sphere and shows D'Argo images of Lo'Laan killing herself to escape D'Argo's beatings. Macton leaves D'Argo in a rage, chained like he used to be on Moya, leaving him to be there forever. D'Argo uses his training to control his rage and then takes on Macton, showing him his past, the truth about what happened. Macton told his sister he was going to have D'Argo arrested, but she tries to stab him with a knife and he reacts, killing her. To frame D'Argo for it, he beats her dead body savagely to make it look like a Luxan in hyperrage did it. D'Argo leaves him stuck there, still punching and crying.
