Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the reason the crew ventures to a core planet?

Answer: To drop off Inara

Inara, as a Guild Companion, is required to undergo a physical examination every year. This is also the site of a heist, but they don't plan it until they've landed.
2. Who crafts the master of all jobs?

Answer: Simon

For a once well-respected doctor, Simon is actually a genius when it comes to inside jobs. As a doctor, he's familiar with the value of medicine and he harnesses that knowledge to benefit the crew.
3. What's the street value of the drug Propoxyn?

Answer: 80 credits

Simon begins his briefing of the plan by showing them some drugs and telling them how much they could get by selling them on the street. The immune booster Isoprobyline was worth about 20 credits, Propoxyn was worth 80 credits, and Hydrozypan was worth 200.
4. In Simon's words, where did he plan to get himself and his sister into the facility?

Answer: Through the front door

Mal: "You and your sister are tagged fugitives. How do you plan on getting inside?"
Simon: "Through the front door."
5. In order to get Simon and River, posing as corpses, Mal, Zoe and Jayne had to describe how they were too late to save them. Which line of dialogue was Zoe responsible for?

Answer: "We tried pulmonary stimulators and cardiac infusors."

Mal was responsible for describing the state the patients were in, "patients were cyanotic and not responsive and we were unable to resuscitate them.", Zoe had to state the methods they tried, "Pulmonary stimulators", and Jayne was meant to respond to a follow-up question concerning more tools.
6. While Mal, Zoe and Jayne rehearsed their speech, what were Wash and Kaylee doing?

Answer: Preparing the shuttle

Simon had also gotten together a list of necessary items for sneaking into the hospital and among them was a vehicle to ferry the officials and corpses. The one Wash and Kaylee find is not up to code, so they fix it and paint it up.
7. What is missing from River's brain?

Answer: amygdala

The amygdala, as Simon describes, allows us to filter out any unwanted thought in our brain. Unfortunately, as River no longer has one, "she feels everything."
8. Who calls the feds on Simon and River?

Answer: Jayne

Jayne gets a little fed up with River after she slices his chest with a butcher's knife. He makes a deal with the Alliance to trade Simon and River for a substantial reward, but the feds double-cross him and arrest him as well.
9. The mysterious "Hands of Blue" reach Simon and River before they can escape from the hospital.

Answer: False

The "Hands of Blue" operatives, first seen at the end of the episode "The Train Job", come to the hospital to take the fugitives to justice, armed with an unusual device that causes all the blood in the body to pour out of the nose, fingernails and eyes, causing a very messy death. But Simon, River, and Jayne evade the "Hands of Blue" thanks to Mal and Zoe.
10. What does Mal threaten Jayne with when they return from the hospital?

Answer: Suffocating in space

No one knows who alerted the feds to Simon and River's presence on Ariel, but Mal gets suspicious of Jayne after they mysteriously disappear. He puts two and two together and traps Jayne in the airlock, threatening to leave him to the vaccuum of space for being a traitor to the crew of Serenity.

Jayne: "What are you taking it so personal for? It ain't like I ratted you out to the feds."
Mal: "Oh, but you did. You turn on any of my crew and you turn on me! If it's such a concept you can't seem to wrap your head around, then you got no place here! You did it to me, Jayne, and that's a fact."
Jayne: "What're you gonna tell the others?"
Mal: "About what?"
Jayne: "About why I'm dead."
Mal: "I hadn't thought about it."
Jayne: "Make something up. Don't tell 'em what I did."
