During the battle we are introduced to two of the shows main characters, Mal Reynolds and Zoe Washburne, who are fighting on the side of the resistance.

2. When Mal is trying to inspire Bendis to keep fighting, Bendis tells Mal they are all going to die. Mal responds as follows: "We can't die Bendis, you know why? Because _________."

Answer: we are so very pretty

Mal likes to make comments like these in stressful situations, it probably takes his mind off his impending demise! But as always he seems to get out of sticky situations with his famous charm.

Wash is an excellent pilot with some original moves- in the movie "Serenity" it's a Barn Swallow that saves them, here he does a Crazy Ivan to outfox the Reavers.
