Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Anna Torv plays Agent Olivia Dunham. In the beginning of the first episode we find she is having an affair. Who's the lucky guy?

Answer: John Scott

Mark Valley of "Boston Legal" came in as the show's dead/not dead good/bad guy. He was also featured in two episodes of another Sci-Fi show, "The 4400".
2. We find out that Agent Dunham's lover isn't very lucky after all. While tracking down a suspect, he is exposed to chemicals that cause him to become very ill. We can see straight through his skin! What do the doctors do for him until someone can come up with a cure?

Answer: They put him into a drug-induced coma.

Although his condition worsens in the coma, this prolongs his life. Agent Dunham has no idea how much time she has to try to find a cure.
3. Agent Dunham investigates further and finds a person who may be able to help. His name is Doctor Walter Bishop, and he once worked for the government researching "fringe science". But there's a problem. She can't just go get him. Why not?

Answer: He is institutionalized.

An accident at the lab killed one of his co-workers, and he was sent to a mental hospital shortly after that. He hasn't seen his son in 17 years.
4. Agent Dunham has to enlist the help of Doctor Bishop's son, Peter. He is also hard to find. Where does she find him?

Answer: Baghdad

He's making a sales pitch to two Iraqi businessmen. She has to threaten him to get him to come with her.
5. Doctor Bishop mentions that he used to work with William Bell. Dunham and Peter both recognize the name. He is the founder of what largely-named company?

Answer: Massive Dynamics

Massive Dynamics is apparently a very influential company in the world of "Fringe". In this episode, it is implied that someone in the company is using technology in a possibly-unpleasant fashion.
6. Doctor Bishop insists that he'll need his old lab to run tests. Where is it?

Answer: The basement at Harvard

Throughout the show, his lab is located in "the" basement of Harvard. Apparently in the world of "Fringe", Harvard has only one building.
7. There's no way to cure Dunham's lover without knowing what exploded. The victim is the only person who saw the guy, and he's in a coma. How does Dr. Bishop propose they find out what the victim saw?

Answer: Someone shares brainwaves with him.

Agent Dunham has to do a lot of dangerous things including taking LSD and inserting a metal rod into her brain. The "shine a light in his brain" idea came from the Will Smith move "Wild Wild West".
8. The identity of the bomber leads Dunham to William Bell's company. There she meets the executive director, Nina Sharp. Sharp assumes Dunham knows about a series of "fringe science" phenomena that have been occurring. What is this series called?

Answer: The Pattern

Dunham had not heard of The Pattern, to Sharp's apparent surprise. She also shows Dunham her mechanical arm.
9. Dunham and company catch up with the guy who knows the list of chemicals. Unfortunately, he's uncooperative. Which "unauthorized" character convinces him to cooperate?

Answer: Peter

Peter smashes his fingers with a coffee mug. This is apparently a good way to get information out of him.
10. The team saves the day and saves Dunham's lover. Why is this ironic?

Answer: Her lover is revealed as a "bad guy".

As it turns out, he was seemingly working for the wrong side all along. His dying words to her are, "Ask yourself why Broyles sent you to the storage facility." (Of course, we find out later he may not have been so bad. This is the according to the pilot.)
