She then moved out of the house when Emily wasn't home. Richard was away on a business trip but found Colin and Finn carrying boxes out of the house and they informed him that Rory moved out. She said that she would be proud because Rory was just like Lorelai used to be.

Jackson was mad that Lorelai knew because he said that it was none of her business. Lorelai's heel broke, so she asked Dean to step in and dance with Rory in her place. Everything was going fine, but Rory kept staring at Jess and insulting him. Jess told Rory that she should be paying attention to her boyfriend, but Dean said that she couldn't do that because he wasn't her boyfriend anymore. Rory ran off the dance floor, thus leaving Kirk to win the trophy.

They fought again about Christopher when she got a voice mail from him, but she immediately turned off the answering machine when Luke walked into the room. The argument didn't last very long and their relationship was going great for a little while.

Then she asked Luke to elope with her, but he said no. She was devastated and went over to Christopher's and spent the night. Luke went to apologize to her the next day and said that he would agree to eloping if she wanted to, but it was too late. She told him about going over to Christopher's. He went over and punched Christopher in the face and that was the end of Lorelai and Luke's relationship for good.
