Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following is true about Isaac Q. Newton?

Answer: He was a vice principal of a junior high school.

Rose asked Isaac if he wanted to be an astronaut. That wasn't the case. Isaac Q. Newton did NOT place an ad in the personals column so Rose could respond to it. It is true that Blanche did use the name Isaac Newton to respond to Rose's personal ad BUT that selection does not even answer the question.

Besides, Blanche didn't know that it was exactly "Isaac Q. Newton." The real Isaac Q. Newton, however, told Rose that he was a school vice-principal.
2. According to Blanche and Rose, which of the following things were wrong about Dorothy's body? (I) Turkey-like neck. (II) Has a hump. (III) Non-existent bosom. (IV) Spare Tire.

Answer: I, III, and IV

Rose was proving to Blanche that she knew things about fashion. Dorothy came out and asked both of them which necklace would be better for the dress she was wearing. Rose and Blanche were arguing about which necklace looks better, pointing out that certain necklaces accentuate I, III, or IV. II was mentioned by Dorothy herself.

She finally got angry and said that she would spray paint the message "Too Ugly To Live" on her hump. So, the truth is "I, II, and III."
3. Fill in the blanks: Dorothy: "I would kill _____ if she wrote about my sexual ____." Sophia: "Kill your _____ over a[n] _____?"

Answer: Gloria escapades sister pamphlet

It was the episode when Blanche thought that her sister Charmaigne was writing about her. Dorothy thought that Blanche was taking things well, contrasting what she would do to her sister Gloria if Gloria wrote about her scarce sexual escapades. Sophia then responds, "Kill your sister over a pamphlet?" to accentuate Dorothy's boring life.
4. When Sophia brought Raoul to the banquet, which of the following is true about the scene?

Answer: Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy were sick.

Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy were sure that one of them is to get the award. Although they were all sick, they went anyway to see that one of them would get it. It was also the scene where Sophia brings a guy less than half her age with her for her date. Stan wasn't at the scene. Rose had a date. It was Blanche that didn't have one.
5. Sophia is convinced that Rose killed Mrs. Claxton. According to the portion she said that Rose would pay, about what percent of the total funeral bill Blanche would pay? Assume that Rose pays more than everybody else and the remaining three women share the remaining expenses equally.

Answer: 17%

Sophia said that Rose should pay half because Rose killed Mrs. Claxton. If Rose would pay half of it, then the other 50% would be shared equally between Sophia, Dorothy, and Blanche. 50 divided by 3 is about 16.67%, rounding up to about 17%. If Blanche would pay the same amount as Sophia and Dorothy would, she would only have to pay about 17% of the funeral expenses.
6. What was the name of the funeral home Mr. Pfeiffer worked in?

Answer: "Forever Peaceful"

When the girls went inside the funeral home to arrange Mrs. Claxton's funeral, Mr. Pfeiffer specifically told them the name of the funeral home. Mr. Pfeiffer said, "Here at 'Forever Peaceful', we got rid of all that morbid death stuff." The "Avante Supreme" was actually the name of one of the models of coffins at Forever Peaceful. "In Good Hands" and "Peaceful Rest" were just made up to fill two choices.
7. According to Sophia, by what basis did Sicilians decide who was going to marry who?

Answer: Height

Sophia specifically said that they arranged marriages according to height. If Sophia didn't stand on the rock, she would've ended up with Luigi, the pig boy.
8. When Dorothy cancelled her wedding with Stan, where was the honeymoon originally going to be?

Answer: Aruba

Dorothy still had the tickets to the honeymoon she planned to go to with Stan. She later invited her mother to go with her to Aruba, where the ticket would take them. Sophia said that she loved Aruba, not even knowing where it was.
9. What instrument did Dorothy play in the marching band when she was 16?

Answer: Accordion

Blanche told them what it was like when she was 16. Dorothy then told them all that when she was 16, she had acne, and played the accordion in the marching band.
10. What is Big Daddy's first name?

Answer: Curtis

Blanche said his name when she read her family history for the "Daughters of the Old South" club.
