Caroline didn't want Miles to date Rose because her mother had only been dead a year. When Miles found out he told Rose and Caroline that it was his life and he wanted to date Rose.
2. What was the name of the boxer Sophia bought?

Answer: Kid Pepe

Sophia was suppose to use some extra money to buy a CD for all of them, but instead she bought a boxer. The girls found out he really wanted to be a classic violinist. They tell him to take a dive so he doesn't ruin his hands, but he ends up getting knocked out and has temporary amnesia.

At his audition for Julliard he doesn't know he plays the violin, and Dorothy prompts him into doing a scene from "The Merchant of Venice".
3. What was the name of the famous artist the girls buy a painting from?

Answer: Jasper DeKimmel

DeKimmel is a popular modern artist the girls meet at a gallery one evening. The man is very rude to the girls and they leave very angry with him. The roof is leaking and the girls need to raise money to get it fixed. Sophia finds out DeKimmel only has two days to live.

The girls find out that some of his work will be auctioned off and they decide to buy one of his paintings hoping that it will go up in value after he dies and they can make the money they need from that. In the end Sophia donates the blood DeKimmel needs and he lives.

They end up trading the painting to the roofer in exchange for him fixing it.

Answer: Jimmy

Jimmy was played by Martin Mull. Martin is a wonderful character actor who has guest starred on many sitcoms including, "Roseanne", "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman", and "Fernwood 2Nite".
5. What was the name of the hooker Rose met in jail?

Answer: Meg

The girls were arrested for prostitution at a cheap hotel they were staying at. One of the girls in the cell with them was from Minnesota. Rose has a long talk with her about St. Olaf and the innocence of that area. Meg comes to visit Rose the next day to tell her she is giving up prostitution and going back home. Rose thinks it's because of their talk, but Meg tells her it's because she doesn't want to still be a hooker at Rose's age.
6. What was the name of the Japanese gardener Sophia liked?

Answer: Mr. Mitsumo

The girls decide to go on a vacation and leave Sophia at home. Sophia invites Mr. Mitsumo over for dinner and a little romance. Even though he doesn't speak English very well, they get along just fine. They even share a very sweet kiss.

Rose and Sophia decide to sell sandwiches near the boardwalk. One of the vendors there is Johnny No-Thumbs. He sends his thugs after Sophia and Rose to try and scare them away. It doesn't work, and Sophia returns the threat. Johnny sends them flowers to apologize. They realize they aren't making any money and stop selling the sandwiches.

It was Valentine's Day and the girls thought they had been dumped by all of their dates. Sophia had actually set it up to look like that, and then surprised them all and had their dates arrive at the same time. After they all left, Julio showed up to take Sophia out on the town.

Answer: Frank

Dorothy met Father Frank at a youth fair she was working on. She didn't know Frank was a priest and she invited him over for dinner. They had a nice evening and they became very close. Frank told Dorothy he was leaving the church. Dorothy thought he meant he was leaving for her, but it turned out he was only leaving his parish to become a teaching priest.
10. Who was always Blanche's back-up date?

Answer: Mel Bushman

Mel Bushman was played by Alan King. Whenever Blanche needed a date or was without a steady boyfriend she would call Mel. He was always there for her and he would always say "Bushman awaits".
