Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 16: "Unexpected" When up on the rooftop with Claude, what ability does Peter unlock in order to avoid being hit with Claude's staff?

Answer: Sylar's telekinesis

The title of the episode refers to this very confrontation between Peter and Claude in which Claude waves around the staff and says "Do... something... UNEXPECTED!" only to have Peter stop the staff telekinetically.
2. Episode 17: "Company Man" It is revealed in this episode that Mr. Bennet had a partner many years ago upon joining "The Company". Who was his partner?

Answer: Claude

In a meeting with his boss, Thompson says that they pair non-powered people with "one of them" (referring to people with abilities) in a way to keep everyone honest. It is then revealed that Bennet's partner is already in the room, having been cloaked using his invisibility.
3. Episode 18: "Parasite" Isaac is so devastated at the loss of Simone that he goes back to using heroin. In doing so, he paints an image of someone with their head cut open and brain removed. Who did he paint?

Answer: Isaac Mendez

Isaac paints his own death in the manner similar to Sylar's victims. Understanding the inevitability of his paintings, eventually Isaac accepts his fate.
4. Episode 19: ".07%" The title of this episode represents what, as mentioned by Mr. Linderman?

Answer: The percentage of people who would die if the bomb exploded.

Peter seems not to care that he could survive the explosion because of the vast number of people who would die. Linderman states that .07%, or approximately half the population of New York City, is "an acceptable loss".
5. Episode 20: "Five Years Gone" What is NOT true about the alternate future shown in this episode?

Answer: Sylar was the bomb that exploded New York City

It is revealed or implied that Sylar killed Candice Wilmer, D.L. Hawkins, and Nathan Petrelli. He has been using Candice's power of illusion to disguise himself as Nathan Petrelli and rule as president.
6. Episode 21: "The Hard Part" Molly Walker is re-introduced in this episode and her ability is revealed. What is she capable of doing?

Answer: She can see and locate anyone by thinking about them

Her ability is described as Clairvoyance or Remote Viewing. Upon thinking about that person, she holds a thumbtack above a map and can pinpoint the exact location of that person.
7. Episode 22: "Landslide" What ability does Sylar gain in this episode?

Answer: Radiation manipulation

Just as Ted Sprague is being escorted out of the city in an armed police van, Sylar telekinetically flips the van. He opens the rear door and cuts his head open as Ted screams in agony.
8. Episode 23: "How to Stop an Exploding Man" In the season one finale, Peter is set to explode. How is the destruction of New York City prevented?

Answer: Peter is flown high into the air, exploding far from harm's way

Peter's brother Nathan flies down in order to help save the world from mass destruction. He flies Peter high into the atmosphere so as to prevent the deaths of millions.
9. Episode 24: "Four Months Later..." Four months have passed since the events at Kirby Plaza. What is NOT true about Peter's part of the story?

Answer: He has a large scar across his face

The large scar shown on Peter's face in "Five Years Gone" is not present in this episode, but he does indeed wake up in Cork, Ireland with no memories and a strange new ability involving electricity.
10. Episode 25: "Lizards" Claire Bennet cuts off her little toe to see if it will grow back. Does it?

Answer: Yes

This stems from a discussion in Biology class about the regenerative powers of lizards.
11. Episode 26: "Kindred" It is revealed in this episode as to who pulled Sylar off of Kirby Plaza in the events of the season 1 finale. Who does this?

Answer: Candice

To avoid being caught by the police, Candice Wilmer now goes by the name of Michelle, having used her power of illusion to create a new identity. However, by the episode's end, she is killed by Sylar.
12. Episode 27: "The Kindness of Strangers" In this episode, the ability of a new character is revealed. She has what is described as "adoptive muscle memory", the ability to replicate any physical motion she witnesses without having to practice it. What is this character's first name?

Answer: Monica

Monica Dawson, played by Dana Davis, is later brought in by The Company in an attempt to analyze her ability. However, it is revealed that she was also brought there as a test subject for a new serum that may remove her abilities.
13. Episode 28: "Fight or Flight" Maury Parkman traps Nathan and Matt into two separate mental illusions. In Nathan's illusion, he is on the roof of the Deveaux Building in a post-bomb New York, where he meets and fights someone. Whom does he fight?

Answer: Himself

In the illusion, he meets and fights a horribly burned version of himself. The burned version is how Nathan looked after flying his radioactive brother Peter out of New York City.
14. Episode 29: "The Line" At the episode's end, Peter teleports himself and Caitlin from Montreal to New York City, where the city has been evacuated. What year is it in this deserted future?

Answer: 2008

The events of the next episode show that a virus has lead to a mass evacuation of the city, as well as other surrounding areas.
15. Episode 30: "Out of Time" Who is Takezo Kensei revealed to be in modern time?

Answer: Adam Monroe

At the episode's end, Peter is distracted by a noise coming from behind him. He swings around and shoots a bolt of electricity in the direction of the noise. A hand appears to stop the bolt, leaving the flesh charred and blackened, but instantly regenerates a moment later. Takezo Kensei appears from behind the wall, revealing himself to be the mysterious Adam Monroe, whom Peter still does not recognize.

Well, that's it. Thanks for playing. Hope you enjoyed it. Look for Part 3 to appear after 45 episodes have aired.
