Before Edie Falco achieved fame as a mobster's wife on 'The Sopranos' she regularly appeared in small roles in movies and television shows like 'New York Undercover' and 'Law & Order'. In 'Homicide' she played Eva Thormann, the wife of patrol officer Chris Thormann who was wounded in the season one episode called "Son of a Gun".

She reprised this role several more times throughout the series.

Larry Molera was Detective Bolander's wood working neighbor that was constantly hammering away in his apartment.

Jim was arrested but avoided a trial when the Grand Jury did not indict.

When police found his grandfather dead, ripped apart by his pet pit bulls, the homicide unit had to determine if it was an accident or if the dogs had been intentionally used as deadly weapons. Harry Tjarks only cared about his dogs.

When he was told his dogs killed his grandfather, he didn't care. When he was told that his own father wished that Harry had been killed instead, he didn't care. Only when Detective Falsone told him that his dogs would have to be euthanized for killing a human being did he get upset. Ultimately, he was not charged with his grandfather's death.

To find the right man and to clear his name Knoll teamed up with Detective Bayliss and Agent Giardello and followed the suspect all the way to Florida where he was ultimately captured.
