Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Psych" starred James Roday and Dulé Hill as Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster (Gus). This show had lots of quirks and inside jokes. One item appeared in every episode. What was it?

Answer: A pineapple

While you will not see Alfred Hitchcock, there was an episode that paid tribute to Hitchcock's movies. Listen closely to the theme song. It occasionally changed words or style to fit with a particular episode. My favorite version was in Spanish.
2. "Psych" episodes usually included Shawn Spencer's father. What long time TV star played him? He once played a womanizing lawyer.

Answer: Corbin Bernsen

Corbin Bernsen of "L.A. Law" (1986-1994) played grumpy Henry Spencer, former policeman. The episodes often began with flashbacks of when Sean and Gus were boys. Corbin then appeared as a younger Henry by wearing a toupee.
3. Which character on "White Collar" was a great con artist, escaped from prison, and ended up working with the FBI?

Answer: Neal Caffrey

Neal Caffrey was played by handsome Matt Bomer. Caffrey was a great asset to the FBI, but was often tempted to return to his old ways. He usually had his own agenda which may or may not have been the same as his boss' Peter Burke.
4. "Suits" was a legal drama set at a law firm in Manhattan. Choose the name of the boss of the law firm?

Answer: Jessica Pearson

Gina Torres played Jessica, head of Pearson Hardman. Torres was in the very popular sci-fi series "Firefly" (2002-2003). Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) was one of the weaseliest characters I've seen in a long time.
5. The series "In Plain Sight" was set in a city rarely used as a location for TV crime dramas. It is the largest city in New Mexico.

Answer: Albuquerque

The main character, Mary McCormack was a U.S. Marshall for the Federal Witness Protection Program. Despite having her personal life in chaos, she excelled at her job.
6. In the series "Fairly Legal," Kate Reed was the daughter of the founder of the law firm Reed and Reed, but she gave up being an attorney. Instead her job became conflict resolution in order for clients to avoid going to court. What was her new job title?

Answer: mediator

Kate was divorced but still involved with her ex-husband. Her father, the founder of the law firm, died but her very young step-mother became her boss. Their relationship was very testy. Judge David Nicastro was another character who made Kate's life difficult. He was played by popular actor Gerald McRaney.
7. Michael Westen was the main character on "Burn Notice." What seemed to be his favorite food?

Answer: yogurt

About the only thing to be found in Michael's refrigerator in his bare loft apartment was a few cups of yogurt. Yogurt was often mentioned in conversations as well.

Michael Westen played by Jeffrey Donovan was a spy who was "burned" and dumped in his home town of Miami, where he used his skills to help people.

Incorrect answer "mojitos" seemed to be buddy Sam Axe's favorite drink although most anything alcoholic would please him.
8. "Covert Affairs," featured Annie Walker as a spy in the classic tradition. What spy organization did she work for?

Answer: CIA

Annie Walker was played by Piper Perabo. The series began with her being recruited for an assignment while still in training. Among her many talents Annie had excellent linguistic skills.
9. Hank Lawson was a doctor in the Hamptons on the series "Royal Pains." What kind of doctor was he?

Answer: concierge

Another name for concierge doctor is direct care physician. Hank went to the patient. He didn't have an office. Promos for the series refer to him as a "medical MacGyver."
10. In later seasons, the series "Royal Pains" introduced the father and then the grandfather of brothers Hank and Evan Lawson. Both characters are played by very popular TV stars from the 1970s and 1980s.

Answer: Henry Winkler and Ed Asner

Henry Winkler (the Fonz) from "Happy Days" (1974-1984) joined the show as a slightly shady father who abandoned the boys when they were young. Ed Asner (Lou Grant) from the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1970-1977) and "Lou Grant" (1977-1982) appeared in the 2011 season as their rich grandfather who had been estranged from their father Eddie since Eddie married Hank and Evan's mother.
