Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the "new neighbors" in episode 21?

Answer: The O'Briens

The O'Briens move into the apartment and the one thing Lucy and Ethel are set on doing is snooping. Ricky forbids Lucy to set foot into the O'Briens apartment, but she does anyway. She hears them make a plan to blow up the Capitol. They were really actors, but because of Lucy's intutition the Mertzes and Ricardos end up in jail.
2. What was Ricky's last name on the marriage license?

Answer: Bicardi

In real life, Desi Arnaz's maternal grandfather was one of the founders of Bacardi Rum.
3. Lucy puts 6 cakes of yeast in the 8 ft loaf of bread.

Answer: False

Lucy puts 13 cakes in the bread when the recipe called for only 3. The bread that was used was real and made specially for the show at Union Made Bakery Company. After the taping of the episode, the bread was cut up and divided for everyone to take home.
4. In "The Freezer", how much does Lucy say bacon is?

Answer: 75 cents per pound

Without Ricky's permission, Lucy and Ethel buy a freezer so they can buy meat in bulk. They order two sides of beef. They try to sell some of it at a butcher shop, but to no avail. When Ricky wants to see the freezer, Lucy runs down to hide the meat and gets locked in the freezer!
5. What is the product Lucy sells in "Lucy Does A TV Commercial"?

Answer: Vitameatavegamin

One of the best episodes of the show. Lucy schemes her way into being the Vitameatavegamin Girl. Rehearsing with a tonic that contains 23% alcohol, she becomes a little woozy. By the time the show comes around, she is completely drunk and ruins Ricky's number.
6. What is the name of the episode when the men and the women trade places and the women work in a candy factory?

Answer: "Job Switching"

Another one of the best episodes of the series. The men and women switch jobs, and the women end up in Kramer's Kandy Kitchen. After working in different departments they end up in the wrapping department. Then all hell breaks loose in one of the funniest comedic skits in tv history!
7. How long were the Mertzes married in "The Courtroom"?

Answer: 25 years

The Ricardos suprise the Mertzes with a new tv set for their 25th wedding anniversary. When Ricky blows it, Fred stomps upstairs and kicks in the screen of the Ricardo's set. They sue each other and end up in court. When Lucy and Ethel lie on the stand, the judge teaches them that friendship is more important than a tv set.
8. When Lucy finds out she is "expecting", where does she tell Ricky?

Answer: at the Tropicana

Real emotion shows through on this episode. When Lucy finds out she is "expecting", she has a perfect way to tell Ricky. Unfortunately, problems at the club interrupt Ricky's lunch and she can't tell him. When she goes down to the club to tell him the first time, she chickens out and leaves crying.

When she goes to the Tropicana again, she leaves an anonymous note for Ricky to sing "We're having a baby". He finally realizes it's Lucy after looking through the crowd, and the scene ends with the couple in tears.
9. The name of the English tutor was Mr. Livermore.

Answer: True

Lucy is ashamed of her and Ricky's English. She hires Mr. Livermore to give the Ricardos and the Mertzes English lessons so the baby grow up speaking proper English. Without the knowledge of Lucy, Ricky and the tutor make a deal: Mr. Livermore can sing at the club if the English lessons stop.
10. What was the date of the birth of Ricky Ricardo Jr. and Desi IV?

Answer: January 19, 1953

An historic event on television, no woman had ever been pregnant and had a baby on TV. Lucy is due any minute and the others are watching her like a hawk. When Lucy tells them to relax, they go back to their duties. Lucy comes out of the bedroom saying this is it and it is pure bedlam. One of the best comedic skits of all time.

When each takes each other's job, they rush out of the apartment forgetting Lucy. Over seventy percent of the televisions in America were watching the show. It was watched by more people than the inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.

The news was even on the front page of the newspaper.
