Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "There's no way to get me on that boat!"

Answer: Fred

In the episode "Staten Island Ferry", Fred got nervous at the large sea voyage to Europe in the week ahead. He had had some bad experiences in the past on boats including bouts of sea sickness and what he claims as having "a bayonet in his back" from his top-sargeant to get him on a ship during WW1.
2. "I am not the father of that cheese!"

Answer: Ricky

In "Return Home from Europe", Lucy had a present for her mother but could not take it on the plane due to weight restrictions. But, in typical Lucy style, disguised the 25 pound cheese as a baby, thinking that babies travelled for free. Once the first plan failed, she hid the cheese in Ricky's orchestral instruments to avoid being caught. But inevitably, she was.
3. "Never do business with friends or relatives!"

Answer: Ricky

Ricky was very worried about selling his old washing machine to the Mertzes in the episode "Never do Business with Friends" for fear it might cause problems in the friendship should anything happen to the machine after it is sold. As the story would have it, the machine does break down and they fight. But the producers always managed to bring them back together again.
4. "I used to be a Rudolph Valentino fan. Now I'm a Ricky Ricardo fan."

Answer: Mrs. Trumble

Following Ricky's success in Hollywood in "Homecoming", members of the local neighbourhood gathered together at their apartment complex to honour their local celebrity. As is seen in this quote, Mrs Trumble was certainly one of the more outspoken of those members.
5. "Who's Joe Maggio?"

Answer: Little Ricky

In "Lucy and Bob Hope", Fred was giving Little Ricky baseball tips and said he could be as good as Joe DiMaggio! But, well trained by his father, allows the Cuban pronunciation to come through in his naming of this famous baseball player.
6. "I am terribly sorry to disappoint you ladies but I think you've made a mistake...my name is Maurice, Maurice Dubois."

Answer: Charles Boyer

This was another one of Ricky's schemes in order for Lucy to avoid catastrophe in front of celebrities. In "Lucy Meets Charles Boyer", the famous French actor posed as a look-alike western actor in order for them to stop taking notice of him.
7. "Did you hear about the fire in the shoe factory? 200 soles were lost!"

Answer: Fred

Fred mentioned this joke to Lucy. Then Lucy used it at a show that Ricky had a large role in. It was intended that Lucy would ask the question and Ricky would provide the funny answers, but of course Lucy had to have her way and get all of the attention. Why? As a payback to Ricky for giving her an inferior role in his show.
8. "I stopped once to go into a candy store. By the time I got out, your buggy had rolled all the way down the hill, and was right in the middle of the street stopping traffic!"

Answer: Helen Kaiser

Having 'lost' her Birth Certificate in "The Passports", Lucy needed an "older living blood relative" or somebody who knew her when she was born to sign an Affidavit stating that they knew when and where she was born. Helen and Lucy were reminiscing over old times in Jamestown just before Lucy got her to sign it.

This line was quoted just before Helen lied about her age in front of her husband because she did not want him to know that she was older than Lucy.
9. "You weren't born in Jamestown. You were born in West Jamestown."

Answer: Dr Peterson

Dr Peterson gave her this news in "The Passports", dispelling all her fears about not being officially born.
10. "I'm going to Europe, I don't have time for 10 years in a penitentiary!"

Answer: Lucy

In "Ricky's European Booking", Lucy was caught by the Disrict Attorney's Office for selling tickets under false pretense for the Ladies Overseas' Aid, a false charity they started in order to get $3000 to go to Europe. The representative outlined that if she was proven guilty of the crime she might have to serve 10 years in a state penitentiary.

However, Lucy and Ethel's costs were covered as a result of Ricky's band playing on the ship they would be on.
