Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who tipped off Henricksen to the Winchesters' location?

Answer: Bela

The men searched her room and she called them there. Dean told her she was risking a lot of lives by selling the Colt to the highest bidder, and she informed he that he really didn't know her at all. I guess she is more than just a thief for hire. While on the phone, she told Dean that he and Sam would find themselves quite occupied momentarily and hung up.

The FBI busted in and arrested them just afterward. Charles Malik Whitfield reprised his role as Victor Henricksen. The agent had dealt with Sam and Dean in "Nightshifter" and "Folsom Prison Blues", and then men had the chance to make him a believer before he was killed at the end of this episode.
2. In which Colorado town where the men apprehended and taken into custody?

Answer: Monument

The sheriff's office was a small warehouse like building, insinuating that the town is small. In 2007 the town did indeed have a population of less than 3,000. Henricksen commandeered the police force to hold the Winchesters while he waited for his boss, Steven Groves, to arrive with a helicopter.

The town is located between Colorado Springs and Denver, and the police building IS a small building very similar to the one shown in this episode.
3. FBI Deputy Director Steven Groves came into the jail and shot Dean.

Answer: True

I knew right off he was possessed, before he even arrived. He hit Dean in the shoulder, and Sam grabbed a hold of the man before he could kill both of them. He began chanting out an exorcism and finally the demon abandoned Steven's body. Unfortunately, the agent was dead when the demon left his body. Dean told Henricksen that Steven had probably been dead for weeks. Peter Deluise played the ill-fated Steven Groves.
4. What did the men use to bless the toilet water inside their cell?

Answer: a rosary

As they were being escorted into the jail, the men met Nancy Fitzgerald. She was the police secretary and seemed very timid, though her eyes reflected something more than that. Dean noticed her silver cross necklace and the rosary she held in hand. Later, when she came to talk to them, Sam convinced her to bring Dean a towel for his bullet wound.

When she approached the bars, Sam jerked her close and took her rosary with the towel. This came in quite handy after Henricksen became possessed. Sam held Henricksen's head down in the water and chanted, and the demon finally made a quickie getaway. Victor became a believer after that experience.

While possessed, he killed the sheriff Melvin Dodd.
5. After a quick trip to the impound lot, Dean returned with supplies from the Impala and necklaces to guard against further possession. How were Sam and Dean already guarded against such a fate?

Answer: the men had tattoos on their chest

After handing out the necklaces, the men pulled back their shirt to reveal a special tattoo each had on the left side of their chest. While Dean had been retrieving supplies, the rest of the group had been applying salt at all entrances and Sam had painted a devil's trap on the floor of each one. Dean got back inside the building just as a storm of demons (smoke form) attacked them.

The demon inside Henricksen had warned them, before departing, that it was too late as he'd already "called them".
6. After their applying salt and painting devil's traps, Ruby was the first demon to get inside the police department.

Answer: True

When the demons couldn't make their way inside, they infested the townsfolk instead. Deputy Phil Amici used a chair to look outside of a high window, and in the process broke the salt line at that window. Ruby busted through it, but was instantly caught in Sam's devil's trap. Sam allowed her out of it, as she claimed to have a plan to get them out alive.

Stoney Westmoreland played Phil Amici.
7. Which of these was *NOT* true about Ruby's plan/spell to save the people inside the police station?

Answer: Everyone inside had to shave their heads

Ruby needed a virgin's heart to complete the spell, and Nancy admitted she was one. When she had a bit of a chance to think, she stopped the huge argument going on and said she would be willing. She had always taken the devil seriously when she was younger, though her parents had asked her not to do so. Everyone seemed to be OK with Nancy's decision, except for Dean.

He said that he would not agree to it, so Ruby left and they implemented a new plan. Dean's stance of not sacrificing an innocent for the greater good plays into the title of the episode.

The term 'jus in bello' refers to the rules of warfare. One of the rules is to protect civilians (or innocents), a tact not taken into account during the Iraq war during and after the American "Shock and Awe" campaign.
8. Which of these was *NOT* true about the plan Dean and Sam executed to save everyone in the police station?

Answer: All of these are true

Phil and Nancy hid atop of the police station while Sam, Dean and Henricksen lured the demons inside. Once all of the demons had entered, the pair came down and salted them all inside. Well, all but one was locked in. One remained outside, a large black man housed one last demon and Nancy saw his demon eyes right before he ran off. She of little experience didn't think to mention it to anyone, as the force fed exorcism seemed to work so well. The rest of the demons, unable to escape, poured out of the human bodies during the loud speaker rendition of the exorcism chant. They gathered and swirled in a cloud of angry black smoke near the ceiling until the exorcism chant sent them all back to hell. After Sam and Dean left, the lead demon returned and finished off Nancy, Phil and Agent Henricksen.

Aimee Garcia played Nancy Fitzgerald.
9. Is it true, that after the battle Agent Henricksen planned to tell the FBI that the Winchesters were dead?

Answer: Yes

Victor told Sam and Dean that they were dead, had died in the helicopter explosion and burned beyond even dental recognition. That was his gift to them, since they had save his life more than once that night. We did see him pick up the phone to make the call, but the scene was cut just afterward. So, we do not yet know if arranged their official deaths. We did see news footage that reported their deaths, but no names were given in that news report.
10. I saved the creepiest question for last. What was unique about the demon Lilith, who came to visit the police station near the end?

Answer: she was a very young girl

Lilith came in, with an older woman, asking about two cute boys, the Winchesters. Then, her eyes turned white (demons usually go black) and she enacted her anger. She blew up the building, not seen on screen, and the news reported it as a gas explosion. Ruby came to Sam and Dean and alerted them to the incident. Lilith, as the creepy young girl, brings to mind of some other creepy youngsters. The keeper of the White Room in season three and four of "Angel", the Red Queen (Michaela Dicker) from the first "Resident Evil" and the White Queen (Madeline Carroll) from "Resident Evil: Extinction", Samara (Daveigh Chase) from "The Ring", Danny Torrance (Danny Lloyd) from the first "Shining", and two roles by Jesse James- Tommy Miller ("Butterfly Effect") and Ryan ("Angel" season one "I've Got You Under My Skin").

Jessica Moore was Sam's girlfriend, killed in the first episode by Yellow Eyes. She was played by Adrianne Palicki, who went to star as Tyra Collette on two seasons of "Friday Night Lights".
Rachel Pattee played Lilith. She also starred as young DG from the Sci-Fi mini-series "Tin Man".
