Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cotton Hill is cantankerous, crude and very prejudiced, but somehow manages to also be somewhat loveable. Who is the voice behind this very enigmatic 'King of the Hill' character?

Answer: Toby Huss

Toby Huss is not only the voice of Cotton Hill, but he also does the voice of Kahn Souphanousinphone and Joe Jack, among other minor characters. The talented Toby has also appeared in such movies as 'Down Periscope', 'Jerry Maguire' and 'Bedazzled'.
2. What unusual 'L' name is the crotchety Cotton Hill's middle name?

Answer: Lyndal

Cotton Hill was born in 1927, or so he claims. Other than that, we do not know entirely too much about his pre-World War II background. Obviously, he is a proud Texan and was most likely born in that state.
3. Cotton Hill has been married twice during his long and storied life. What was the name of Cotton's first wife, also Hank Hill's mother?

Answer: Tilly

Tilly is a mild-mannered, kindly woman who enjoys gentle hobbies like collecting glass animal figurines. It's hard to believe that she could have ever been married with Cotton, her opposite in almost every respect.
4. After divorcing his first wife, Cotton was married to a much younger woman with very limited intelligence. What is the name of this well-meaning but intellectually challenged lady?

Answer: Didi

Didi is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she seems very friendly and sweet. She is actually the same age as Hank, verifiable by the fact that she attended kindergarten with him.
5. The source of Cotton Hill's greatest pride is his service in the military. During which war did Cotton Hill see his military action?

Answer: World War II

Cotton Hill claims to have seen action in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II, though these claims are questioned by other members of the cast. Suffice it to say, he most certainly saw action during that war, and was decorated with various medals and other honors.
6. During his service in the U.S. military, Cotton Hill was terribly injured. What part(s) of his body did Cotton lose during his war service?

Answer: Shins

Cotton claims to have lost his shins during a battle on a Pacific island against the Japanese. After saving several of his buddies when the Japanese torpedoed his troop ship, he found himself on an island full of 'Tojos'. He claims to have defeated the Japanese in that battle single-handedly, but at the loss of his shins.
7. Cotton Hill is a proud (or in some cases, not-so-proud) father of several kids, but how many children does Cotton have in total (that we know of)?

Answer: 3

Cotton Hill has three sons, one from a Japanese woman, one with his first wife Tilly and one with his current wife Didi. His first son, the one with the Japanese woman, is named Junichiro. His second son is Hank Hill. More on his third son later.
8. Despite the fact that he already has a Hank as a son (namely, the main character Hank Hill), Cotton decided to name the infant child that he had with Didi 'Hank'.

Answer: True

This is Cotton's sadistic side coming through. He decided that his new child 'Hank' would be a replacement for the first 'Hank', with whom he is always disappointed. To make matters worse, the baby is called 'Good Hank', or G.H., while our Hank Hill is known as 'Bad Hank', or B.H.
9. Cotton is known for showing contempt towards people he doesn't like. For example, he is very unfriendly with Peggy Hill. How does he refer to poor Peggy?

Answer: Hank's wife

Cotton and Peggy do not get along, and this is most likely as a result of Cotton's negative attitude towards Hank himself. Even when Cotton is being more civil towards Peggy, he still refers to her as 'Hank's wife', suggesting he may not even know her real name!
10. What world leader does Cotton resent the most, designing not one, but two different plans to assassinate the unwitting dictator?

Answer: Castro

Cotton was in New York City in the late 50s with the intent of killing the visiting Castro. Instead, Hank was born, ruining his plans. Another time, Cotton planned to row a boat to Cuba so that he could personally kill Castro, but Hank stopped him. This only helped put more strain in their relationship!
