"Kitchen Nightmares": Amy's Baking Company Quiz

In 2006, Amy Bouzaglo's husband and partner, Samy, invested in over $1 000 000 to have her dream restaurant take shape. About two years before the episode aired, Amy was getting negative reviews about her restaurant which she called "lies" and that it was hurting her business.

Answer: A customer waited too long for a pizza

A customer and his friends waited for over an hour for a pizza that Amy didn't feel took priority. When they tried to leave, Samy stopped them and insisted they pay for their drinks. Scared that the argument would turn into a fist fight, Amy threatened to call the police. Thankfully, a cameraman stepped in and escorted the customer and his party out of the restaurant before things came to any physical blows.

When Chef Ramsay walks in, he takes his usual tour of the dining room and kitchen. At first, he's blown away as to how gorgeous the decor was and how the cleanliness of the kitchen was up to code. But as he was about to find out, looks can be very deceiving.

When Chef Ramsay had a chit-chat with the Bouzaglos, he learns that they don't allow the restaurant to open without them being there, stating that it's like their child. Ramsay openly states that it's no way to run a business.

Needless to say, all of the problems stemmed from Amy and Samy's attitude. First off, Amy tries to tell Gordon that she had people say that her pizza is the best they ever had, which Ramsay found impossible to believe. Secondly, a waitress named Katy questions which dish goes to which table and Amy tells her to leave, thinking she developed an attitude problem. Ramsay then tells the customers the restaurant's policy on tips which escalates into a profanity-heavy verbal argument between the chef and Samy. And lastly after closing, Amy fires Katy which causes her to leave the premises in tears, in which Amy calls Katy a "poisonous little viper."

Unsurprisingly, both of these former employees described their experience as horrible.

Naturally, Ramsay was shocked with just how many staff members the restaurant went through. But he was going to find out very soon that number would be off.

Ramsay says that he can't help people who can't help themselves and can't take criticism. He tells the Bouzaglos that it's not normal for a restaurant to go through 100 staff members in one year or for a kitchen that size to have 65 menu items. And because they were unwilling to change, he wasn't going to fight them in any way and decided to leave without doing anything to help them.

Ramsay further comments that Amy and Samy continue to blame everyone else but themselves. The reason he left is because he knows that whatever changes he tried to make, they wouldn't commit to them.
