Julian McMahon plays the role of plastic surgeon, Dr. Christian Troy in the series "Nip/Tuck" which aired from 2003 - 2010. Dr. Troy, along with his partner Dr Sean McNamara are partners in a plastic surgery office. Dr. Troy is a vain, ladies man that usually ends up with the girl , while his partner is the more serious one that usually has to bail him out.
2. Dr. Zoe Hart

Rachel Bilson stars as Dr. Hart in "Heart of Dixie" that aired from 2011 - 2015. She plays a New Yorker that wants to be a heart surgeon. After she is refused the job, she takes a job in a Bluebell, Alabama to take over her biological father's (that she did not know about until then) general practice. Of course she initially rubs some people the wrong way but she is eventually accepted.
3. Dr. Joel Fleischman

Rob Morrow stars as Dr. Fleischman in "Northern Exposure" which aired from 1990 - 1995. He plays a newly graduated New York physician that was supposed to repay his medical school debt by working in Anchorage, Alaska but ends up in the small town of Cicely instead.
The show generally revolves around his difficulties in the small town. He eventually developed an on again off again relationship with a local. The show was critically acclaimed.
4. Dr. Robert Caldwell

"St. Elsewhere" was a critically acclaimed drama that ran from 1982 - 1988 and had a large cast of talented actors that took place in the fictional Boston hospital of St. Eligius. Mark Harmon played Dr. Robert Caldwell, who was a ladies man plastic surgeon and was eventually diagnosed as having AIDS. Remember this was in the mid 1980s when HIV and AIDS was a relatively new discovery and not yet well understood.
5. Dr. John Carter

Noah Wyle played Dr. John Carter in "ER" which aired from 1994 - 2009. The series was based on an Emergency Department in a busy Chicago Hospital. Dr. Carter started out as a third year medical student in the first season. During the course of the show he finished his residency and became an attending ER physician.
6. Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh

Jill Hennessy played Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh in "Crossing Jordan" from 2001 - 2007. She plays a forensic pathologist in the Boston Medical Examiner's Office. She and the rest of the office help the Boston Police Department solve the city's murders. She is sometimes aided by her father who is a retired police detective.
The series was originally scheduled to premiere on September 11, 2001 but was obviously delayed due to the terrorist attacks.
7. Dr. Lisa Cuddy

Lisa Edelstein played Dr. Lisa Cuddy in "House" which aired from 2004 - 2012. Lisa Cuddy was the Dean of Medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital in New Jersey. She initially met Dr. House as an undergraduate and eventually hired him to run the Diagnostic Department.
She had an intermittent romantic relationship with House since their undergrad days. She helped House detox from the narcotics he was addicted to, then broke off her relationship with him and resigned once she realized that he'd relapsed.
8. Dr. Leonard McCoy
Answer: Star Trek
Dr. Leonard H. "Bones" McCoy is the chief medical officer aboard the Starship Enterprise on the television series "Star Trek" which ran from 1966 - 1969. He was played by DeForest Kelley in the original series and in the series of films "Star Trek I-VI". Bones is a good friend of Captain Kirk and often offers his advice.
He also frequently argues with Mr. Spock and is occasionally prejudice against his Vulcan heritage.
9. Dr. John Dorian
Answer: Scrubs
Zach Braff plays Dr. John "J.D." Dorian in the comedy series "Scrubs" which aired from 2001 - 2010. J.D. starts out as an intern at Sacred Heart Hospital and as the series progresses becomes an attending then leaves to become a residency director at another teaching hospital.
The series is narrated by Braff as it follows the daily life and daydreams of the staff including his best friend and fellow physician Dr. Christopher Turk.
10. Dr. Benjamin Franklin Pierce

Alan Alda played Captain Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce in the series "M*A*S*H" that aired from 1972 - 1983. The series is set in a mobile army surgical hospital during the Korean War. Hawkeye plays a surgeon that was drafted into the US Army and is none too happy about it.
He has little respect for army rules, regulations and red tape and only his skill as a surgeon keeps him out of trouble. This series was based on a movie that in turn was based on a book written by a surgeon that actually served in the Korean War.
