Since Erica had barely interacted with the two during their tribulations with Louie Greco, it would make zero sense to incorporate her into the storyline. One of the most memorable scenes from the entire storyline was when Hayley and Mateo made love on the beaches of Jamaica. This is regarded by many fans of the duo as one of their favorite moments. However, this was criticized since others felt Noah and Julia should have had the "From Here to Eternity" moment.

Near the end of the story, Mateo caught up to Noah and Julia as well as Corinne. He heard of Corinne's plan to make it seem like Noah and Julia perished while in Jamaica to throw off Taylor. After the "funeral", Corinne and Mateo went to their crypts but noticed that Julia's body was not there (it was later revealed that Isabella had Julia flown back to Pine Valley. Corinne eventually awakened her).

However, Noah was there so Corinne awakened him.

Midway through the storyline, Jack was seen flying to Jamaica since he wanted to find Noah and Julia. Jack was involved since he prosecuted Noah but felt there was something suspicious about what was going on due to Taylor's behavior. However, Jack never found the two while he was on the island.

Popular head writer Lorraine Broderick drafted the plans for the entire Jamaican adventure storyline that saw the show head to Jamaica to shoot the plot. The storyline was criticized for drifting away from "All My Children's" roots as a serial that tended to stray from supernatural elements but nonetheless the ratings held steady.

There were also reports that Broderick was advised by her superiors to write a supernatural based plot since "Days of our Lives" had recently scored big ratings over Marlena's possession.
