The family mansion is almost a character in the story: dark, old, classic, with lots of hidden panels and passages and secret rooms.

Fred and Deloris kill monsters for a living. They do this in an "undercover" sort of way so they protect their identity by acting as if they were in the insurance business. This enhances their ability to pursue monsters undeterred and protects their children from knowing what mom and dad do for a living.

The Presidio Foundation is a covert international organization the mission of which is to track down and destroy monsters. In their enthusiasm for fulfilling this mission, they may have crossed a line and committed the murder of innocents.

Marijuana loses its potency over time: about 16% of its THC in a year, about 41% of its THC in four years. It is unlikely that the cigarette in the glove box would have produced the effects depicted in this episode. The pistol, however, works fine on vampires.

Praneet Akilla plays Phillip Mishra, a closeted jock who, at first, bullies Geoff. Geoff is openly gay and is attracted to Phillip. Over time, Phillip accepts his own concealed sexuality and his relationship with Geoff. Madison St. Claire, played by Sara Waisglass, is a snooty, nasty high-school girl who bullies both Viv and Cathy MacDonald. Cathy MacDonald, played by Anwen O'Driscoll, is Viv's friend and Madison's ex-friend. Actress Tamara Taylor plays Deloris Allen in this series.

Answer: Rob attempts to rape her

Rob, who appears to be a very nice young man, attempts to force himself upon Viv. This attempted rape is interrupted by a cyborg who rescues Viv. Cat warned Viv about Rob but it didn't take. Rob later accused Viv of assault and she was suspended from school for it by the principal who believed the perpetrator and disbelieved the victim. Rob is portrayed by Carson MacCormac.

Answer: Viv and Geoff's biological mother

Alice Harlow is a warlock. Her husband (also a warlock) was killed by Fred and Dee 17 years ago. She delivered twins which were taken by Allens and raised as their own adoptive children. Harlow is released from a curse and hunts the Allens who, in turn, hunt her. Viv and Geoff discover that not only is she their biological mother but that they are both warlocks.

IDW Publishing released 18 issues of "October Faction" -- a comic book series written by Steve Niles and drawn by Damien Worm, in 2014-2016. There were follow-on mini-series in 2016 and 2018. The television series was created by Damian Kindler. Kindler also wrote for the TV show and acted as executive producer.

On 28 September 2018, Netflix announced that it ordered ten episodes (one season) of "October Faction." On 8 January 2020, Netflix released the official trailer. The show premiered on 23 January 2020. On 30 March 2020, Netflix canceled the series. Although the show had a good-sized audience, the viewer reaction to it was not particularly positive. Rotten Tomatoes rated it 33% with an average rating of 5.5 out of 10.
