1. A Portrait For ________?

Answer: Troian

Deborah Pratt, or Mrs. Donald Bellisario, co-stars in this episode as Troian. Troian believes she hears her husband Julian speak to her; who has been dead for 3 years. Sam leaps in as Dr. Mintz, a parapsychologist there to determine whether or not Troian is insane.

It turns out that Troian's brother Jimmy is the one trying to drive her insane and to get her to commit suicide by drowning in the same lake her former husband is in. Carolyn Seymour plays the part of Miss Stoltz, Troian's housekeeper who turns out to be a ghost. You might remember her as Zoe, the evil leaper's equivalent to Al.
2. A Leap For _____?

Sam leaps in to a young Navy Ensign nicknamed "Bingo" in 1957. "Bingo" turns out to be Al who is charged with raping and murdering his commanding officer's wife. Sam unknowningly compromises the situation and Al is convicted and sentenced to the gas chamber on October 6, 1960. Before the sentence is passed, Al is replaced by co-star Roddy McDowall who plays Sengen (St. John), Sam's new connection to the future. According to Sengen, "Ziggy" is now called "Alpha" and Tina is married to Gushi. By episodes end, Sam finds a cigar in Al's car that did not belong to him.

As it turns out, Chip, Al's wing man, is the one who used Al's car the night of the murder and accidently killed the commander's wife. Thankfully Al was around for future episodes!
3. Black On White On _____?

This episode featured Sam as a Ray; a black medical student dating a white woman named Susan at the start of the 1965 Watts riots. Naturally Susan's policeman father nor Ray's brother Lonnie approve of the relationship. Lonnie kidnaps Susan and threatens to kill her if one more black person is killed in the riots and Susan's father plans her rescue.

Although Sam convinces Lonnie to surrender, he's shot on the orders of Susan's father by a sharpshooter. Ray and Susan marry and stay in Watts to provide medical treament to those in need.
4. The Leap Between The _____?

Sam leaps in to his great grandfather who is a northern civil war officer named Captain John Beckett on September 20, 1862. Sharing his great grandfather's DNA, he finds himself in the barn of a Virginian woman named Olivia; who not only wants to turn him in to the southern army, but is also his future great grandmother with whom his argues with constantly.

Not only does Sam win the affections Of Olivia, but also her slave Isaac, who is a part of the undergroung railroad. As it turns out, Isaac takes the last name of King because he felt like a king as a free man.

It turnes out that Isaac is the great grandfather of Martin Luther King.
5. The _____ Within?

Answer: Beast

Sam leaps in as Henry who lives with Roy in the woods of Washington state in 1972. Roy suffers from seizures from being shot in the head in Vietnam and is in need of medication. Luke, who is the local sheriff and a former friend of Henry and Roy, wants to arrest Henry for theft. Luke's son Daniel thinks that Sam, a.k.a Henry is Bigfoot for the fact that he wears a bearskin coat. Eventually Daniel runs away from home and meets up with Roy to search for Bigfoot.

After resting on a large rock, Daniel falls and injures himself while attempting to take a picture of Roy. Thankfully Sam shows up just before Roy has a seizure and was able to save the day.

In the closing moments of the episode, Sam and Al see a figure that looks like Bigfoot.
6. The Americanization Of _____?

Sam leaps in as Charlie; who returnes home after spending 2 years in the Navy with a Japanese bride. After being rejected by Charlie's mother, befriended by his old flame Naomi, and kidnapped by a prejudice man named Rusty, Machiko is accepted in to the community. The great part is that Charlie's mom shows up to their "american wedding ceremony" in a komono.
7. Leaping Of The _____?

Answer: Shrew

This episode co-stars Brooke Shields as Vanessa; a snotty woman who finds herself marooned on a deserted island with Sam as Nikos, a young Greek man who worked in the engine room of the ship that sunk due to Vanessa's smoking habit. By episodes end, they see a ship but decide not to be rescued in the name of love. Their finally rescued 9 years and 6 kids later.
8. _____ Of A Champion?

Answer: Heart

Sam leaps in to wrestler Terry. He and his brother Ronnie, who is also his partner, are known as "The Battling Russians". Sam does not want Ronnie to wrestle due to a heart problem that was caused by a fever he'd had as a child. Due to Ronnie's persistance, they wrestle for the title against "The Shiloh Boys" in which Sam takes it upon himself to wrestle without tagging Ronnie (so his heart condition would not be a factor), thus winning the title and Ronnie living to see better days.
9. Play It Again, _____?

Sam leaps in as a "gum shoe" who, although looking like Humphrey Bogart, is there to solve the mystery of who killed his partner.

Answer: Memphis

Sam leaps in to Elvis on July 3, 1954 to help Sue Ann start her singing career. At the "Southern Salute To America Talent Show" rehearsal, Sue Ann get a case of stage fright and decides it's not worth it. Meanwhile, Sam discovers that Sue Ann is to marry Frank, an abusive nozzle who thinks a woman's place is in the kitchen.

At the talent show, Sue Ann once again gets stage fright and Sam joins her on stage only to have her and Elvis signed as a duo, which was a big no-no! After missing Sam Phillips for the audition, Sue Ann decides to give up, but Sam manages to sing one song for him and blows it. According to Al "Heartbreak Hotel" is recorded by The Monkees, and "Jailhouse Rock" is recorded by Tony, Orlando and Dawn! But true to form, Sam impresses Sam Phillips at the diner sining "Baby Let's Play House" and Elvis' career is inked along with Sue Ann getting her own audition.

She never makes it big, but does manage to sing at the Opry and start one of the first Elvis fan clubs.
