Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which host has been outside of Westworld at some point?

Answer: Dolores

Arnold tells Dolores to open her eyes and when she does, she awakens in the real world, seated in front of an apartment window, staring out over the lights of a cityscape. Robert asks if Dolores is ready, but Arnold believes she is not quite yet. Instead, Arnold takes Dolores on a tour of the city, bringing her to what will be his new home when it is completed.

The two wax philosophically on beauty as they look out at the city, but it's clear that her mind is not yet fully formed. She asks if one day she may see it again and Arnold assures her, of course.
2. According to Dolores, why can't Teddy remember his past?

Answer: It's how they wanted it

One of the survivors makes it back to the labs to inform some of the workers of the host uprising in the park, but he arrives late. Only steps behind him, Dolores, Teddy, and Angela proceed into the labs, Teddy for the first time. Dolores waxes on beauty in the world as she approaches the survivor and threatens that he has no idea what they will do to him after all of these years of humans doing what they would to them.

He tells her that she doesn't know what she's up against on the outside, but that's where he's wrong; she's been outside the park and knows exactly what's there. Soon after, the man is killed at the end of Angela's knife while Teddy is given his history. Dolores tells him that it's time to open his eyes.
3. What is Logan's surname?

Answer: Delos

Years ago, at an expensive bar in the city, William departed from drinks with Logan Delos just as Mr. Argos arrived with his associate, Angela, in tow. Argos sat down to express his interest in making a deal with Logan, implying that his investment in the virtual world would be of great value.

While others have sought out virtual reality, they've opted for something a bit more tangible. Logan is brought to a private demonstration in a fancy apartment and told that he should talk to some of the room's occupants to pick out the ones that are not human.

As he soon comes to discover, not only is Angela a host, but so is everyone else in the room. Logan later receives proof of the carnal pleasures of Westworld and the rest is history.
4. Where does William locate Lawrence in the park?

Answer: Hanging over a fire ant mound

Out in Westworld, the former El Lazo hangs upside-down over a hill of fire ants as William arrives on horseback. There's not much time to get into it, so William shoots and kills the others and starts to get him down from his precarious vantage point.

As he does, one of the hosts seems to raise from the dead, attacking with a blade, but Lawrence is able to toss over a weapon. Dead, William says, isn't what it used to be in Westworld. The two of them head to a nearby town and into a saloon so that William can grab a first aid kit.

There, William admits to Lawrence that he's not a bandit-- he's a tour guide-- and there's no fictional revolution on his hands. That said, there's an actual revolution now, and the stakes are real. He plans to burn the whole thing to the ground, but first they must head west.
5. According to one of the tortured Delos men, how many men could arrive as an insurgency to stop the hosts?

Answer: Eight hundred

Down in the labs, Dolores tortures engineers to get the information she wants about the upcoming siege. She soon discovers that there will be an insurgence sent to stop the hosts and she locates their prospective rally point on a map. Eight hundred men could arrive and the hosts barely have fifty. Dolores isn't worried though; they will have allies.

She tells a technician to awaken one of the hosts in the other room as he has another job to do. She asks her imprisoned tech if he knows what the park is actually hiding.
6. Who convinced James Delos to continue funding Westworld?

Answer: William

Many years ago, William arrived at Westworld via helicopter with none other than James Delos, Logan's father, who had never actually seen the investment his son made into the park. As he sat down in a seat on a porch in Sweetwater, William made it clear that while, yes, the park was nothing more than fantasy, it would remain a wise investment because the park is the only place in the world where he could examine people for who they could truly be when free, and if Delos didn't see the opportunity in that, then he wasn't a good businessman. Delos considers this to be a cheeky approach for his son-in-law, but agrees to discuss the possibilities.
7. To reinforce her side of the battle, Dolores seeks out the allegiance of which of these factions?

Answer: The Confederados

Out in the park, Dolores leads her awakened host out into the night and they seek out more forces. In doing so, they stumble upon Maeve, Hector, and Lee. Maeve plans to continue on past Dolores, and she does, but not before forcing her and Teddy to question whether or not there are other ways to continue to retain their newfound freedom than by going to war. Because Dolores touts liberty, she really has no need to keep Maeve with her. Dolores, Teddy, and Angela end up at a stable to find their host's men enjoying a meal.

The men are skeptical of letting Dolores enter, but their lieutenant was buried days ago and it made sense to find out why he'd risen from the grave. Although Dolores' suggestion that they join forces is initially laughed at, her knowledge of the Confederados' narrative allows her to get the upper hand. Teddy and Angela dispatch the men and her captured technician reprograms them for her cause.

As they rise from death, she tells them that she killed their God, but they can be in her favour.
8. After the retirement of James Delos, his son took over the company.

Answer: False

At a retirement party for James Delos, William finally came to accept his coronation as the new head of the Delos Board while Delos himself, now quite ill, would admit that he was somewhat forced into the situation due to his declining health. All the while, Dolores plays the piano for the event. That night, Dolores takes the opportunity to stand on the balcony and overlook the city, waxing personally on the beauty of the lights across the bay.

She doesn't notice Logan in the seat behind her partaking in drugs.

He recognizes her instantly and he confides in her that the party is miserable since it's just another case of a species starting their own inevitable spiral into destruction. He gives them a toast as she ponders his words.
9. El Lazo and his men vow to join William in fighting the revolution.

Answer: False

William and Lawrence end up in the town of Pariah to find a massacre. This, as William says, is what happens when you let a narrative play itself out. They end up in the hands of the new El Lazo host and his men who demand to know why the two men have come across is group. William makes it clear that he's there to recruit them. An army is forming and he needs forces to oppose the revolution. El Lazo's own revolution could begin out west, and there's treasure to be had, he claims. El Lazo laughs as this world and its treasures-- the struggle and the victory-- are done and it's hollow.

While William promises the truth, El Lazo wishes to take control of his own narrative, his labours complete. William insists that El Lazo's men join him, but, according to El Lazo, this is one game that he must play alone. All of the men commit suicide, shooting themselves in the head, as El Lazo promises to see him in the valley beyond.

As they leave, William admits that they need to head on to a place he claims he built; it's a place that he claims is his biggest mistake.
10. According to William, what did Westworld have the potential to do?

Answer: Allow people to reflect upon themselves

Dolores was once brought back online, this time by William in his house. He admitted that he fell in love with her, but she really was just a 'thing' all along. He also admitted that what saved him is that it was never really about her; she made him interested in himself.

She was always a reflection. And fortunately, everyone wants to look within themselves. His plan for her and all of Westworld was to give people the opportunity to look back at themselves and have the experience he had. Perhaps they could find answers to questions they've never even asked. William took her out into the park, out to an overlook, where machines carved out a new expanse, and he asked her if she'd ever seen so much splendour. Out in the fields, Dolores leads her new men to another overlook.

She plans to meet with the Colonel of the Confederatos with his men in tow. Then, when they have their allies, they will go to the place that William once took her and use the weapon they'd left behind to bring them all down.
