Answer: She proved herself to be untrustworthy on "The Amazing Race"

Nadiya and her sister Natalie were on "The Amazing Race" twice, one season of which aired just months before "Survivor: San Juan del Sur" was filmed. Dale said that the twins had back-stabbed other teams on the Race, thereby making them untrustworthy. Nadiya's comment about counting Josh (who was gay) as a girl was not taken well by Josh as he stated in one of his interviews. One of her most famous quotes on the show came at her only tribal council.

She said that on "Survivor", she was making the best of the situation and she had to "make margaritas out of lemons" instead of lemonade.

Answer: She had two hidden immunity idols

Val had gone to Exile Island on day one, so she pretended that she had found a hidden immunity idol there and then found one at camp. She then said to John that she would play one of them and give the other to her alliance-mate, Jaclyn. John did not rule out that possibility (even though he later found an idol at camp), so the men split the vote, putting three on her and three on Baylor. Val and Jaclyn also voted for Baylor which would have sent her home, but Josh switched his vote from Baylor to Val in order to protect Baylor, whom he had an alliance with. Val (vainly) described her act as "an Oscar-winning performance".

Answer: He was a former pro baseball player and didn't need the money

John Rocker was a pitcher in the MLB for six years. He rose to infamy when, in a 1999 Sports Illustrated article, he was quoted as making racist and homophobic remarks. After the episode three immunity challenge, Natalie of the Hunahpu tribe called him out on these comments, and argued for the Coyopa tribe to vote him out. John then lost his temper and yelled back at Natalie, giving extra incentive to his tribe to vote him out.

At the following reward challenge, the Hunahpu tribe applauded the Coyopas for doing so.

Answer: Kelley

Drew wanted to throw the challenge to "get rid of the snakes on the tribe" but it ultimately it backfired on him. His pitch to get rid of Kelley was based on her being a threat as a big fan of the show, but no one else on the tribe agreed nor voted with him.

He also didn't realize that Kelley was standing nearby during some of his conversations. Drew was portrayed as being arrogant throughout the episode, giving quotes such as "I'm the kingpin of the tribe" and "Basically I'm a badass, and a manipulator of this game".

Answer: Dale told Missy that she was cooking too much rice

The tribe switch brought three couples together on the same tribe: Missy and Baylor, Dale and Kelley, and dating couple Jon and Jaclyn. As a result of the rice-cooking argument, Dale didn't want to work with Missy in the game and approached Jon and Jaclyn about working together.

However, Jon and Jaclyn decided to team up with Missy and Baylor instead, splitting the votes between Dale and Kelley, and ultimately deciding to vote Kelley out. Dale told Kelley that he thought Missy was "self-centered and bossy".

In the following episode, Dale described Kelley going home as "the toughest thing [he has] ever seen his daughter go through".

Answer: Jon

Dale showed Jon a fake idol which he had found on the first day of the game. Before tribal council, he offered to give Jon the idol if he wasn't voted out. Jon believed the idol was real, but he, along with Jaclyn, Missy and Baylor, decided it was too risky to keep him as he would be an unknown factor at the merge.

Answer: They needed rice

Having eaten all their rice and beans in the first fourteen days of the game, Hunahpu needed to trade all of their rewards in exchange for more rice. Julie's meltdown started during a rainstorm in the tribe's newly tarp-less shelter. At the merge feast, she put the leftover trail mix in her bag, and was caught hoarding it by the others two days later.

She said that being around couples was hard because she was not with her boyfriend. Shortly before tribal council was to take place, Julie quit the game.

Answer: The men in Josh's alliance disrespected Jaclyn

Before Julie's quit, Jon and Jaclyn were set on voting out Jeremy (who led an alliance and was a threat). After the episode eight reward challenge, Jon was sent to Exile Island. Without Jon at camp, Jaclyn felt disrespected by the men in Josh's alliance, and said they only went to Jon to talk about strategy when in fact they made decisions together.

When Jeremy won immunity, they switched sides and voted out Josh.

Answer: Jeremy became suspicious of Jon having an immunity idol

Jon had found a hidden immunity idol on Exile Island shortly after the merge. Jeremy went there after him and didn't find it, which led him to believe Jon had it. When he asked Jon about whether he had the idol, Jon lied and said he hadn't found it. Jon grew scared that Jeremy would expose him as having lied, and decided to get Jaclyn, Missy, Baylor and Reed (who was the original target and not in the alliance) to vote out Jeremy. Jeremy said he was weakened by his time on Exile, and that he could have won immunity if he was feeling better.

The TV audience was also shocked, as very few hints were given before his exit.

Answer: Keith

At the final nine, Reed convinced Missy to have her alliance with Jon, Jaclyn, Baylor and Natalie split their votes between father/son duo Keith (who had a hidden idol) and Wes. He and Alec pretended to go along with that plan, but the actual scheme was to have the two of them and Keith and Wes vote out Jon, along with his idol.

However, Broadway performer Reed, with his convincing cover at tribal, got Keith worried, and Keith said to stick to the foursome's plan (voting out Jon). This tipped off Jon, who played his idol.

When Keith played his own idol, the only one left with valid votes was Wes, who went to the jury.

Answer: He called Baylor a brat in front of her mom

Following the reward challenge, Reed got into an argument with Missy, during which he said to Baylor that she was being a brat. This infuriated Missy, who gave him the finger when she left to go on reward. Although he, Alec and Keith tried to recruit Jaclyn while Jon was on Exile, Jon and Jaclyn ultimately decided not to switch sides. Reed said that he was angry at Jon and Jaclyn because they would not talk to each other the day of tribal council, having gotten into an argument themselves.

Answer: Natalie

At the final seven, Jon was being targeted by Natalie and Baylor; however, he won immunity to save himself. When the alliance of five decided to split their votes between Keith and Alec in case one of them had a hidden idol, Natalie confided in Baylor that she was thinking of saving Keith.

When she did save him, Jon and Missy were shocked. Natalie's reason for saving Keith was that she thought Keith could beat Jon, who was a bigger threat, at immunity challenges. In the following episode, Natalie passed her switched vote off as a mistake, which Jon and Missy believed.

Answer: He forgot to bring his torch to Jeff

When Natalie won immunity at the final six, Jon was her target as he had led the charge to vote out her good friend Jeremy. Jon had a hidden immunity idol, so she and Baylor decided to split the votes between him and Jaclyn. Missy was initially reluctant to go with the plan as she had a bond with Jon, but eventually went along.

When Jon didn't play his idol, a three-way tie resulted in a re-vote in which Jon was voted out. On his way out, he forgot to bring his torch to Jeff.

Answer: Jaclyn

Natalie's initial target was Keith; however, Keith won first an advantage in the immunity challenge (practicing for it) and then the challenge itself. Natalie told Baylor that Jaclyn should be the next to go; however, she changed her mind and used her hidden idol to save Jaclyn, and her and Jaclyn's two votes sent Baylor to the jury. Natalie explained that she needed to split up the Baylor/Missy duo, since they would stick together to vote her out at the final four if she didn't win immunity.

Answer: Keith, because the girls thought he would get the most jury votes

When Jaclyn won the final immunity challenge, she had to decide on who to vote out. She and Natalie agreed that Keith would probably get the most votes if he went on to the finals, while telling Keith that the vote was on Missy. Jaclyn was shown talking to Missy about voting for Natalie, but ultimately Natalie got no votes. Keith stated during the final tribal council that he was mad at Natalie for lying to him, but he ultimately voted for Natalie to win the game.

In the end, Natalie got five votes from the jury (Josh, Jeremy, Wes, Alec and Keith), thereby winning the game. Jaclyn finished in second place (with votes from Jon and Reed), while Missy finished third (her only vote coming from Baylor).
