They discover that a warlock surgeon, Pavayne, who is known as The Reaper is using his magics to torment Spike. The gang try to make Spike corporeal again, but Spike sacrifices the chance by making Pavayne corporeal and Angel locks him Wolfram and Harts dungeons forever.

This episode sees Spike receive a package which makes him corporeal again. Eve tells Angel that having two ensouled vampires is throwing the world into chaos and the only way they can stop is by finding the "cup of perpetual torment" and finding out who is destined to fulfill the Shanshu Prophecy. Spike and Angel find the cup and fight to see who is going to drink from it. Spike wins but discover the whole thing was a hoax. Back at the office Eve explains that The Senior Partners have settled the chaos. We then see Eve at home climbing into bed with a heavily tattooed Lindsey.

This episode sees the return of Cordy. The Powers That Be have gave her one last mission to steer Angel back on the right path. The gang also discover that Lindsey is back and with Cordy's help, Angel sends him through a portal to face The Senior Partners.

As Cordy is going to leave, she and Angel kiss. The phone rings and when Angel answers it, it is the hospital to tell him that Cordy has died. Angel turns round and Cordy is gone.

Wesley takes Fred home where she dies in his arms only to be resurrected minutes later as Illyria.

Gunn is the one who tortures Knox after Knox reveals that Gunn is partly responsible for the sarcophagus that released Illyria being in LA. The paper that Gunn signed to get his brain upgraded releases it from customs. Illyria turns up at Wolfram and Hart and rescues Knox and manages to get to her kingdom, only to find it has long since been destroyed. Wesley overhears Gunn talking to the doctor about his part and stabs him. Wesley offers to help Illyria.

In this episode Wesley is still trying to help Illyria settle into this world. Angel visits Gunn who is still in hospital and he tells Angel where Lindsey is being held. The gang rescue Lindsey from the holding dimension that he is in, but in order for Lindsey to leave, one of the Angel gang must stay behind in his place, Gunn volunteers. Marcus Hamilton is trying to find Eve and Eve tells Angel that he is trying to kill her, but this is not the case, Marcus just wants Eve to sign away her immortality as he is now Angel's new liaison.

This episode sees Connor's return. His new parents turn up at Wolfram and Hart as their son seems to possess some sort of powers. Angel refuses to help at first but changes his mind later and saves Connor and his parents from a group of demons. It turns out that Cyvus is responsible for the attacks on Connor and he will release everyone's memories if Connor doesn't kill Sahjahn for him.

As Connor is fighting Sahjahn, Wesley appears, after finding a document that was signed by Angel the day they took over the company. Believing that it will bring Fred back, Wesley smashes the box containing everyone's old memories and Wesley and Connor get their memories back.
