Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Elaine's boyfriend's profession?

Answer: a saxophone player for a jazz band

Elaine dated a saxophone player, John Germaine, who was pretty popular from performing at bars and clubs with his band. According to Elaine, he was very "sponge-worthy" too.
2. According to Jerry, what kind of items did Kramer buy too much of from his shopping trip to Price Club?

Answer: Food

Kramer asked Jerry to help him unload his trunk which was filled with various foods, all in huge quantities. Jerry believed Kramer would never finish any of the food he bought.

Jerry: "This isn't for a person. This is for Biosphere 3!"
3. What words did Jerry use to describe Elaine's relationship with John Germaine?

Answer: hot and heavy

Jerry ran into one of John's band members, Clyde, and told him that Elaine and John were pretty "hot and heavy". Elaine was worried that Clyde would tell John who, in turn, might think they actually were "hot and heavy" (according to Elaine, they weren't). Elaine finds out what happens when she visits John again to see his performance.

John: "Thank you. Now, I'd like to play something th- well, actually, it's my latest so it's nice and fresh. It's called 'Hot and Heavy'."
4. What was one topic that was NOT discussed during the dinner get-together consisting of Susan's family (Susan, Mr. Ross, and Mrs. Ross) and George's family (George, Frank, and Estelle)?

Answer: marble rye from Schnitzer's

Every topic that was discussed turned into an awkward moment or an embarrassment for either Susan or George. Because of their differences about those topics, George's parents decided to take back their marble rye instead of giving it to Susan's parents as a gift.
5. George and Jerry formed a plan to get the marble rye back into the Ross's apartment so Mr. and Mrs. Ross wouldn't suspect that Frank and Estelle stole back the rye bread. They decided to use Kramer as part of their plan. What part did Kramer have in this plan?

Answer: he would take the Mr. and Mrs. Ross out on a Hansom cab ride

They planned to get the Mr. and Mrs. Ross out of their apartment by letting Kramer take them on a Hansom cab ride (Kramer was taking over for the regular guy) around the city. This way, George could get Jerry to come over and drop off the marble rye without the Mr. and Mrs. Ross seeing him.
6. The plan did not go as well as expected. What happened to Jerry when went to buy the marble rye at Schnitzer's?

Answer: an old lady bought the last one

An old lady (later referred to as Mabel Choate) bought the last marble rye. Jerry tried bribing her large amounts of money for the rye but she refused them. With no choice left, Jerry mugged Mabel for her rye bread.

Mabel: "Help! Someone help!"
Jerry: "Shut up, you old bag!"
7. Soon after, another part of the plan was ruined. What happened to Kramer's hansom cab ride?

Answer: the horse kept cutting the cheese, creating problems for everyone

Kramer had fed the horse (Rusty) "Beef-A-Reeno" to get rid of all the excess food he bought. The horse kept farting and stinking up the whole place. Mr and Mrs. Ross demanded to go back to their place and get off the ride as soon as possible.

Mrs. Ross: "I can't take this. Let me out of this thing!"
Mr. Ross: "Turn this thing around. We've had it. We can't breathe back here!"
8. Mr. and Mrs. Ross returned home before Jerry had arrived with the marble rye. Jerry had to find another way to sneak the rye up without being seen. What technique did Jerry and George use that was successful in getting the rye into the house?

Answer: Jerry put the rye on a fish hook while George reeled it in

George ended up using a fishing pole to get the rye up to the third floor window. He was successful in retrieving it but turned around to see the Ross family (including Susan) staring at him, spectators to the whole scene.
9. What happened to John Germaine when Elaine went to see his latest performance?

Answer: he did a horrible job at playing

John Germaine played very bad and had trouble playing on key. The worst part was that there were critics in the crowd watching his performance too. Elaine quietly snuck out of the performance, disappointed.
10. Mabel Choate ends up getting the marble rye back at the end of the show.

Answer: False

We never see who really ends up getting stuck with the marble rye. The last person who was seen with the marble rye was George and Mabel Choate doesn't appear again (in this episode) after Jerry steals the rye from her.
