"Skins": Examining Effy Trivia Quiz

Effy is seen in the very first episode of the first series, as she sneaked into her house after a night out whilst brother, Tony, lured their father (played by Harry Enfield) upstairs with loud music.

Harry Enfield's character provided many laughs throughout the three series with his ludicrously foul mouth and short temper. This temper was seen in episode 1 of series 3, as he yelled at an elderly lady after he ran over a bike. Meanwhile, the expressionless Effy waits in the car, before eventually getting out and walking to her first day of college.

Answer: David Baddiel

Effy was horrified to find this, but was not surprised. She declared her suspicions of her cheating mother in the very first episode - this was her unique fact about herself during her first philosophy lesson. Effy did not tell her dad about the affair, but he did find out himself after Baddiel's character (who is a work colleague of his) came round and declared his love for Effy's mother right in front of her him!

Whilst discussing Hamlet, the teacher grew impatient with the lack of class participation and so began to speak to her hand, which she called Gerald. After Gerald gave a brief summary about the themes of the play, Freddie walked in late and, with only two spare seats - one next to Cook and the other next to Effy - he chose Effy. As Effy affectionately stroked Freddie's arm, this was noticed by Naomi, who gave Freddie a cheeky wink.

Meanwhile, Pandora offered her interpretation of the play, before the class realised that she had gotten mixed up and had read Harry Potter instead of Hamlet.

Answer: That she'll only break his heart

Freddie visited Effy's house to ask the question. However, he seemed to arrive at a bad time, as her parents were arguing, following the realisation of Effy's father that his wife was having an affair.

After leaving the house, Effy's dad told Freddie that "they're not really insane, they're just women."

Answer: The water park

After being told this, Freddie ran down to the water park and found Effy on a raft, sunbathing in the middle of the lake. The two jumped in the water and shared their first kiss. With the words, "now I've told you, now you know", Freddie swam away.

Answer: Naomi

Naomi, as we have already discovered, is very perceptive and had already sussed out that Freddie had feelings for Effy. However, she now confronted Effy about her feelings. Predictably, Effy denied these feelings.

As well as this, Naomi had a moment of openness with Effy outside of the nightclub, suggesting that she had feelings for Emily.

This conversation was interrupted by Thomas, who shouted the group to the front of the queue as he had been employed as a ticket salesman for the event.

Answer: Mushrooms

The mushrooms were found by Effy when lying down in the forest. She brought them back to camp and, although put down by Katie for eating them without knowledge that they were not poisonous, many of the group ate them. The camera action in the next few scenes makes it obvious that the mushrooms had the desired affect on the group, who danced around the fire euphorically.

Answer: Yes

Effy fell asleep holding Freddie's hand and was awoken by Katie, who told her she was acting desperate and that she shouldn't be going after her friends' boyfriends.

Effy had, just that morning, gone to tell Freddie her true feelings, before finding him with Katie and so restrained herself from letting Freddie hear the truth.

Answer: She started hallucinating

A probable mixture of shocking news and a large amount of mysterious mushrooms caused this.

Earlier in the series, Effy asked Pandora why they were friends, and was met with the response along the lines of, because Effy is cool and Pandora will do anything she says, and that Pandora would never sleep with any of Effy's boyfriends.

Although Effy knew about the time Pandora slept with Cook at Pandora's house, she was not aware that it had continued after she entered a relationship with Cook.

Answer: Freddie

Although her choice is not revealed in this episode, we learn in series 4 that Freddie is the one she wants to be with.

Captained by JJ, he, Freddie, Effy and Cook sail away in a stolen boat. Freddie and Cook managed to reconcile their differences and just enough loose ends are left untied to make way for a fourth series ;).
