Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Patty Hype", the Krusty Krab team are thinking of new ways to bring customers in as sales have been low. SpongeBob reckons he's come up with a great idea, but Squidward and Mr. Krabs make fun of him, leading him to set up his own restaurant stall to sell the new product! What odd change does SpongeBob make to Krabby Patties?

Answer: He changes the color.

Named "Pretty Patties", the new multicolored Krabby Patties begin to sell like hotcakes! Mr. Krabs is jealous of SpongeBob's newfound success, and offers to buy the stall in exchange for the Krusty Krab! SpongeBob happily agrees to the exchange. Mr. Krabs, however, is in trouble when the townspeople demand refunds for the odd effects that the Pretty Patties have had on them, including skin changing color and tongues becoming glow-in-the-dark!
2. In "Grandma's Kisses", SpongeBob struggles with the balance of showing his love for his grandmother and feeling like a grownup. What is the initial giveaway of SpongeBob's closeness to his grandma that causes him to be humiliated by Squidward and the customers at the Krusty Krab?

Answer: A kiss mark on his forehead.

SpongeBob, taking advice from Patrick, decides to act more like a grownup and refuses all of his grandma's offerings on his next visit. But Patrick clearly decides his advice wasn't worth it as he goes on to take SpongeBob's place and enjoy the luxury of freshly baked cookies and a sweater with love in every stitch! SpongeBob tries hard to resist the temptation, which proves difficult as his grandmother oversells the "joy" of being a grownup, giving him healthy snacks that taste awful, boring manuals to read instead of bedtime stories, and a gift of office supplies that she doesn't wrap! After SpongeBob breaks down in a literal flood of tears, his grandmother reminds him that he doesn't have to be a baby to remain close to his grandma, and he can eat cookies while still being a grownup!
3. Tired of living next to SpongeBob and Patrick when his house is yet again destroyed, Squidward finally moves away from Bikini Bottom to a town named Tentacle Acres, in the episode named "Squidville". The town is inhabited only by other cephalopods, and their hobbies and shopping habits are the same as Squidward's! Finally among his own kind, is Squidward happy to live in Tentacle Acres?

Answer: No

At first Squidward is ecstatic to be surrounded by so many like-minded individuals, but the routine of doing the same activities day in and day out begins to take its toll and Squidward ends up bored. He begins having lots of loud fun, disturbing the residents of Tentacle Acres, who issue him with a petition of angry complaints. Ironically, Squidward has become the SpongeBob of Tentacle Acres! He leaves the town by flying away on a leaf blower, but SpongeBob and Patrick, who have arrived in the town to beg Squidward to return home to Bikini Bottom, do not believe that the squid who is having so much fun can possibly be grouchy Squidward!
4. It's "Prehibernation Week" for Sandy - and SpongeBob, it turns out, as Sandy pushes him to take part in a multitude of extreme sports and activities that he really would rather avoid! The deadly scenes are accompanied with music from which American heavy metal band, which you can see in the opening credits?

Answer: Pantera

SpongeBob runs away from Sandy in desperation and hides under Patrick's rock. Sandy panics in fear for her missing friend and rounds up the town to help find him, but her overbearing leadership causes everyone to accompany SpongeBob under the rock. Once they work out he is under there with him, they expose him to get Sandy off their back. Luckily by the time SpongeBob has explained that he isn't comfortable with the extreme sports anymore, Sandy has already fallen asleep for the winter!
5. In "Life of Crime", SpongeBob and Patrick are convinced by Mr. Krabs that stealing is okay as long as you return the item, meaning it is only "borrowed". But a balloon they "borrow" pops, leaving them in a panic as it cannot be returned, making them thieves! What action do the boys take now that they realise they are criminals?

Answer: They go on the run.

The dramatic irony for the viewer is revealed, out of SpongeBob's and Patrick's earshot - it's Free Balloon Day! So they aren't thieves at all! But they camp out far from Bikini Bottom, feeling sad that they now have to turn their backs on their friends and everything they love. Patrick forgets he has eaten his only chocolate bar and accuses SpongeBob of stealing it, and they dash back to town determined to turn each other in for the crime.

The police officers are highly amused by their confession and briefly put them into a cell, before letting them know it is Free Balloon Day and they are innocent of any crime.
6. In "Christmas Who?", Sandy is astonished that the Bikini Bottomites have never heard of Christmas and determines that they will know all about the magical time. Who or what does SpongeBob initially think Christmas is?

Answer: Sandy's friend from Texas.

SpongeBob is fascinated by Sandy's stories of Christmas, and spreads the word to everyone in Bikini Bottom that Santa Claus will come and give them presents, but Squidward remains sceptical. When Christmas morning arises and Santa has not appeared, the Bikini Bottomites become very angry and disappointed in SpongeBob. Once Squidward sees how dejected SpongeBob has become, he dresses up as Santa Claus and gives away everything he owns to make the townspeople happy! As he reflects on how his generosity has left him with nothing, Santa Claus appears to thank Squidward for what he has done. Turns out the only sceptic in town is the only one to set eyes on Santa Claus after all!
7. "Survival of the Idiots" sees SpongeBob and Patrick trapped inside Sandy's treedome for the winter! How do they temporarily shield Sandy from hearing their fun and games?

Answer: Headphones made of belly button lint.

When the headphones slip from Sandy's ears and she attacks her friends in her sleep, SpongeBob and Patrick desperately try to escape the treedome for their own safety! But the door is frozen shut, and they make the unwise decision to rip off Sandy's fur to keep them warm throughout the winter, which suddenly ends leaving them to face the consequences as a now awake Sandy discovers she is furless!
8. In "Dumped", SpongeBob's beloved pet snail Gary chooses to live with someone else instead, leaving SpongeBob very depressed and angry at the friend who has stolen Gary's affection from him. Who is the friend?

Answer: Patrick

SpongeBob makes several attempts to win back Gary's companionship, but only after he's tried his luck with a motley of new pets! Luckily he gets his wish when a spot of laundry proves that Gary was only interested in the cookie in Patrick's shorts pocket, not in Patrick at all! Once Gary has eaten the cookie, he returns to SpongeBob as if nothing has happened, leaving Patrick the forlorn one!
9. In "No Free Rides", Mrs. Puff lets SpongeBob pass his driving test despite the fact that he really failed. He is so excited to have finally passed, then his parents buy him a brand new boat. Unfortunately the boat is stolen that same night by someone SpongeBob knows and trusts! Who is the boatjacker that he tries to stop?

Answer: Mrs. Puff

Mrs. Puff realises the consequences of her actions when she envisions SpongeBob driving erratically on the road in his brand new boat, so she is determined to steal the boat thinking that will be the end of it. But SpongeBob, who is sleeping in the boat as she steals it, tries his hardest to stop her then is horrified to discover that the thief is his own driving instructor! In the end, SpongeBob sadly gives up his license that he never really deserved to get, and Mrs. Puff ends up in jail!
10. "I'm Your Biggest Fanatic" sees SpongeBob receive the opportunity of a lifetime - he is offered a place in the Jellyspotters club! It comes with a price as the leader of the Jellyspotters subjects him to many difficult challenges in an effort to humiliate him for their amusement, but SpongeBob comes up top in the end! What is the name of the cucumber leader of the Jellyspotters?

Answer: Kevin

All the challenges see SpongeBob pass with flying colours but Kevin is injured by jellyfish stings. He ups the ante with harder challenges until SpongeBob is left tied to a post with a device that is meant to summon a Queen jellyfish but make a sound like "loser, loser, loser".

When a Queen jellyfish appears and SpongeBob runs screaming in fear, it is revealed that the jellyfish is a robot and Kevin and the other Jellyspotters are inside - the final humiliation for SpongeBob. But a run-in with a (real) King jellyfish sees the Jellyspotters offer SpongeBob the place of leader instead!
