Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Home Sweet Pineapple", SpongeBob loses his home, and after dreadful attempts to live with Patrick and Squidward, decides to move back in with his parents. What happened to cause SpongeBob's pineapple home to be destroyed?

Answer: Nematodes drank the juice of the house through a straw.

Squidward is very happy that SpongeBob will not be living on Conch Street any longer, but Patrick is dismayed. Before SpongeBob leaves, he plants what he thinks is a mere pebble (the only thing left of his house) in the earth where his house used to stand.

A tear from his nose drips onto the earth and soaks into the pebble, which is actually a pineapple seed, and SpongeBob's house grows back again! SpongeBob exclaims to Squidward that this means he can remain in Conch Street forever.
2. "Mermaidman and Barnacleboy" is the name of the next episode, and also the names of two TV superheroes whom SpongeBob and Patrick greatly admire. After annoying Squidward by pretending that they are the heroes and Squidward is the villain, Squidward reveals to them that he knows where the real Mermaidman and Barnacleboy now live. Where do they live?

Answer: In an old folks' home on the other side of the town

SpongeBob and Patrick mistakenly believe that this means that the heroes are working undercover at the home, Shady Shoals, but they are actually very old now. They hatch a plan to get Mermaidman and Barnacleboy to come out of retirement, but their first few attempts fail.

It is only when Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are so irritated with them that they attack them with their superpowers, calling them "evil". SpongeBob and Patrick enjoy the 'torments', and are overjoyed when Mermaidman and Barnacleboy, feeling young again, get a new show on TV.
3. In "Pickles", an overweight fish named Bubble Bass, who is known for being very picky with food, comes to The Krusty Krab. After eating his Krabby Patty, he reveals that SpongeBob forgot to include the pickles. SpongeBob has a breakdown, becoming incapable of doing simple things and doing strange things, such as nailing pieces of toast to the wall. Did SpongeBob actually forget to put the pickles on the burger?

Answer: No

No, he didn't forget them! Mr. Krabs visits SpongeBob at home, and tries to help him remember how to make a Krabby Patty. Eventually, SpongeBob, giving up, makes the Krabby Patty correctly in anger. He returns to work, where he makes Bubble Bass another burger. Bubble Bass accuses SpongeBob of forgetting the pickles again, and as he is laughing in SpongeBob's face, SpongeBob reaches out and grabs Bubble Bass's tongue - it is revealed that Bubble Bass has been holding the pickles under his tongue the whole time!
4. In "Hall Monitor", SpongeBob makes his 'hall monitor acceptance speech' so long that school is over by the time he is finished. The teacher, Mrs. Puff, allows him to keep wearing the uniform after school, and he can return it the next day. SpongeBob takes his duties too far, and patrols the town, hoping to catch a local criminal, dubbed the 'maniac'. Who is the maniac?

Answer: SpongeBob

Yes, it's SpongeBob himself! His crimes include causing car accidents (he was trying to direct the cars safely when traffic lights had broken down), and entering someone's house without their permission through their window - he wanted to teach them a lesson about leaving their windows open. SpongeBob doesn't realize that he is the maniac, and he and Patrick go out on patrol to look for him.

At nighttime, Patrick spots Spongebob under a streetlamp, and alerts SpongeBob through a walkie-talkie that he can see the maniac! SpongeBob's following shrieks and running around in fear are related to him through the walkie-talkie by Patrick as the maniac's "maniac shriek" and "acting all crazy". Panic ensues for both of them until SpongeBob finally takes a good look at the "wanted" posters, and realizes he is the maniac.

The police turn up, and Mrs. Puff takes responsibility for SpongeBob's actions, resulting in a short prison sentence.
5. In "Jellyfish Jam", SpongeBob brings a wild jellyfish home as a pet. What does the jellyfish love doing so much that begins to annoy SpongeBob?

Answer: Dancing to music

Yep, the jellyfish loves to dance! When SpongeBob first brings it home, he puts on his giant sound system and they dance the day away! But when it is time to go to bed, the jellyfish is reluctant to go. Although SpongeBob finally gets the jellyfish to bed, when SpongeBob is asleep the jellyfish's friends sneak into the house, and in the morning Spongebob finds the jellyfish partying in the house, which is now a mess! After many futile attempts to get the jellyfish out of the house, SpongeBob and his snail Gary are cornered on the roof of the house, but Gary's eyes keep clicking together in fear.

This calms the jellyfish and allows SpongeBob and Gary to lead them back to Jellyfish Fields, where they belong.
6. In "Sandy's Rocket", SpongeBob manages to convince Sandy to let him accompany her on her trip to the moon, but SpongeBob ends up flying the rocket without Sandy's permission the night before the trip. When he and Patrick (who went with him) land, everything looks just like Bikini Bottom! The boys capture all the aliens who are posing as their friends and neighbors, to prove to Sandy that aliens do in fact exist. Where did SpongeBob and Patrick actually land the rocket?

Answer: Bikini Bottom

Since SpongeBob and Patrick do not know how to control the rocket, it circles the moon a couple of times before heading straight back down into Bikini Bottom. The boys think they have landed on the moon, and that the aliens have projected the environment of Bikini Bottom on that of the moon, to trick them. SpongeBob and Patrick then capture all of the people they encounter.

When Sandy finally catches up with them, they believe that she is also an alien and tie her up too! SpongeBob and Patrick become suspicious of each other, and Patrick ends up tying himself up (with the aid of a gun which shoots out netting), and with all the "aliens" safely on board the rocket, SpongeBob thinks he is heading back for home.

The rocket's fuel runs out when he is directly above the moon, prompting him to realize that he has indeed mistaken the real Bikini Bottom for the moon.
7. In "Squeaky Boots", Mr. Krabs buys his daughter Pearl a pair of fishing boots for her birthday, but when she rejects them, he gives them to SpongeBob instead, who loves them. But the boots' squeaking starts to drive Mr. Krabs crazy, and he decides to get rid of the boots once and for all. How does he dispose of the boots?

Answer: He fries them and eats them.

He sneaks the boots off SpongeBob's feet at night when SpongeBob is sleeping, and at first hides them under the floorboards of the Krusty Krab, but the next day, he has a breakdown, hearing squeaks in everything! He grabs the boots from under the floor, dunks them in a boiling pot, which makes them shrink, and eats them. He then takes a holiday with Pearl to ease his mind, but eating the boots has made him hiccup constantly with a squeak!

This episode is very similar to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart".
8. In "Nature Pants", SpongeBob decides to shun his materialistic life and become a jellyfish. None of his friends think that he will last long out in the wilderness. Which of his friends snaps and tries to catch SpongeBob with a jellyfishing net?

Answer: Patrick

Sandy and Patrick try to lure SpongeBob back to civilization with a rehearsed conversation at a picnic. At first the smell of the Krabby Patty is enough to get SpongeBob salivating and moving closer to the picnic, but when Patrick fails to read his lines and bursts into tears, begging SpongeBob to come home, it prompts SpongeBob into defense mode, and he tells his friends (though apparently quite grudgingly) that his new life as a jellyfish is permanent. Patrick angrily gets a jam jar and Ol' Reliable, a net that used to be SpongeBob's before he decided to become a jellyfish and gave it to Patrick, and tries to catch SpongeBob, who, desperate to get away, hides in the jellyfish hive, where he finds their supply of jelly, which he begins to eat.

This angers the returning jellyfish, who drive him out of Jellyfish Fields. After a night of wandering Bikini Bottom in regret, SpongeBob goes home to his pineapple house, wallowing, where he finds all of his friends and a surprise party!
9. "Opposite Day" is a holiday Squidward makes up to keep SpongeBob and Patrick quiet all day, in the episode of the same name. You have to act the complete opposite of how you would normally act. Squidward has a more specific reason for wanting them away from him than usual. What is Squidward doing?

Answer: Trying to sell his house

SpongeBob and Patrick celebrate Squidward's birthday, but it is the wrong day! This is the last straw for Squidward, who calls an estate agent to sell his house. But when the estate agent mentions that many sales have not been successful because of bad neighbors, Squidward begins to worry. SpongeBob and Patrick, enjoying Opposite Day, mess up SpongeBob's house, as they would ordinarily make it clean.

When Squidward is busying tidying up the mess, SpongeBob decides he is the opposite of SpongeBob - Squidward! SpongeBob and Patrick both decide that they are Squidward for Opposite Day, and when the estate agent arrives, she is led to believe that SpongeBob and Patrick are both Squidward! When Squidward finally realizes what is going on, he tries to explain the situation to the annoyed estate agent, but she leaves in anger, proclaiming she would never sell the house if Squidward was "the last Squidward on Earth"!
10. In "Culture Shock", Mr. Krabs arranges a talent show held at the Krusty Krab, on Squidward's suggestion. Squidward is excited that he will finally be able to show the Bikini Bottomites all his talent. SpongeBob wants to be in the show as well, much to Squidward's annoyance. Squidward finally lets SpongeBob take part in the show. What is his act?

Answer: Cleaning up the stage afterwards

SpongeBob is determined to clean the stage as best he can! After a series of bad acts, it is time for Squidward to take to the stage. Unfortunately, he is subjected to boos, and the audience throw salad from the free salad bar at him. Mr. Krabs then begins to sell the salad at $1.00 each, and makes enough money to fill a wheelbarrow! He then decides to hold another show the following week, despite the reason for the success being Squidward's bad dancing.
