Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Route 666"- Where did Dean first meet Cassie?

Answer: Athens, Ohio

Dean explained to Sam that he'd met her some time back, while he and their father worked on a case. The pair spent several weeks together, and Dean told Cassie the truth about the family business. Cassie was finishing college in Ohio, but was back in Missouri for the episode.
2. "Route 666"- Whose spirit was it powering the ghost truck that killed Martin, Jimmy, Clayton and Mayor Harold Todd?

Answer: Cyrus Dorian

Cyrus had been romantically involved with Cassie's mother at the same time Cassie's father, Martin Robinson, was. Mrs. Robinson ultimately chose Martin over Cyrus. Cyrus changed into an awful man after that, killing black men as he came across them. He even burned down a church that children were practicing inside. All of those children died.

When Cyrus came after Martin, Martin was able to turn the tables and he beat Cyrus to death. Mayor Todd was a deputy back in that time, and he looked the other way. Cyrus's ghost appeared after Mayor Todd bulldozed the old Dorian family home. Chip Foose is a custom car designer, Michael Teutul is one of the men from "American Chopper", and Rich Christensen is the host of "Pinks" on Speed Channel.
3. "Route 666"- How many men were killed in 2006 by Cyrus Dorian?

Answer: 4

Yes, question three gives away the answer to question four and vice versa. This is not a mistake, please send no correction notes! Cassie dad, Martin, was first. Then came Clayton, Jimmy and Harold Todd. Cyrus came after Cassie as well, but the Winchester boys were able to send the spirit away. They had the ghost truck race over hallowed ground and it disappeared.
4. "Nightmare"- What state did the Miller family live in?

Answer: Michigan

Sam awoke after dreaming about Jim Miller's death. He dreamed that something supernatural had locked Jim inside his own car, in his own garage, and killed him with exhaust fumes. The license plates were Michigan state.
5. "Nightmare"- Max Miller used telekinesis to murder four people.

Answer: False

He did use his power to kill three people, but not four. He killed his father, Jim, and his uncle, Roger. Both men beat Max as a young child, but his father's beatings had come more recently. He was going to kill his stepmother and Dean, but Sam saved them both. Sam used his own growing power quite by accident.

He saw Dean being shot and his desperate pain and anger caused the furniture to move away from his closet prison. He ran into the room and stopped the shot from taking place. In the end, Max used telekinesis to kill himself.
6. "Nightmare"- Why did Max want to kill his stepmother?

Answer: she never protected him

In Sam's vision he saw Max send a kitchen knife through her eye. He and Dean arrived in time to stop that event, but caused a new set of events to unfold. Dean brought a gun with him, and Max took it kill his stepmother. Max did allow Sam to talk to him for a little while. During their talk, Sam found out Max's mother had died exactly the same way his own mother had.

Despite their bond, Max was not able to let go of the pain of his abuse. He still wanted to kill his stepmother, and he was willing to shoot Dean in the process.
7. "The Benders"- Dean reported the disappearance of his "cousin" Sam to the Hibbing police. What was the name of the officer who accompanied Dean in his search for Sam?

Answer: Kathleen

Dean had to claim Sam to be his cousin due to the fact that Dean Winchester "died" in the episode "Skin". In that episode, a shapeshifter was killed while wearing his Dean Winchester disguise. It turned out to be a good thing, since Dean was framed for murder by this beast. In "The Benders" Kathleen realized Dean was impersonating a state trooper whose badge had been stolen.

She held off turning Dean (calling himself Greg) into the authorities because she'd also lost her brother years prior. Dean found her brother's (Kyle) car on the property of the Bender family.

In the end, she allowed Dean and Sam to escape before the rest of the police showed up.
8. "The Benders"- Sam and Alvin Jenkins were stolen and caged at the same time. Which movie did Alvin reference when he said this to Sam? "Ned Beatty time man."

Answer: Deliverance

In the 1972 movie "Deliverance", Ned Beatty played Bobby. Bobby and friends Ed, Lewis, and Drew went on a trip down the Cahulawassee River (filmed in Georgia). While on their excursion, they encountered some unpleasant individuals living on the land. Poor Bobby gets what some would consider the worst of it. The Benders reminded Robert of those backwoods men in the movie.
9. "The Benders"- The Benders gave Dean the option of who they'd hunt next. Did he pick Sam to be hunted over Kathleen?

Answer: Yes

Dean probably thought that Sam had a better chance of fighting back and/or getting away from the hunting party. But, after he chose Sam, the eldest Bender told one of his sons to go and kill both Sam and Kathleen.
10. "The Benders"- Which of the Benders was killed at the end of the episode?

Answer: Pa

Kathleen held the rifle on Pa while Sam went to rescue Dean from the evil little girl. She was about 12 or 13 years old, but just as crazy as the rest of the family. They locked her in the closet to await the police, but Jared and Lee were both stashed inside the cages Sam, Robert, and Kathleen had once been inside.

While she stood over Pa Bender, he told her he'd killed her brother Kyle because it was fun. So, she executed him.
