By the time Dean returned from being possessed, Sam had a rhythm, teaching and mentoring the new hunters. While Dean teased him about his lectures to the hunters, he also seemed proud of his brother.

While searching for Maggie, they originally thought they were hunting a ghoul. But, after they found another hunter's body, they realized they were in a trap for hunters, and the predator was a djinn. The djinn had additional powers and strengths, thanks to Michael.

After Bobby was injured by the conjured nightmare, he and Mary decided to get away and spend some time together. Sheriff Donna loaned them her cabin.

The show had some fun, using the same song and moves similar to those made by John Travolta as he walked down the street in "Saturday Night Fever." Then, of course, the viewers were reminded this is "Supernatural," and Winston was grabbed and killed.

Jack found the case of a person killed and found to have human bite marks. Once he and Dean arrived, they discovered several other disappearances. They initially thought the librarian was being stalked by a monster, but then found out Harper the librarian was actually a necromancer who had killed her boyfriend and then reanimated him.

She then proceeded to help him kill others so that he could feed. Jack and Dean were able to stop the zombie (using the same method from season 2's "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"), but Harper got away, sending Jack a love/plan to murder you letter.

Answer: Charlie

Sam worked with Apocalypse World Charlie, on a case involving several disappearances. They discovered it was a musca, a hybrid between a man and a fly, and killed the creature. They also had time to talk, and Sam found out that, unlike Charlie from his world, this Charlie hated hunting and planned to quit. He talked her into reconsidering.

Answer: Jack Kline

Dean was so worried that he was unable to come up with a last name. Sam is the one who gave Kelly's last name, with Castiel spelling it. Sam also remembered Jack's date of birth, although he had to change the year, of course. The brothers and Castiel were devastated to discover the young man was in total systemic failure. Realizing the doctors could not help him, they took him home, and called Rowena for help.

Answer: Dean and Jack

Believing he would be dead in a couple of weeks, Jack told Dean he was going to go to Las Vegas or Tahiti. Dean decided to take him on a road trip, in Baby, instead. It was a nice male bonding trip. Dean taught Jack to drive. They listened to classic rock.

They indulged in junk food. Jack told Dean, "This is the best day ever." Then, they went fishing, since Jack remembered that John had taken Dean fishing, and he wanted the same memory with Dean.

Answer: The Winchesters' owing him one

Ketch led Castiel to Sergei, a shaman. Sergei had the grace from when he cloaked Gabriel so the archangel could hide out as Loki, and he had a spell to say while the boy drank the grace. Sergei said he never charged money; only bartered. Castiel made the deal, agreeing the Winchesters would owe Sergei.

Unfortunately, as the episode ended, the grace and spell had just made the boy worse, and Jack was still dying.

Answer: Jack

Jack died. The Winchesters and Castiel were devastated. But, as is so often the case with "Supernatural" characters, death was not the end of Jack.

As the three men mourned their adopted son Jack, drinking, toasting Jack, and reminiscing, the sad song "Don't Call Home" played in the background. Dean was the last one left drinking.

Answer: Lily Sunder

Lily was the angel killer from "Lily Sunder has Some Regrets." Lily used her magic to let Jack use his soul to sustain his body. She said she would help them in exchange for getting in to heaven, so she could be with her daughter. In order to try to meet her price, the men summoned the god Anubis. But, Anubis told her she would go to Hell when she died. Lily was going to leave, but Dean convinced her to help them anyway, so they would not lose a child, too.

Answer: Kelly

When Jack died, he went to heaven and found his way to Kelly's heaven. Castiel found them together. Castiel also had a reunion with Kelly, who was grateful to Castiel for caring for her son. In order to save Jack, Castiel then made a deal with the Shadow that he would go to the Empty when he died, and the Shadow let the boy go.

Answer: The Shadow

The Shadow ruled The Empty. It considered Jack to be its property since the boy was half angel, so when the nephilim went to Heaven, the Shadow attacked, killing angels. Naomi explained this to Castiel when he went to Heaven looking for Jack. Naomi also gave Castiel a tip to find Michael.

Answer: Lily Sunder

Lily died saving Jack. Since Lily knew saving Jack would cost her her life, her fate changed, and she went to heaven when she died.
