"Survivor: Redemption Island" Part 1 Quiz

A total of sixteen contestants were introduced by the host Jeff Probst. Later, two additional contestants, Boston Rob and Russell, who had appeared in previous seasons, arrived in another helicopter and joined them. Boston Rob had previously appeared in "Survivor: Marquesas", "Survivor: All-Stars" and "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" while Russell had played before in "Survivor: Samoa" and "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains". These eighteen people were then divided equally into two tribes, Ometepe and Zapatera.

In the orange Ometepe tribe, the contestants were Andrea, Ashley, Boston Rob, Francesca, Grant, Kristina, Matt, Natalie and Phillip. The members for the purple Zapatera tribe were David, Julie, Krista, Mike, Ralph, Russell, Sarita, Stephanie and Steve.

Kristina was very excited to find the Hidden Immunity Idol and she shared this news with Francesca and Phillip. However, it was just a matter of time before Phillip told everyone else about this little secret at Tribal Council. Boston Rob asked Kristina to show him the Hidden Immunity Idol. He even offered her to hand over the item to him and promised she would stay in the game but she declined the offer. Jeff commented in the show and also on his personal blog that it was the best first Tribal Council ever.

Answer: Federal agent

The complete quote was "I'm a former federal agent. That's right. Special Agent Sheppard." On the official "Survivor" website on CBS.com, Phillip described himself as outgoing, articulate and determined.

Ometepe lost the first immunity challenge and Francesca became the first person to be sent to Redemption Island.

Answer: He shook hands with some Zapatera tribe members after his Ometepe tribe lost the immunity challenge.

After Ometepe lost the second immunity challenge to Zapatera, Boston Rob saw Matt shake hands with their opponents. Initially, Boston Rob planned to vote for Phillip at the second Tribal Council, but after the incident he decided to vote for Matt. Also, he observed that Matt was very close to Andrea.

At Tribal Council, Matt received four votes while Phillip received two. Kristina felt threatened and she played her Hidden Immunity Idol.

Answer: Ralph

When Russell was sharing the clue with Stephanie and Krista in the forest, Mike and Ralph joined them. Ralph knew that Russell had the clue with him and asked him to share it with all the tribe members. However, Russell denied that he had it.

The host of the show, Jeff wrote about the encounter between Ralph and Russell on his blog, "They met in the forest. The human sweater and the angry gnome."

Answer: To create a fake idol.

Russell knew well that the Hidden Immunity Idol would give him great power in his tribe. However, after trying to find the idol for several days, he still could not find it. One of his alliance members, Stephanie came up with the suggestion to make a fake idol. She then carried her bag around to convince other people that she had the Hidden Immunity Idol.

Answer: Matt

Francesca was eliminated at the very first Tribal Council while Matt was the second person to be voted out. Both of them competed in the first Redemption Island duel. Matt won the duel, which was witnessed by David and Steve from the Zapatera tribe and Ashley and Andrea from the Ometepe tribe.

At Tribal Council, the result of the first round of voting was a tie. Russell, Stephanie and Ralph received three votes each. Russell and his alliance, Stephanie and Krista voted for Ralph while the other six members split their votes between Russell and Stepahie, just in case if Russell had the Hidden Immunity Idol.

All tribe members, except Russell, Ralph and Stephanie were then asked to vote again. In the second round of voting, everyone voted for Russell, except Krista, who voted for Ralph. Russell became the first Zapatera tribe member to be voted out and sent to Redemption Island.

Answer: He cried emotionally.

In "Survivor: Samoa" and "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains", Russell made it to the final three. Ironically, he was the first contestant from the Zapatera tribe to be eliminated from the game. After his loss to Matt, he commented that his tribe needed to throw a challenge on purpose just to vote him out of the game.

Jeff wrote on his blog, "The evil, tattooed, sock stealing, water dumping, idol finding Survivor gnome is gone."

Answer: Kristina

While Phil and Kristina went to Redemption Island to witness the duel between Matt and Russell, Boston Rob took the opportunity to find the Hidden Immunity Idol. In order to distract his tribemates' attention, he brought them to the beach. Then, he hurried back to his campsite and started searching for the Hidden Immunity Idol. He eventually found the idol on one of the trees.

After finding the idol, he kept the secret to himself. He asked his tribemates to split the votes between Kristina and Phillip. At Tribal Council, Phillip received three votes and Kristina received four.

Answer: He switched it with another clue that he found previously.

As a reward, Ometepe won a basket of pastries and donuts, coffee, tea, sugar, honey and creamer.

Jeff commented further on Boston Rob's strategy on his blog. He wrote, "Grant covering for Rob while Rob is double-crossing Grant."

He continued, "Rob is so in control I think he even yelled to our camera operator, "We gotta move" as if to say - if you want to get the shot of me trading out the idol notes, then you better start running, because I have no time to waste!"

Answer: Krista

The third duel was won by Matt and Kristina was eliminated from the game. The duel was witnessed by Boston Rob, Grant, Stephanie and Krista. After Russell was eliminated in the previous episode, Stephanie and Krista lost their ally.

Commenting on Matt's third consecutive win, Jeff wrote on his official blog, "He's humble, he's competitive, he's kind, he has a strong moral compass, he's handsome and as of yet, he can't be beat."
