Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The title of the eleventh episode, "A Mystery Package", referred to the special object wrapped in a cloth that Jeff gave to the Murlonio tribe after the immunity/reward challenge, which was won by Grant. At Tribal Council, after Ralph was voted out, Jeff asked Steve to unwrap the package. What was the object wrapped in the package?

Answer: A set of cards

Steve unwrapped the package and found a set of cards with special symbols on them. Jeff announced that the remaining contestants would immediately compete in their next immunity challenge. The players needed to memorize a series of objects and then showed them in the correct order to Jeff. Boston Rob won this memory challenge and Steve was voted out of the game.
2. In the eleventh episode entitled "A Mystery Package", Julie became the second member of the jury after losing the Redemption Island duel to Matt and Mike. After Ralph and Steve were voted out at the two Tribal Councils, the remaining six players who were still in the game (excluding those on Redemption Island) were Boston Rob, Grant, Phillip, Ashley, Andrea and Natalie. What did the six of them have in common?

Answer: They were all ex-Ometepe members.

In the first and second episodes, Francesca and Matt, both from the Ometepe tribe were voted out of the game. In the third episode, Zapatera purposely threw a challenge to vote Russell out. Kristina from the Ometepe tribe was voted out of the game in the fourth episode. Zapatera's decision to throw their challenge earlier proved to be a deadly mistake when Krista, Stephanie and Sarita were voted out of the game in the following three episodes.

After the merge, Matt rejoined the two tribes. Unfortunately, he was blindsided once again and sent to Redemption Island. In episode nine, Mike and David from the Zapatera tribes were voted out. The bad luck continued when Julie was sent to Redemption Island in episode ten. In episode eleven, Ralph and Steve faced the same fate.

The remaining six players who were still in the game were Boston Rob, Grant, Phillip, Andrea, Ashley and Natalie. They were all ex-Ometepe members and Jeff noted that they no longer had a common enemy.
3. The title of the twelfth episode, "You Mangled My Net", was Phillip's reaction when he discovered the ruined fishing nets that were left unattended in the sea. In this episode, Boston Rob won the physically demanding individual immunity challenge. At Tribal Council, which contestant was blindsided and became the first member of the Ometepe Six to be sent to Redemption Island because of his/her good relationship with Matt?

Answer: Andrea

With six ex-Ometepe tribe members left in the game, Jeff said that someone among the six of them would be blindsided and got voted off. Andrea was also good at challenges so the other members saw her as a bigger threat. Everyone voted for Andrea while Andrea voted for Phillip.
4. In the twelfth episode entitled "You Mangled My Net", the remaining ten contestants received video messages from their loved ones. Mike won the first four-way Redemption Island duel and he was given a choice by Jeff to choose who got to spend some quality time with their loved ones. What was his decision?

Answer: He decided to forgo the visit his mother, and give the reward to the six ex-Ometepe tribe members.

A total of four contestants - Matt, Mike, Ralph and Steve, participated in the first ever four-way duel. Mike won the duel; Matt came in second and Ralph finished third. Steve finished last and he was eliminated from the game.

Mike explained to Jeff, "The decision is almost clear in my head. Yesterday I was reading it, it was either Matthew or Mark, and Jesus was asked, 'Of all the commandments, what are the greatest?' And Jesus responded, 'Love your brother, like you would love yourself.' So, I think, if I give the most good to most people, and make friends with enemy, that's the only play here."

When Mike's mother, Jane was asked by Jeff whether her son's decision surprised her, she replied, "No, this is who my son is. He is a hero."
5. The title of the thirteenth episode, "Too Close for Comfort", was Boston Rob's description about the relationship of two of the contestants who were still in the game. He was worried that the close relationship between these two people might jeopardize his plan to win the game so he tried to separate them by voting one of them out at Tribal Council. However, one of them won the individual immunity challenge and Boston Rob decided to vote out Grant instead. Who were the two people?

Answer: Ashley and Natalie

Being the only two girls left in the game, Ashley got really close to Natalie. Boston Rob's previous plan was to bring Natalie and Phillip to the final three. He tried to separate them apart by voting out Ashley at Tribal Council. Unfortunately, Ashley won the individual immunity challenge and he had to change his plan by voting out Grant instead.

By winning the individual immunity challenge, Ashley also won the reward, namely a three course meal, which she decided to share with her close friend, Natalie.
6. In the thirteenth episode, entitled "Too Close for Comfort", the second four-way Redemption Island duel took place. The four players, namely Matt, Mike, Ralph and Andrea competed in the duel where they needed to use a handle to navigate through a maze before completing a word puzzle. Who was the last one to finish and therefore eliminated from the game?

Answer: Ralph

Ralph had a good start by solving the maze first but he had trouble completing the word puzzle. Mike finished first, followed by Matt and Andrea.
7. The title of the fourteenth episode, "Seems Like a No Brainer", was Boston Rob's thought on how easy it was to vote out a particular contestant. Having won the final Redemption Island duel, this contestant made his/her way back to the game but he/she was apparently an easy target for Boston Rob and was eventually voted out at Tribal Council. Who was he/she?

Answer: Andrea

The final Redemption Island duel saw the four-way battle between Andrea, Grant, Matt and Mike. The last one standing would re-enter the game while the remaining three losers would become members of the jury. Andrea won the duel. Grant, Matt and Mike became the fifth, sixth and seventh members of the jury.
8. In the fourteenth episode, entitled "Seems Like a No Brainer", two Tribal Councils were held to eliminate two more contestants. For the first immunity challenge, the contestants needed to race along a balance beam to retrieve four bags that contained 100 numbered tiles before arranging them in ascending order on a board. Which player, who was a school nurse, won this challenge and hence the immunity necklace?

Answer: Ashley

Ashley finished first in the challenge. With the immunity necklace, the other players could not vote for her at Tribal Council. Boston Rob said it was an easy vote as they would vote for Andrea, who just came back from Redemption Island.
9. In the fourteenth episode, entitled "Seems Like a No Brainer", Ashley was eliminated from the game at the second Tribal Council when she lost the second immunity challenge. For the second individual immunity challenge, the contestants would race through a big maze to collect four bags of puzzle pieces before completing a word puzzle. Which contestant won this challenge and hence guaranteed a spot in the final three?

Answer: Boston Rob

The answer to the word puzzle spelled out the phrase "Only You Are Safe". Boston Rob managed to solve the puzzle before Ashley and hence won the individual immunity challenge.
10. In the fifteenth episode entitled "Reunion", which was also the season finale, the host Jeff Probst revealed the final three of the 22nd season of "Survivor" - Boston Rob, Phillip and Natalie. A total of nine jury members who were eliminated in previous Tribal Councils cast their votes for the ultimate sole survivor. Who eventually outwitted, outplayed and outlasted the other contestants and claimed the title of the sole survivor for "Survivor: Redemption Island"?

Answer: Boston Rob

Having played the game of "Survivor" for the fourth time, Boston Rob commented that he had played his best game. By winning the title of the sole survivor, he took home the attractive one million dollars prize. Boston Rob's wife, Amber and their two daughters, Lucia and Carino also attended the reunion show. Boston Rob received eight votes (from David, Julie, Steve, Grant, Ashley, Andrea, Matt and Mike) while Phillip received one (from Ralph).
