Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Graduation Day"- Isabelle takes several lives in this episode. Which of these people was NOT one of her victims?

Answer: Daniel Armand

Someone in the Nova group used their power to attack Shawn Farrell. Richard, Matthew, Tom and Diana suspected Daniel Armand had either done the attack or ordered it to be done. Isabelle decided to take matters into her own hands, as Shawn had turned into a paranoid schizophrenic over night. Matthew told her she could not go out on her own to save Shawn, as his undoing was ultimately best for Isabelle's destiny. So, Isabelle killed Matthew first.

Then, 4400 Zachary Gidlund met with Richard to give him the name of Jane Nance.

She'd approached him and he got the feeling she was part of the Nova group. Isabelle took that information, broke Shawn out of him hospital, and went after Jane. She went from Jane to Jorge and finally to Daniel Armand. Each person led her down the path a little further.

When she got to Daniel, she had him reverse Shawn's condition. She did want to kill Daniel, but Shawn's reaction caused her to change her mind. She did to Daniel what she'd done to Jane and Jorge, she turned their own 4400 power against them. Daniel lived, but ended up with a broken mind. Isabelle argued that she hadn't killed anyone, just turned their powers against them. That is the logic of an emotionally immature person.

It would be like starting a fire and then saying the fire killed people, not you.
2. "Graduation Day"- What was the name of Alana's student who could feel her rage?

Answer: Todd

Todd Barstow was taken in August of 1995. When he returned, his parents had another child. Alana offered to take Todd into her false world, so he could get to know his younger brother. Todd declined her offer, but told her he knew what her pain was. He gave her the name of the man who had killed her husband and son right before she was taken. Carter Jenkins played Todd. Carter played an integral part in the one and only season of "Surface".

He played Miles, the teenager who raised one of the man made creatures from the sea. Miles named the creature Nimrod, Nim for short. "Surface" ended in dramatic fashion, with Miles, Caitlin, Rich and Laura surviving the massive tsunami.
3. "Graduation Day"- What power did 4400 Jane Nance possess?

Answer: she could communicate with animals

Right before Isabelle arrived at her home, we saw Jane with a houseful of animals. She was talking to them as if they could understand her, and then we see that they could! Isabelle made the animals attack Jane, or that was alluded to later. Jane was found by NTAC with her animals feeding off of her. Ulla Friis played Jane. She guest starred on "John Doe" and "Stargate SG-1" as well.
4. "The Home Front"- Shawn gets a visit from his ex-love Nikki. What favor did Nikki want from Shawn?

Answer: him to heal her father

Nikki's father was in end stage pancreatic cancer. Shawn went to the hospital and healed him, and then he paid off the man's medical expenses. This appearance from Nikki caused a raging jealously in Isabelle, who made it clear to Shawn he'd better leave Nikki alone.
5. "The Home Front"- Which two prominent characters had to leave town in this episode?

Answer: Alana and Gary

Alana committed a crime when she alerted Gary Navarro that NTAC was going to capture him. She told Tom that she saved Gary to alleviate Tom's guilt about not helping Gary as promised. So, Tom made a deal with Dennis Ryland to hand over Gary in exchange for Alana's freedom.

When they showed up for the exchange, Tom and Diana helped Alana and Gary escape and threatened Dennis to keep him quiet.
6. "Blink"- How are Tom and Diane drugged with the substance called Blink?

Answer: they eat infused cookies

Each agent was delivered a basket of cookies, with the note that said the other was the sender. It turned out to be the delivery guy who's the one making the cookies. His mom was a 4400 with the ability to produce the fluid. He spiked the cookies for Tom and Diana as a "gift".

The substance made people hallucinate people from their pasts, and allowed them to work out old wounds. The young man thought it would be nice for the agents to get that chance themselves. Unfortunately, several people killed themselves while the substance was in their system.

Some memories are just too painful to be recalled that vividly.
7. "Blink"- Which 4400 was responsible for the production of the Blink?

Answer: Naomi Bondermann

Naomi disappeared in 1992, and after coming off of Ryland's inhibitor, began producing a weird oil. It even caused her to see her own dead sister. They were able to have a great conversation, resolving their long time differences.
Tess Doerner was first seen in the season two premier "Wake Up Call". She was in the institution with the probable father of the 4400 technology, Kevin Burkhardt. Summer Glau played Tess in seasons two and three. She also played the mentally disturbed River in the TV series "Firefly" and the hit movie "Serenity".
Todd Barstow was the young man in Alana's class who could sense another person's pain and rage.
8. "The Ballad of Kevin and Tess"- When they first went to visit Tess, what did Tom and Diana find her doing?

Answer: reading to children

Tess was in a bookstore reading to a group of small children. She told the duo that she'd been living in a halfway house and had conquered her schizophrenic symptoms. In truth she was hiding Kevin, who'd had a recent attempt on his life.
9. "The Ballad of Kevin and Tess"- Tess was helping Kevin experiment on Tom Baldwin.

Answer: False

Tess was using her power to compel people in order for Kevin to inject Diana with the synthesized Promicin. Diana was unaware of these visits, which eventually caused her to feel very ill.
10. "The Ballad of Kevin and Tess"- Who did we see at the very end of the episode, giving samples of Promicin to Dennis Ryland's company?

Answer: Isabelle

The episode ends with NTAC saving Diana, and Tess helping Kevin escape. Kevin sheds his horribly disfigured skin, revealing an even younger Kevin underneath than we'd originally seen. Then, he and Tess drive away.
Isabelle is the last one seen. She appears to be hooked up to a dialysis machine, which seems to be recycling her blood as it removes the Promicin. The man aiding her in this task tells someone that they currently have a two year supply of the enzyme. Then, we see a room lined with shelves, full of the green Promicin. The lights go out in the room and the fluid glows in the dark.
