Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Kyle goes to their local 4400 Foundation center, is he able to see his cousin Shawn?

Answer: No

He is easily walking through the crowd looking around for Shawn, when Devon approaches him. She informs Kyle that Shawn is not available to see anyone at that time, and Kyle is quickly irritated. He ends up being forcibly removed from the building, but later meets with Shawn in a neutral place. Chad Faust (Kyle Baldwin) also starred in another series of similar circumstances.

It was the Steven Spielberg presented series "Taken". His role was very small and non-credited. He also played a bully named Kyle in a season two episode of "Smallville". Kyle spent three years in a coma, until Shawn returned from the future and healed him.

Initially, Kyle was only a passenger inside his healed body. The soul of man from the future had accidentally been trapped inside Kyle for the 3 years.

He returned home and Kyle's personality returned.
2. Billy Campbell plays a character named Jordan Collier. Jordan claims to be one of the 4400 as well, and goes on to develop the 4400 Foundation. He claims he can unlock the "4400" in everyone. Who is his female watchdog that walks the floors of the local 4400 Foundation center?

Answer: Devon

She is smart, strong, and a little cold in her mannerisms. She is absolutely a watchdog for the center, and takes charge whenever she suspects a new 4400 walks into the building. Jordan wants all of the power the 4400 possess at his disposal. Jody Thompson plays Devon.
3. We see Shawn heal a child of a fatal illness. What disease did the young boy have?

Answer: leukemia

The child's desperate parents paid Jordan Collier a "donation" in order to have Shawn heal him. They had tried every possible treatment and the child would not remain in remission. The money, Jordan tells Shawn later, is a means to an end. It turns out Jordan is trying to overthrow the government of a small country so he and the 4400 can have a refuge when the time comes to leave the country. Patrick Flueger plays Shawn Ferrell. Shawn is the cousin of Kyle and nephew to Agent Tom Baldwin. Tom learned at the end of season one that his job was to aid the 4400 and protect them as best as he could.
4. Tess Doerner, another 4400 returnee, was spending her time inside a mental hospital. She told Tom she had memories of her time away and missed it. What had Tess done that took control over the people inside the hospital, and later Agents Tom and Diana?

Answer: Both of these

Tess had no apparent physical or mental powers. But, she did what the people from the future had instructed her to do. She had the "plans" inside her head from them, and so she drew the tower she saw. Her memories of the future turned out to be untrue, but the tower was real. It sent a pulse out that hurt to hear, but it awakened a scientist she'd befriended inside the hospital. He'd been there for six years.
Summer Glau, who played Tess, had her beauty down played for this role. She looked the part of a paranoid schizophrenic. Summer also played River in the short lived Joss Whedon series "Firefly". Joss may have first noticed her when she was cast for one episode of his series "Angel". She played a ballerina trapped in a time loop by a ruthless man who wanted to keep her forever. The episode was "Waiting In The Wings" from season three.
5. There was a religious zealot after the 4400 in this episode. Unfortunately for him it was Richard, Lilly and baby Isabelle that he encountered in a small town. Who was this man?

Answer: Reverend Josiah

The amazing Charles Napier played this man who'd dedicated himself to ridding the world of the 4400 plague. When he first encounter Lilly and Isabelle, the baby let loose a maelstrom inside the small town store they were all in.
6. Which of these events was not caused by baby Isabelle?

Answer: a gas station explosion

The Reverend Josiah and his two accomplices chased the trio through the forest. Richard was injured and unable to protect Lilly and Isabelle. So, Isabelle took care of the men herself. She caused one of the men to commit suicide with a shotgun, the reverend to shoot his own son Gabriel, and then the reverend to have a heart attack. Both of the younger men may have been his sons, but he only identified one as his son for sure. Later (episode 2), Richard shows fear of Isabelle and she causes his heart to skip a few beats as well.

It was unclear at the episode's end if she was trying to frighten Richard or she showed him something that made him remember their truth. You could hear the heart beats change and he clutched at his chest, but he also looked like he could see something we could not see.

Afterward, he did not appear particularly afraid of Isabelle, so I am not sure.
7. Maia gets a chance to attend a sleep over with a little girl in her building. Later that evening, she is returned to Diana crying. The girls had made fun of her because she expressed a love for whom?

Answer: Frank Sinatra

Maia was the first abductee, taken in 1946 at age 8. Her new friend was not unkind, but the other girls were. So, when the mother brought her back to Diana, she suggested that just Maia and her little girl could play together at a later date.
8. Now that Tom and Diana's former boss, Dennis Ryland, has relocated, who is their new person in command?

Answer: Nina Jarvis

Samantha Ferris plays Nina. When season two starts off, Tom Baldwin has spent the last year pushing paper. He had not been able to work in the field along-side his former partner Diana Skouris. Nina agrees to allow Tom back on the job, as long as he signs a non-dated letter of resignation. That way she can fill in the date whenever she feels he's crossed the line.
9. Due to his involvement with Tess, the father of the 4400 technology is awakened after six years of not talking or thinking clearly. What was Kevin Burkoff's job before he began suffering delusions at age 30?

Answer: Professor of Neurochemisty

He specialized in trying to unlock dormant neuro pathways. These dormant pathways would unlock special mobilities, such as precognition, telekinesis, and the power to heal with touch. At the age of 30 he suffered his first delusion, fell silent two years later and was hospitalized for six years.

It was Tess' pulse making tower that awakened him and sent him back on his path to developing the technology that the 4400 had placed inside them while they'd been away.
10. What sport did Kyle reveal to his father that he was ready to learn to play?

Answer: Golf

At the end of the episode we see Tom teaching Kyle some golf swings in their front yard. We see Kevin saying goodbye to Tess, and leaving her the H.P. Lovecraft book of short stories she'd read to him. At the very end we see Diana finally deciding to read Maia's journal of precognition.

Her last entry reads, "Mom's bosses will be punished for betraying us." Maia had spent the last four months pretending her ability to predict the future had disappeared, but Diana accidentally found her journal. It was Diana's friend in the think tank that convinced her it was her job to know what Maia had seen.
