Answer: Cambodia

In Leg 5, teams started their journey at Wat Phnom in Cambodia, one of the largest temples in Phnom Penh. Here, teams ripped open their clues in the morning and were told to travel to the Persian Gulf to sign up for a shuttle outside the world's tallest building. Teams needed to deduce that they would be heading to the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. To do this, all eight teams took the same plane from Phnom Penh to Bangkok, Thailand, and then to their next destination. Upon arriving, teams signed up for one of two departure times on a board at the Dubai Fountain.

Answer: Meghan and Cheyne

The next morning, teams were led to the Burj Dubai (later renamed the Burj Khalifa) to ascend to the 120th floor of the building, still under construction, and open the clue box containing their next clue. This would include the only Fast Forward task for this "Amazing Race". For this task, which Meghan and Cheyne decided to complete, the participating team needed to visit the Dubai Autodrome where one member was required to hop into a Formula Three racer and complete one lap of the track in under forty-five seconds. Because Meghan and Cheyne completed the task, they were allowed to skip all tasks and proceed directly to the next Pit Stop of the race in a Maserati.

Answer: Water

Teams not completing the Fast Forward after visiting the Burj Dubai were told to find one of the marked cars on the P2 level of the Dubai Mall. From here, teams would need to drive themselves through the city streets of Dubai and into the desert to locate the Margham Sand Dunes at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. Upon their arrival they would hop into a marked 4x4 shuttle and reach their next clue box containing a Road Block on the desert dunes. For this Road Block, one member of each team needed to brave the desert heat and search for one of several urns buried to their rims in the sand in the area.

When they found one with water they would need to use a ladle to scoop it into a pouch and return the full pouch to a camel owner to receive their next clue. Brian, Tiffany, Dan, Big Easy, Matt, Canaan, and Lance finished this task.

Answer: Two

After the Road Block, teams were told to drive back into the city of Dubai and to beat the heat at Ski Dubai, an indoor ski hill the length of four football fields. Inside, teams found the Detour clue requiring a choice between 'Build a Snowman' and 'Find a Snowman'.

In 'Build a Snowman', teams needed to gather snow and bring it outside into the extreme heat to build a snowman like one shown on a model nearby. Once they built the snowman to the satisfaction of their attendant they would receive their next clue.

In 'Find a Snowman', teams took a chairlift to the top of the hill and used sleds to ride down to a set of marked snow piles. Teams needed to search these piles for a miniature snowman which could be traded for their next clue. Flight Time and Big Easy and Brian and Ericka found their snowmen and while others tried this task, the other five teams completed the 'Build a Snowman' task.

Answer: Lance and Keri

After the Detour, teams were told to drive to the next Pit Stop, the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, one of the city's largest resorts. Here, teams would find Phil at the mat waiting to check them in. Meghan and Cheyne arrived first with a forty-minute boost from their Fast Forward and both claimed a victory and a Jamaican trip (c/o Travelocity) as a reward. Lance and Keri were unable to recover from their poor drive through Dubai and ended up eliminated in this leg of the race becoming the fifth team to do so.

Answer: Briefcase

Starting Leg 6 the next day, teams departed from the Pit Stop at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah and were told to bring with them one of the several briefcases waiting near the mat. To begin the leg, teams were required to hop into taxis to drive them through the city of Dubai to their next clue box waiting at the end of a dock at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

Here, teams would locate their Road Block clue which would allow them to make use of said briefcase.

Answer: Watch

For this leg's Road Block task, one member of each team needed to take an inflatable raft and paddle it out into the river to an anchored boat. Once that team member arrived, the owner would present them with a watch as is custom for guests. When the team member paddled back they would be able to use the watch to open the briefcase brought with them and to receive their next clue inside.

This code would be 835 as per the time set on the watch. Cheyne, Brian, Big Easy, Gary, Dan, Maria, and Canaan finished this task.

Answer: Maria and Tiffany

After the Road Block, teams were told to locate their next clue box waiting at the Abra Station in the Old Souk of Dubai. Here, they would receive their detour task which could be completed after they took a ride across the river. This Detour required a choice between 'Gold' and 'Glass'.

In 'Gold', teams headed to the New Gold Center to weigh $500,000-worth of gold to the ounce. To do this they needed to weigh the gold according to its value as per trade prices, a number which could change at any minute. Using calculators, Sam and Dan, Maria and Tiffany, and Flight Time and Big Easy made easy work of this task.

In 'Glass', teams headed to a spice market to assemble twelve glass hookahs waiting in a crate. If teams used all of the pieces available and in the correct orders, they would receive their next clue. Meghan and Cheyne, Brian and Ericka, Gary and Matt, and Mika and Canaan completed this task.

Answer: Leap of Faith

After the Detour, teams were told to travel by taxi to the Atlantis, The Palm Resort in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Here, teams would need to perform a "leap of faith" to collect their next clue. By this, teams were to gather that they would need to wear their bathing suits and ride down a six story water slide known as "The Leap of Faith", which sent racers down at a nearly-ninety-degree angle.

At the bottom, teams would receive their next clue. If a team member could not complete the ride, they would have two minutes to make their decision before the next team could take the plunge.

Answer: Mika and Canaan

After the water slide ride, teams were told to make their way on foot to the sixth Pit Stop of the race at Dolphin Beach located on the property at Palm Jumeirah. Here, Meghan and Cheyne won another leg of the race (their third) and won themselves a couple of watercraft. Mika and Canaan, while beating Flight Time and Big Easy by about a half hour by the time they reached the Leap of Faith, were passed due to Mika's crippling fear of heights and water.

She did not complete the task (though Canaan did) and they forfeited themselves from the race.

They placed last and were eliminated.
