Answer: Howard and Raj put Sheldon's information on a dating site

When Leonard saw that Penny had moved on, Howard and Raj encouraged him to get onto a dating site so he could move on too. Then, while telling Leonard about that dating sites had done for him, Howard says that dating sites can find a match for anybody. This gives him an idea. Let's put Sheldon's info on a dating site and see if they can find a match for him. Sure enough, the site did find a match for him. Sheldon was very reluctant to go along with this. Then, Raj blackmailed him by hiding a dirty sock in his apartment. So they took Sheldon to Amy and they hit it off right away.

Answer: Penny

During the 4-month hiatus the show was on after the end of season 3, Sheldon and Amy had been texting each other a lot, but had never actually met in person. Then one day, at the beginning of season 4, the guys invite Penny back to their apartment. Penny learns to her shock that Sheldon has a girlfriend.

However, they were just texting. Penny suggests the idea that Sheldon date Amy. So, Leonard forces Penny to drive her to his date. Penny tries to teach the 2 of them how to date. Neither seems interested in listening to her.

Answer: An argument over which branch of science is better

For a little while, everything seems to be going great for them. They both finally found someone just like them. They both finally found someone who is as smart as they are. Sheldon's friends hated both of them together, but that might have only made it more magical for the two of them. And then, at lunch one day, Amy says that Sheldon's work is impressive... for theoretical work. Sheldon is offended by this and this begins an argument over which field is better, theoretical physics or neuro-biology. This results in a break-up.

This break-up causes Sheldon's obsession with cats, not vice-versa. Sheldon adopts a lot of cats AFTER the break-up to cope with his sadness.

Sheldon's refusal to have sex eventually causes a break-up at the end of season 8. That wasn't their first break-up though. They were officially broken up, albeit for a brief time, after the argument over which branch of science is better back in season 4.

Amy dating Stuart only strengthened Sheldon and Amy's relationship. When Sheldon realized his relationship was in trouble, he did what he had to do to take it to the next level. Amy was always more interested in Sheldon than in Stuart, so that's when they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.

One of Amy's hobbies is playing the harp on her alone time. Sheldon does not care to listen to her playing the harp.

Amy often leers at Penny and talks to her in an excited way, often referring to Penny as her "besty" even though Penny does not feel that way about Amy. Amy once even made a painting of Amy and Penny together and gave it to Penny to hang on a wall in her apartment. Penny did not like the painting, and told that to Bernadette who agreed with her. So, Penny would hang the painting on the wall to not hurt Amy's felling, then she would take it down when Amy was gone. Amy once discovered this, and got really upset. Penny then felt the need to lie and say that the reason she didn't like the painting was because Bernadette wasn't in it.

This motivates Amy to put it back on Penny's wall. The painting is then hung on the 4th wall and never seen again.

Sheldon and Amy get in a fight because Amy achieves a major accomplishment at work and Sheldon gets jealous. On Leonard's advice, Sheldon decides to buy Amy a gift. Upon Penny's suggestion, that gift is a tiara. When Amy sees the tiara, she gets REALLY excited and immediately forgives Sheldon.

Answer: Being a Maid of Honor at Bernadette's wedding

Earlier in season 5, Bernadette and Penny go shopping for wedding gowns without Amy. Amy feels very sad about this. Bernadette decides to make Amy to Maid of Honor to cheer her up. Then, Amy becomes as excited about Howard and Bernadette's wedding as Howard and Bernadette.

Raj has plans for himself and the guys (who aren't in space at the time), but both Leonard and Sheldon have dates. This makes Raj feel sad and lonely. Sheldon feels bad for him, so he invites Raj on his date with Amy. Sheldon is glad to do this, because he has to provide Amy romance, but he is never told that he can't outsource that to an Indian.

Amy invites Sheldon to a funeral. But then Amy becomes too sick to go to it. Sheldon feels the need to help her feel better and says he has to rub oil on her chest. Sheldon ends up doing this a lot to Amy. Amy gets excited when Sheldon does this, and the excitement speeds up her recovery.

But she keeps asking Sheldon to do this because she loves it. Sheldon eventually runs tests in the lab and learns that Amy recovers. Sheldon decides to punish Amy by spanking her. It turn out not to be good idea for a punishment, though Sheldon never realizes it.

Amy recommends the word ex-TRACT. Sheldon likes the idea of the word, but doesn't want to play it because it would have been Amy's word not his. Sheldon plays it anyway, saying that he was playing the word EX-tract, spelled the same way but pronounced differently, so that he supposedly won't be playing Amy's word (not that Hawking would know or care anyway).

For Raj's scavenger hunt, Amy and Howard are paired up. They learn that they both love Neil Diamond. They both quickly lose interest in the scavenger hunt (which turned out to be unwinnable anyway) and they spend most of their on-camera appearances in this episode singing Neil Diamond songs together.

Answer: Raiders of the Lost Ark

Sheldon and Amy watch Raiders of the Lost Ark together. Amy tells Sheldon that there is a glaring flaw in the story line: Indiana Jones had nothing to do with the outcome of the movie. Sheldon has a hard time refuting this, as do the other guys. Sheldon decides to get revenge by running "Little House on the Prairie" for Amy. Amy apologizes.

Answer: Bert

In one episode, a big man named Bert hits on Amy. Amy doesn't realize this until Howard and Raj point it out. Amy tells Bert that she has a boyfriend, but that doesn't stop Bert from inviting her to a mineral and rock show. Raj and Howard get Amy out of it by going to the show with Bert instead.

Originally, Sheldon and Amy agreed to buy a turtle together. That plan changed when the turtle bit Sheldon. The relationship took a turn for the worse when Amy learned that Sheldon applied to a mission to colonize Mars without consulting her. In the end, they decide to fill out another application together.

The dinner on a train was in season 7 and Sheldon had no role in Amy getting Howard's TARDIS (Amy didn't buy it anyway). Nobody in the "Big Bang" world can bring the dead back to life yet.
