Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was Henry's former partner at the lawfirm?

Answer: His brother

Henry Wingrave received the post at his desk, and amongst his letters was one addressed to his late brother, Dominic, the former partner of their law firm. Truth be told, he was used to the office; he liked it more than his flat and it occupied him there. On her way out one evening, his receptionist left a message from Bly Manor with him. Dani stated the kids were fine, but there were some oddities if he'd like to chat.

He didn't really, feeling that as long as the children were well, he was satisfied.

After his receptionist departed, he poured himself a scotch and trod over to Dominic's old office to read his letter. Dominic's ghost, taking a seat, sipped at the scotch.
2. The morning after the bonfire, where did Flora awaken?

Answer: In the yard

Henry was at the house when his sister-in-law, Charlotte, was ready to give birth to Flora. Dominic arrived just in time. The doctor reached Bly Manor in short time as well, intending to perform the birth there in the master bedroom. Henry excused himself for the event.

The morning after the bonfire, Dani woke up to bring Jaime, working in the greenhouse, a mug of coffee so that they could discuss what happened the previous night. Dani explained that she needed Jamie just as a touchstone, especially with Owen's situation and Hannah appearing to disappear for bouts. Dani felt bad about the way their conversation ended, so she wanted to make it right and, as such, she invited Jamie to get a drink with her at the pub in Bly; just a boring, old pub. Coincidentally, Jaime lived in a flat above the pub. Their flirting over this situation ended, however, when Flora awakened in the yard and Dani spotted the girl waling absent-mindedly through the fog, unsure of what happened. Flora was the only one who could see Rebecca standing over Dani's shoulder before the ghost's finger touched her forehead.
3. Henry claimed to have an imaginary friend when he was a young boy at Bly Manor. What was this friend?

Answer: A soldier

Flora awakened on another morning, before she received the dollhouse, to find someone hiding at the foot of her bed. When she looked over the edge of her bed, however, the child she thought she saw had already moved to her cupboard. Flora tried to make friends, but when the figure turned around, it didn't have a face.

She ran to her parents' room in the other wing and insisted that someone was there, but she found her mother in the bedroom with Uncle Henry. He claimed that he stayed the night in the guest room.

When all of them returned to Flora's room, they didn't find anything of note, but her mother suggested she try to make friends, just like Henry once had when he was a young boy in Bly Manor. He, too, was afraid of the imagined figure he met-- they were a soldier-- but when he told the soldier a story, his fears went away. Flora struggled with the situation as she believed something was wrong.

She should have been younger, she asserted, but she was 8. She should have been 5.

Henry told her that she knew why this was-- she was experiencing a memory. It was something that was happening more and more; she was getting tucked away into memories more and more, and it would end when she woke up.
4. Who was responsible for the unresponsive and believed-to-be prank calls to Bly Manor?

Answer: Henry

Dani woke Flora up in her bed after the bout out in the yard and it seemed like Flora fainted. Flora suggested she was fine, but she wanted to sleep. Dani contacted Henry's office shortly after to note the sleepwalking, but Henry refused to pick up-- certainly she would have called the doctor.

Shortly after Flora met the child in her room, Henry called her from his office to ask if she had any further developments, perhaps a story to tell, and it was during that call that he discovered Dominic had returned to Bly Manor. It was all a fair bit awkward; Henry had been calling to speak with Charlotte and likely continue their affair.

Still in the office, Henry shared another drink with the ghost of his brother. Dominic criticized him for letting Peter rob them blind (though Henry replaced the money) and recommended not calling the manor again looking for Flora-- the calls were very obviously scaring the residents. His brother also suggested not lingering quite so long-- it was clear he wanted to-- and to send a notice of death to stop receiving mail on his behalf. Henry instead tossed it into his desk drawer.
5. Despite the difficulty of growing them in England, what did Jamie manage to plant in the woods on the grounds?

Answer: Moonflower

Dani and Hannah checked in on Flora; she spent the entire day in bed. Though Dani called Henry for any sort of assistance, Hannah admitted to her that Henry wasn't really himself anymore...hadn't been for a long time. Charlotte and Dominic never came back from their trip, but neither did Henry, to an extent. As they left Flora's room, Dani barely noticed something out of the corner of her eye before it was gone-- someone else playing at the dollhouse.

Dani headed down to the kitchen to find the other staffers remaining behind. Jamie invited Dani out for a bit of a walk out in the woods while Hannah and Owen stayed back, and it was then that she led her to a bit of a secret spot, one at which she managed to grow moonflowers on a small trellis. The moonflowers would be dead in three weeks, but every night, new buds would bloom. Jamie claimed to feel the same about people-- a lot of work, possibly for little payoff. She cut to the chase and told a story about her parents, family, and life, and what brought her to where she arrived at Bly Manor. People, she said, weren't worth it, but plants were; you could put your heart into them and watch them grow through your effort. But maybe once in a blue moon, like the moonflower, it could be worthwhile.
6. Flora's dollhouse was a gift given to her on her birthday.

Answer: True

Henry continued to be haunted, not only by Dominic, but by Charlotte, still wooing him from beyond the grave. On one of Flora's birthdays, Henry was responsible (with Peter Quint's help) for giving her a dollhouse, a replica of Bly Manor, as a gift. Clearly one-of-a-kind, she was undeniably going to lose her mind over it.

Henry, regrettably, couldn't be present for the birthday party as he would be engaged with work in Berlin. Dominic seemed far from thrilled with the delivery. That night, Charlotte found Dominic in the kitchen, sitting in the dark and pondering Flora's birth.

Although Dominic believed she arrived early, he started connecting the dots soon after; Flora was right on time and she wasn't his (he would have been in Russia at the time). Charlotte couldn't hide the fact and could barely bring herself to admit she also loved her brother-in-law.
7. What word did Dominic use to describe Henry's state at Bly Manor?

Answer: 'Banished'

Dani slept well the night after the moonflower viewing, awakening in her bed with Jaime. When she got up to look out the window, however, she saw Flora standing in the yard, once again a victim to her recent bouts of sleepwalking. It was apparent that Flora didn't quite know why or how she ended up in the yard and Dani couldn't see as Rebecca reached out and placed her own mind in the girl's body.

Henry, still in the office, received another call from Dani. Once again, he insisted that he was unavailable unless someone at Bly Manor was hurt. He remembered, in that moment, when Dominic started packing his items from the office. That day, he said Henry could remain there but he had no further interest in seeing him or the work. Dominic would be her father-- not Henry. Instead, Henry would be banished from Bly Manor and their lives.
8. Where were Dominic and Charlotte when they died?

Answer: India

Despite the drama at the office in London, Charlotte and Dominic still planned to head to India, leaving the children behind at Bly Manor with Ms. Grose. To put Flora's mind at ease, Charlotte handed her a talisman, something she used to make when she was a young girl to protect her and keep them happy. It happened again though-- Flora realized this was her, tucked away again, safe in another memory.

When Flora awakened, she found herself in her bed. It was nighttime, and when she went downstairs she found the staffers and Miles eating dinner in the kitchen. Sad that they ate without her, she discovered that she already ate in her room though she didn't seem like herself at the time.

That was when the phone rang again.
9. Which of these, according to Dominic's ghost, was the worst part of the tragedy in Henry's mind?

Answer: Having to call Bly Manor to break the news

When Dani picked up the phone, Henry didn't respond to her; he only hoped to speak to Flora, as usual. In his office, Dominic's ghost chastised him for his pathetic actions. Another memory came knocking on his door shortly after, this time of Charlotte visiting the office to apologize for everything she never told him. She informed Henry that she and Dominic needed to go to India to retrace their honeymoon and try their best to fix their marriage. She couldn't leave until she said her piece, so she kissed him goodbye and left.

Dominic's ghost fast forwarded to the horrible moment when Henry received the call from the British Consulate in India. There was a terrible accident. Neither survived. It was that night Dominic's ghost arrived.

Henry had to organize the funerals himself and bury empty coffins. He had to call Bly and break the news. Flora's voice was the first he heard when he called.

Henry, trying the phone again, discovered that the line was disconnected. To deal with the issue and the terrible feeling in his gut, he decided he would take the three hour trip to Bly and make things right.
10. Where did Miles knock Dani unconscious?

Answer: The attic

Dani put Flora back to bed after the outburst at dinner, tucking her in and returning to chat with Jaime. As Jaime departed for the evening, she promised she would stay on other nights.

Flora, meanwhile, awakened to find the faceless ghost of the young boy playing at her dollhouse. When the boy ran, Flora pursued him into the attic and tried to give him a story to make him feel better. As she handed him the face of one of the broken dolls stowed away there, she realized that she had once again been tucked away into a memory, but in realizing this, she was able to awaken and pin the blame on Ms. Jessel for doing so.

She woke up-- for real this time-- in her bed and told the ghost of her former governess that she didn't like the game anymore. Ms. Jessel appeared before Flora and heard her out, but their conversation came to an end when Dani opened the door to find Flora speaking to the ghost. Frightened, Dani brought the girl out into the hallway only to come face-to-face with Peter Quint. Rebecca once again placed her hand onto Flora's shoulder and inhabited her body, racing up to the attic, and it was the perfect opportunity for Miles to emerge from the shadows and knock out the governess.
