Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The core "Justice League" members consist of Superman, Batman, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl and Green Lantern. However, the show also had an unofficial outer core who were welcome members in the league (all these members names were mentioned after Superman's apparent death) in the absence of any core member. Which of the following heroes aren't part of that unofficial outer core?

Answer: Green Arrow

In the episode "Hereafter" when Superman was proclaimed dead, the leaguers tried to fill up the seventh spot. Wonder Woman's choice was to change Batman from a part leaguer to a full-time leaguer. Flash thought of Aquaman, Green Lantern recommended Metamorpho and Hawkgirl thought that Supergirl was a good substitute.
2. Chronologically, which of the following injustice gangs came first (base it on dialogues on the show, not the order in which they aired)? [Answers are formatted as: Leader: member 1, member 2, member 3...]

Answer: Lex Luthor: Joker, Cheetah, Ultra-Humanite, Solomon Grundy, Shade, Star Sapphire and Copperhead

If you go by air dates then you will see that the episode - "Fury" comes first, in which we have Aresia as the leader of the injustice gang consisting of Solomon Grundy, Shade, Star Sapphire and Copperhead. Though if you watch the episode over you will notice that Copperhead, Solomon Grundy and Shade comment on Aresia's injustice gang being much better than Luthors. Luthor's gang is introduced in the episode "Injustice for All".

The gang was very upset because Luthor kept tempting them with more and more money and in the end due to Ultra-Humanite's betrayal, UH was the only one to get anything out of the experience. Grodd created two injustice gangs, the first which was introduced in "Secret Society" and the second in "I am Legion".
3. Who were the members of the Superman revenge squad in the episode, "Hereafter"?

Answer: Metallo, Livewire, Toyman, Weather Wizard and Kalibak

The Superman revenge squad that was introduced in the start of the episode was Metallo, Livewire, Toyman, Weather Wizard and Kalibak. Toyman went a little crazy with his gun and threatened to fire at Wonder Woman and Batman because he kept missing Superman. Superman tried to save WW and Batman by diving in the middle and was presumed dead by everyone.

In reality, he had been transported 1000 years into the future where only one man still lived - Vandal Savage. Other villains that also appeared in the episode to take advantage of Superman's death are Copperhead, Star Sapphire, Volcana and Deadshot.
4. What are the names of the two real sons of Darkseid that were shown in the "Justice League" episode, "Twilight"? (spelling counts)

Answer: Kalibak and Orion

Kalibak is the eldest son of Darkseid and appears in the episode "Twilight", as some kind of general in Darkseid's army. He returns in "Justice League" unlimited episodes - "Hereafter" and "Ties that bind". Orion is actually the son of Darkseid but was given to highfather as a sign of peace between New Genesis and Apokolips. Similarly, highfather gave Mister Miracle to Darkseid in the same peace treaty.
5. "Justice League" had a crossover episode between season 1 and season 2 called "A League of their Own". The crossover episode was between "Justice League" and which other show?

Answer: Static Shock

The episode "A League of their Own" was based on the league requiring "Static Shock" and his sidekick, Gear's help. However, they are called in an emergency and have to leave both of them alone in a watchtower while a piece of Braniac tries to take over.

There was never a crossover episode with "Teen Titans" but a shadow of Nightwing was shown in the episode "Grudge Match". There was also a backdoor pilot to "Legion of Super Heroes" in "Justice League Unlimited" called "Far From Home" in the final season.
6. In the episode "Starcrossed" we are introduced to Hawkgirl's ex-lover, Hro Talak. Now Hro Talak doesn't exist in the comics so that is why in "Justice League" he was loosely based on Hawkgirl's lover in the comics. What is the first and last name of the character that Hro Talak was based on?

Answer: Katar Hol

Hro Talak is an anagram of Katar Hol who in reality was Hawkgirl's lover in the comics. In fact, Katar Hol is introduced later in the series, in the episode "Shadow of the Hawk" makes a reappearence in "Ancient History" and also helps the league in the final battle against Apokolips.
7. Which Justice Guild member from the episode "Legends", doesn't have a power or appearence similar to the main seven Justice Leaguers in the series?

Answer: Black Siren

The Streak has the same power as Flash. Green Guardsman is the same as Green Lantern with slight differences like GG's ring doesn't work on aluminum. Catman is something of a mix between Wildcat (present in "Justice League Unlimited") and Batman. In appearence he especially represents Batman.

It can be argued that Tom Turbine is a little like Superman that is why I didnt include him in the options. Black Siren is like a primitive version of Black Canary, who isn't one of the original seven Justice Leaguers.
8. We were introduced to Gorilla City in the episode "The Brave and the Bold", in addition we got three recurring characters who are/were gorillas at some point in their life. Which of the following isn't one of those recurring gorilla characters?

Answer: Dr. Sarah Corwin

Gorilla Grodd is the recurring villain renegade gorilla that escaped from Gorilla City (where he was a convict) to take over man's world through mind control. When Giganta first appeared in the Grodd's secret society he reveals that Giganta used to be a gorilla earlier as well. Solovar is the chief of security in Gorilla City and enlisted Gl's and Flash's help to capture Grodd. Dr. Sarah Corwin was in love with Grodd and aiding him in his take over of man's world.
9. When the "Justice League" went back in time to stop Vandal Savage from winning World War II and taking over the world, one of the main seven leaguers did not go back in time. Which leaguer did not go back to the past to help stop Vandal Savage?

Answer: Batman

In the episode - "Savage Time", the entire league except Batman end up in a different dimension where Metropolis is under the control of Vandal Savage and Batman (as a civilian not a hero) is the leader of the resistance. Batman helps the others go back in time to stop Vandal Savage from taking over during World War II by using future weapons in the war against the allies.

In the end, the league works together to stop him and goes back into their own dimension.
10. In the episode "Maid of Honor", Wonder Woman and Batman work together to stop Vandal Savage again in taking over a fictional country. What is the name of the country they stop him from taking over?

Answer: Kasnia

Kasnia is a fictional country that has appeared in a lot of animated series including some of the Superman and Batman episodes. The country is something like Korea which is split into North and South as both areas try to push their borders by invading the other. Vandal Savage posed as his great grandson to marry Princess Audrey and take over Southern Kasnia.

He would have got away too if it wasn't for that meddling Wonder Woman. :)
