Answer: Carl

The elders were early risers and would start working, while the younger group would sleep all day, then get mad when the elders woke them up. The first tribal council for Samburu was a tie vote: the four elders voted for Lindsey and the four young ones for Carl.

They had to answer questions about Africa to break the tie. Carl answered wrong first sending him packing. He was a doctor with money and a nice car and the younger ones thought he did not deserve to be there.

On his 43rd birthday, Frank carved his wife's and two daughter's names on his torch. He said it was "for strength and so I can carry them with me when I leave". This telephone man from New York was very sentimental.
